I was able to get my wedding ring on yesterday!!!!!!! I haven't had it on since my son was born, 5 years ago. It's still a little tight so I took it off, but I am SO CLOSE to being able to wear it again:D

Yesterday my sister called me to ask about Christmas plans. The big tradition in my family is stockings. They are HUGE and full of anything from trinkets to nicer items. One thing they ALWAYS have is lots of fun snacks. She asked me if I wanted snacks this year (knowing that I'm in lose weight for the wedding mode)...despite being temped to say "yes", I said "no"! No sense tempting myself with things I cannot have. But, man, it was hard to say no to tradition. I wouldn't have thought it was really that big of a deal, but I've actually thought about missing those things in my stocking since that conversation took place, so obviously it has more significance than I realized. Happy with my decision, though.

Making me feel better is that I'm wearing a pair of skinny pants I bought a few weeks ago that I thought would not fit for quite some time.

sahmmommy--I love your wedding ring NSV! Mine is that I'm now wearing mine on my middle finger. (No sense getting it resized yet!) One of my coworkers laughed and said I can now flip someone a bedazzled bird! lol!

Also, I ran for 25 minutes straight last night... first day of C25K Week 7. Had all sorts of excuses to not do it, but finally did it anyway... and it felt SO GOOD!

If it makes you feel better - think of it as just one year with the food treats. Next year traditional treats can continue. ;)

Great new pic! I can totally see a difference! I use this to keep my ring in place: http://www.amazon.com/Ring-Guard-EZs...rds=ring+sizer
It's been great! If you are thinking of buying these, I would tell you that I have very thin band, so I use the smallest size. If you have a small band, probably would only buy the small. The medium and large are for much thicker bands.

Thanks, benice, for both the compliment and the advice! ;)

Wearing pants I thought were relegated to the back of the closet to never see the light of day again...and it was no effort to button them!

SDChickie-love the new avatar photo!

That's great! I have a ring from my boyfriend (not an engagement ring...yet...) that is now pretty loose on my finger! It circles around instead of staying in place, but hasn't tried to fall off past te knuckle yet.. (thankfully-dont want to lose it!) I will have to move it to my middle finger shortly or head for those ring guards. :D

Last week a coworker asked if I was losing weight (pretty cool since they see me everyday) and a few days before that someone from my church noticed I'd lost a lot of weight since she last saw me.

SDChickie 12-07-2012 09:03 AM

Thanks fishette! :)

Tightwad, YEA FOR YOU!!! (I just found an old, beloved pair of jeans in my closet this morning that I surpassed a month or two ago... shoot! But I'm okay with that! lol!)

Whytokay, awesome! Yes, be sure to do something different before you lose it! Flip people the bedazzled bird! :D

Ferrousgal, I LOVE IT! You're right... it's sometimes difficult for those that see us every day to notice the loss, so the fact that someone did is VERY COOL! I know most of us are doing this for ourselves, not anyone else, but it still is very motivating to get such kudos from others and know we're on the right track!

My NSV today--I did an hour of Zumba last night (3rd time in the past 2 weeks, but will now be two or more times weekly every week) and DON'T HAVE PAIN today! :D

sahmmommy2 12-07-2012 09:11 AM

First of all, GREAT NSV's everyone! I love reading this thread. SO inspirational!

That is funny! And way to go on the C25K! AWESOME!

What a great NSV. Don't forget to save a little OP snack for yourself. You could put that in your stocking!

Thanks for the info. I might have to look into those eventually:) It will be such a huge milestone to get my ring back on and keeping it on!

Another one... going shopping today for size 18 jeans. I hope they fit! My size 20 jeans are really baggy everywhere, not just on the waist. I'm excited to try some new jeans on! Also have a photoshoot for the holidays on Sunday, so I'm going to be shopping for clothes for that today after work. I'll be sure to report back on any victories :D

You will be rocking new jeans in your photos! Have fun shopping!

NSV for me (jean related too). On Thanksgiving, I said to a friend, I hoped to be down a size by Christmas. Well, my 16 jeans are getting pretty loose (tighter in the stomach area still. Hate that! :) ). So I bought a pear of 14 Levis, thinking in a week or two I'd be ready for them. Got them last night, and I'm wearing them today. :) Maybe I'll be a 12 by Christmas?

Although I was a size 8-10 about a decade ago, in my adult life, 12-14 has been the standard. I used to HATE feeling that big, but now, wearing these form fitting Levi's in size 14, I just love it. I have my long legs again, and my stomach almost looks flat (it isn't by any stretch of the imagination). I'm home today, but I made sure I went to the grocery store this morning. I had to go somewhere in these new jeans. :)
