Great motivation from all of you - thanks! I'm euphoric today and feeling quite sassy because I decided to start last Friday instead of waiting until Monday (life I've done in the past). I've had a clean 3 day start and have confidence that at least for today (ONE DAY AT A TIME) I know what to eat and how I will feel. Can't wait to dig out those boxes of clothes that had to be put away!!

Yesterday I dug out all my old T-shirts that I used to love wearing. Now that I no longer have my ribcage-roll, I look good in T- shirts again. I even tried on my prom dress - almost got it to zip! :) |

I have a NSV to report. This morning I dug in my closet and found a pair of jeans that I have not been able to wear since 2009/2010. I started the diet as a very tight and uncomfortable size 18 and this morning I zipped up a very comfortable size 14 without having to lie on the bed to zip them up. My husband took one look at me in my very hot pants and immediately came over to give me a thorough inspection. Needless to say, I felt sexy this morning. What a great plan!

I posted this on another thread -- I can now see my rib cage again! OK, only when I suck in my breath -- but still! I haven't seen it in like forever. Good to know it's still there. :)
Also, since I started this diet, my fasting blood glucose level has gone from 103 to 79! My Hemoglobin A1C has gone from 6.0 to 5.6, and my blood pressure has gone from 159/95 to 127/73. :) |
You should be very very proud of yourself! fantastic job:carrot:

When I was camping in the bush this past weekend all I could think was thank goodness I lost weight...I don't think I could have squatted and peed in the trees with such ease before. Sort of a NSV :)

You started about the same size as me - and i know what an ordeal it was whenever we went fishing I used to just blame it on the short legs ;) |

I ran up the steps the other day! I was in a hurry and just did it. Once I got to the top, it dawned on me that I had just run up the steps for the first time in more than 20 years!
I've also noticed that I don't need to grip the railing for dear life going down the steps anymore, either! One more -- we went to an amusement park yesterday. In days past, I would abstain from most rides, because I was afraid the ride operator would say something to me or question whether I could go on the ride. This time, I didn't worry at all and fit right in. I even straddled the carousel horse with ease. This plan is SO worth it! |
Bumping one of my fav threads!

My daughter is learning how to eat healthy. She "sneaks" egg whites and veggies off my plate or requests her own egg whites. I'm so proud.

My jeans are too big!!!!
(I have never said that before....ever...in my entire life) |
