Tyranny: send us a picture of your fancy HB egg star when you get it all figured out, lol. Sounds like you are a 'gadget girl..."

Lol I got nervous and took my picture down. I'll have to put it back up. I agree it is nice to put a face with a name. :)

Hey May ladies how is everyone doing this week? I am pleased so far as my scale is moving everyday this week. Hoping it keeps moving down until my weigh in on Friday. (week 15). I m happy to say that on my home scale I have left the 200's and I couldn't be happier. I have now set a new goal to look forward to the 170's...then my next will be the 150's...and hopefully down to 140. Again, I want to see how my body looks and feels as I keep losing to put a final final goal. Hope everyone is feeling encouraged and staying on track. Remember it is just one meal at a time...day by day and we can all do this!! Routing for you all!!

tyranny 08-13-2014 02:40 PM

The scale has been moving slowly for me the past few weeks. I'm still hanging in there by reminding myself it doesn't matter how long it takes to get there just so long as I get there. I also went out and bought some new smaller duds to give my motiviation a boost. Nothing like retail therapy to make you feel better!

muahahaha 08-13-2014 03:27 PM

Hey to all my fellow May starters! My scale is moving slowly these days too! I have 10 to go and feel like they will take their sweet time leaving my body! I have been having a bit of diet fatigue the past few weeks so I am trying to refocus and reading Becks daily! Hope everyone is doing great!

Mae5 08-19-2014 10:32 PM

Week 15 -4.6 down. That was last Friday.., this week not really budging but I ecpected that. Did a ton of yardwork today snd I was exhausted! I made sure I drank plenty of water and paced myself however I still felt tired. Could I have done too much?

MarcusBrody 08-22-2014 11:41 AM

Good morning fellow May starters!
I have been so happy with my progress over the past four months, but these last few pounds are SO MUCH HARDER. However, I'm committed to fully transitioning out of the program and that means I'm starting phase 2 today. I'm inspired to see so many other folks moving along the same path. Here's to a well-planned and fully motivated weekend for us all!

Mae5 08-28-2014 09:50 AM

slooooowwww week this week. i've walked, drank water, never cheat, and my scale isn't budging...hmmm?? not TOM either... No explanation. Extremely hot outside...could this be water retention?

Rruthlyn 09-01-2014 02:31 PM

I'm still here. Going strong. Started at 154/152 and today I am 126.2. Sooooooo excited!!!

skinnygirl2B 09-01-2014 10:08 PM

Hey Mae 5
You and I seem to be following the same set of numbers. Keep up the good work! I'm looking forward to joining you in Onederland soon!

It's great to look back to see how far we have come

Start: 326.7 lbs - 33.3% body fat
Today: 254.9 lbs - 18.6% body fat
Goal: 245.0 lbs - 15.0% body fat

71.8 lbs down 9.9 more lbs to go.

Mae5 09-07-2014 08:16 AM

Whew!! Had a great WI this week -4.7 wk 18. Down to 192.9 ...two slow weeks and now this. I 'll take it!! I think my body needs time to adjust to the bigger losses now. My BMI is down to 28.9 ....getting closer to my goal. I feel great and only hope to progress into the Fall and Winter with the same determination. Proud of all of you. @skinnygirl...KEEP IT UP!! If feels great to enter Onederland...and I know I 'll never allow myself to creep back up. Treating my body well will allow me to do more things for myself, share running around with my kids and being there for them. Thanks to everyone in the group. Your support means so much.

MarcusBrody - are you still in P2/P3 or have you moved on to P4? How is it going?

I'm still moving slowly downward. The good news is that now it's less about lbs being lost and more about hitting milestone goals, i.e. a BMI in the 'normal' range (!!!!!!) or fitting in to new much smaller clothes or taking the stairs at work w/o passing out (11 flights = 242 stairs). I'm SO GRATEFUL I gave IP a shot back in May.

Mae5 09-15-2014 11:41 AM

wonderful job tyranny you've come far.
my last WI was wk 19 -3.7...feeling great. my body actually feels like a machine...i feel when i lose and that makes all the work worth it. happy monday and a a great week to everyone.

Mae - I agree. Staying OP just keeps getting easier and easier. Many cheers to you on your aMAEzing progress!

It's been nearly 5 months since we all started. There have been lots of slow weeks and some faster weeks but they are all downward weeks. Realizing where I was when I started (56 lbs heavier) makes it a lot easier to remember that even if I don't lose every week, it. will. happen.

Mae5 09-25-2014 11:05 AM

hey everyone how is the week going? lost 2lbs last week but this week the scale isn 't budging. Keeping positive and looking forward to the start of a new week on Friday (after wi). great weekend to you all.

Mae5 10-02-2014 11:17 AM

Hello again,
Ended up dropping 2 lbs last week...this week (tomorrow's Wi) i hope to have dropped another 3...scale moving steadily this week. At least at home it is.
Find that with the cold weather approaching I have to make a more conscious effort to drink all my water. I love water but in the summer it is so hot that getting in 80 ounces is easy. Fall tends to be more difficult...want to reach for warm teas etc. On another note I wanted to say that I find when choosing a protein for dinner I have little loss during the weeks I eat chicken breast too many nights. I have a feeling it may have to do with hormones in the chicken? I can't seem to figure it out. The weeks I have steak, burger, pork loin, tuna and chicken only once are the weeks I lose most. Changing it up helps I think. Wishing you all the best. Would love to hear how you all are doing...22 weeks have past and look how far we've come!

tyranny 10-02-2014 04:26 PM

Hi Mae! Big congrats on your continued success. You'll be at your goal weight in no time. Keep up the good work!

I'm likely transitioning to P2 this weekend. My original goal was 160 and I'm well past that. I think I could go down to 135 - my current arbitrarily picked goal - but eh, it's not really about the number for me. I would much much rather be fit and am really itching to get working on that now that I'm not trying to shred with an extra 60 lbs on board. I've been too afraid to do anything more than long walks and stairclimbing. PLUS I finally broke down and bought a whole mess of clothes that fit me. I would hate to do that all over again and they are already loose. So wish me luck! I've been trying all week long to plan out next week's lunches. Will probably be lots of chicken or egg salad but maybe some baked tofu. You never know.

Hope everyone else is doing well heading into month 6!

Mae5 10-06-2014 12:41 PM

yeah tyranny! congrats...on to phase 2. i was thinking on to phase two by mid december...i too chose 140 for a final weight however i know i'll be healthy and happy at a higher weight. i'm itching to exercise too!! i 'll see how i do by then and make a decision. i honestly don't know what to expect in phase two. Two packets ? One 8 oz protein and 4 cups of veggies daily...is breakfast the added meal? or lunch? My last week WI wasn't as good as I expected bc my scale said 2 pounds more lost than the IP scale at the clinic...they move the scale around before weighing me sometimes so I feel it gets off balance. At any rate a loss is a loss. Hoping this week's is bigger.
I had four pairs of jeans in my drawer before starting in MAY ...none of which fit..I'm on my last pair and it too is getting baggy...Soo I'll have to shop soon but will wait maybe til December otherwise I'll be buying twice :)
Can weight still be lost in phase 2 and phase 3? I am not clear on this.
Also are you allowed to buy food from the clinic in phase 4....such as a packet a day / box a week for bfast? Thanks

Rruthlyn 10-12-2014 10:50 AM

I'm still here. Began in May at 154. Yesterday at 124. On Phase 2 and 3 depending on the day. I am sooooo thrilled with my progress!! IP rocks!!

Rayze 10-12-2014 01:29 PM

I'm here too. Started May 8, down 82 lbs w 26 more to go. Feeling a bit of diet fatigue, but still focused on the goal and how to maintain it. Congrats to all on P2!

Mae5 10-14-2014 10:45 AM

Great news for you all!! Down 5.2 las week - wk 23!! So exciting.
Keep on moving along taking one day at a time.

Kellyc14 10-14-2014 10:51 AM

Great job ladies!!! I started May 16 and am down 61 lbs, almost half way to goal!! Isn't IP wonderful!!

Mae5 10-15-2014 12:48 PM

I've got a cold :(( Haven't been sick once while on IP. I just had some IP TOMATO / BASIL soup and it made me feel a little better. Hoping it doesn't last too long. Miss my homemade chicken soup on days with this cold however.
Hope everyone is staying healthy. Great job on your 61 pounds down Kellyc14!!
Feels great, doesn't it?

Thank you!! And yes, it feels amazing!! :D I hope you get well soon!!

Mae5 10-22-2014 08:54 AM

Thank you! Cold almost gone... not too bad. Was able to sleep all night...so that was a plus. Switched up this week and had a restricted lemon poppy bar each day for bfast. Haven't had a restricted except for 3 times in 24 weeks. This week was an experiment....not a great loss week but I think a pound or two. It is TOM so hoping next week is a bigger loss. THink I'll go back to my orange shakes next week. Can't believe I may be only 30 pounds or so away from my goal. Seems so far yet so close at the same time.
Trying to keep busy and plan something special each week...this time of year with Halloween and three kids in the house the chocolate is flowing. I ration the choc. out and don't touch a drop for myself. I 'm proud of how I can now do that.
How is everyone planning Thanksgiving? I was thinking of making steamed zucchini and eating just turkey. Thoughts on having the turkey at 1 pm instead of for dinner at night? Should I wait and eat it for dinner?

You can eat the turkey at 1pm. I often eat "dinner" for lunch and my lunch for dinner. Everyone keeps asking me how i'm going to survive Thanksgiving. Honestly, I think I will be fine with turkey, veggies, and salad. I'm a meat eater anyway, especially these days. It's sad, so many people complain that 8oz of meat is ALOT to eat, not for me!! LOL

Good job resisting the Halloween candy!!! I have a huge bowl of candy sitting out and I am shocked that it hasn't tempted me in the least bit!

CO_6 10-22-2014 12:47 PM

Ha! I agree. I am definitely a "volume" eater. Its not about what I can and cant eat but how much. I look forward to the 8oz.

Mae5 10-24-2014 12:00 PM

Well, not a good WI today...scale said i was up .4 lbs....my scale at home says I was down almost 2 pounds....??? I never move my scale at home...and at the clinic they move the scales..We have 3 floor scales at the clinic and they always weigh you on 'your' scale...the one you were first weighed on. The problem is they pick the scale up and move it between weighing people...I said I know I am down this week...but again, how can I argue with the numbers the coach sees. I am not making excuses because the times I weigh in and the scale is the right one and hasn't been moved I weigh in accurately...when they move the scale it is alllllllways off. Annoyed..
anyone else have this happen at their clinic? I haven't cheated once. I follow the IP norms and I can take a small loss even half a pound...but that it says I gained weight?? ugh...that's all i can say...ugh.

Mae5 11-05-2014 01:46 PM

scale down 2.2 last week..everything counts. this week we shall see.
have been having dizzy spells / mostly positional this past week...not too sure why but i've been making sure to get all my water and salt in so that shouldn't be it.
hope everyone is having a good week!

Mae5 11-13-2014 12:59 PM

down 4.8 week 27! we'll see what tomorrow's wk 28 brings. How is everyone else doing this month? I hope well. Keep your chins up when things get tough..it is so worth it when the good WI's happen. :)

Mae5 12-01-2014 12:51 PM

Welcome to December everyone!! I have gone on to Phase 2 and feel great...still losing. I am in my 2nd week now and will be done with phase 3 Dec. 19th. I feel great at the weight I am now however will slowly start running again and try to lower to my goal goal by summer. This has been a great 7 months. Feeling healthy, strong and young!! Hope you all have done as well and are still on track to your goals. Wishing you all the best.

tyranny 12-01-2014 04:54 PM

HOORAY FOR YOU Mae! You have done amazing -- so happy for you. Could you have imagined back in May that you'd be where you are now? I definitely could not. I never thought I'd make it to July and now I'm in my 5th week of P4. So crazy!

Mae5 12-05-2014 06:33 PM

Thx so much tyranny! lost 3.2 in phase 2... Started phase 3 today. Are you losing in phase 4 or maintaining? Did you lose in phase 3? My coach said people usually gain 5 pounds in phase 3... Hoping to keep losing because i ll be eating the same as phase 2 except for the bfast which i have meal replacement shakes for. We shall see..
Congrats on your success in 4!!!

tyranny 12-06-2014 05:55 AM

Mae: I lost about 6 lbs total inP2-p4 HOWEVER put that all back on this week after I stopped my BP med. ah well. P1 for me until I get back down! You NEED to join in Maintainers thread. Those women are such a great source of info and emotional support for all the crazy uncertainty that comes with P4.

Mae5 12-09-2014 03:44 PM

thanks again.
don't worry about the 6 lbs up...probably water retention...you'll be back down in no time.
i ;ll check out some other threads for phase 4 to keep on track.

Kellyc14 01-15-2015 03:10 PM

I was just reading the July Starter thread and thought I would resurrect the May one! I never in a million years thought I would have such success on IP, but here I am 8 months later and 80+lbs lighter and still going strong!! This community has been a huge part of my success! I couldn't have done it without all of ya'lls wisdom and encouragement.

A friend of mine started two weeks ago and is having a difficult time adjusting to the food. I gave her this website, I hope she visits it. I would hate to see her give up. :(

Are there any other May starters here?? :)

Rayze 01-15-2015 11:31 PM

Hi there! May starter. Lost 114 lbs and just moved to phase 2. So excited!

tyranny 01-16-2015 10:19 AM

I'm still here - in maintenance since early October. Still reading along and silently rooting for everyone. It's taken me a while to accept the occasional scale swings but overall I'm completely satisfied with where I'm at - nearly 70 lbs lighter than when I started.

Kellyc14 01-16-2015 11:18 AM

I'm still in phase 1, but I am good with that! I was just telling a friend yesterday, losing is the easy, maintaining is the hard part!!!

Rayze that is excellent!!!

tyranny- I am terrified of maintenance! :o I am happy to hear that you are doing well!!
