I totally feel you on the joy/pain of buying new clothes. It's so much fun to see the smaller sizes, but its tough to let go of very useable new items that were rather costly. But in the end, it will all work out. I need to do some "shopping" in my own closet to see if I can supplement my wardrobe! :)
Well, here's my NSV for the day. Actually, I killed two birds with one stone. At today's weigh in I hit my half-way point in this weightloss journey. I also achieved end of grad school weight!! WOO HOO!! It took me 3.5 years to get it on and 3 months to get it off. Not interested in seeing those lbs ever again! Next goal is start of grad school weight (162)...and then my "normal" weight of 145...hopefully by the time my wedding rolls around in April. Thanks to everyone here for all of your support! Even though I'm primarily a lurker, I could not have done it without you! I especially love reading the NSV's. They are so motivating to me!!! |

My NSV for the day was a young female employee at Staples telling me, "Killer boots!" as I walked out the door in my recently purchased knee-high boots! lol! Posted from 3fatchicks.com App for Android |
Have another NSV to add... I finished C25K Week 8 Day 1 this afternoon... a 28 minute run... at a slightly faster pace and steeper incline than my last treadmill run! :woohoo:
Now it's time to wrap some presents! :D |

Benice, that is huge! And congrats!
SDChickie -- what a thrill! You must look great in those new boots! :) |
I dressed up as Santa today for the office party, and had to add lots and lots of padding to the costume!

Thanks, benice and starshine! ;)
When you feel like crap, RUN. This is my profound thought for the day. Decided to say, "Screw the last 1.5 weeks of C25K!" and instead decided to just graduate today. I finished my first ever (running) 5K this morning. Improved my distance, incline, AND pace in one fell swoop. I'm impressed that being in a funk was such a great motivator for me... and running is a HECK of a lot cheaper therapy than a licensed counselor! On the other hand, I hope that it doesn't take repeated funks for continued improvements! I know we're not supposed to cross-post, but I may have to share just my profound thought in the weekend chat thread... :D |
Bought myself a pair of size ten pants for work while out Christmas shopping. They're a little snug but they button and zip. All my size 12s are jeans. I was afraid back to work after the new year would come and nothing will be small enough. :)
I have to keep pinching myself. This is the first time I've truly believed I can get down to a normal BMI (8.4 pounds to go). It doesn't feel risky to buy clothes ahead, but necessary. |
Oh, no, say it isn't so! I found this NSV thread on page 9! I know we have so much good news to share!
I had a great time at the pool tonight. Last week I could only swim 800 meters (1/2 mile) in 30 minutes, and then all my muscles just gave out. But tonight I swam the full hour and swam just barely over 1600 meters. My best was 2000 meters in an hour, so I'm thrilled with the progress. |
