If you do your research you can find all kind of ways to make this diet very easy to follow. Some times thinking outside the box within limits works real well. |

Anybody else notice that thier feet have shrunk. I had to wear 2 pair of socks with my boots because they were to loose.:spin:
|
I have noticed that my feet are smaller. It was actually one of the first things I noticed.
I got on the scale this morning and it looks like I might be in for a smaller week. I was only down 1lb ( I think). My scale is about 5 lbs nicer to me than my coach's. but I did also think last week would be as lower week and I ended up down 5.4 lbs. my clinic is closed Saturday for Thanksgiving so I am a day short of a week too. Oh we'll as long as it keeps coming off I'm happy. |
Yo H & 3D...my feet are narrower, for sure! My feet slide around inside my Harley Boots so I had to add extra socks and thick ones at that!
Nobster: You can do this no problem. 1st week is tough but then so are you. You be tougher. Drink water every time you feel like your going to die from starvation...it does not fill you up per se' but it does help fool your stomach into thinking you had something good...haha! Be careful of restricted items once you get into ketosis (around 3-4 days)...and try to just keep it simple and follow the sheet. You can maximize your weight loss by making low carb choices from the acceptable daily veggie list for example. Also, mixing in a cup of raw spinach into your morning shake DOES help keep you full longer. I add a few ice cubes in that also and blend the spinach up good and THEN add the shake mix. I do NOT count that 11 calorie cup of spinach as part of my days 4 cups...I treat it as a freebie. But I don't do restricted items EVER so I am already consuming less then others. Keep some cucumbers on hand. sliced and ready to eat and of course lots of lettuce and walden farms dressing (zero cal)... You get two egg whites a day as a "freebie"...they make a nice snack omelete when you add in a few mushrooms and some green onion etc...I use zero cal butter spray. Just roll with it Nob...first 4 days are hardest...usually a day 2 or day 3 headache.....drink water and get past that. You got this thing beat if you keep your head, DON'T CHEAT, and are prepared! Keep extra shake, sea salt and walden farms dressing packet in your car for example. Comes in handy if you need to grab a side salad at Wendy's or McDonalds when you are out. Rock it Nob! Cheers Jake |
Thanks for all the warm welcomes. Today is day 3 for me. I am starting to get a slightly metalic taste in my mouth (like the inside of a soda can) I assume that might be the ketones?
I planned ahead for this diet. I started greatly cutting back a week ago. I had a couple of bad headaches due to the diet change shortly before starting IP. I have been feeling pretty good since starting IP. Hunger has not been an issue either. I find that their meal plan is pretty satisfying. I keep my restricted items in a seperate bag. I usually have that for my 4PM "dinner" since I am still at the office and I make my own protein for the "snack" meal. Fortunately I love cucumbers so I always have a cup of them sliced to snack on throughout the day. That seams to make it a lot easier to get the other 3 cups of veggies in with meals. For those of you who have not read it, I highly recommend "Why We Get Fat" It is greatly focused around ketosis. As the nerd that I am, I am never satisfied with "it just works" I always like to know what specifically makes it work and that book answered all my questions. I look forward to posting some big numbers on Tuesday for my first weigh-in |

IF you did a little prep before you started you more than likley will have a big loss. I started prepping about a month in advance waiting to get past the holidays to start IP and lost 10lbs. getting ready then 30lbs in the first month of being 100%IP. |
Lost 1 pound last week...but I expected an "adjustment week" after the 7lbs of the week before. BUT, I went down another pant size to 42 and they fit comfortable! I also had to make another new hole in my belt! WOOHOO! Man, I have not been down to a 42 is many years! My son told me last night that I looked thin. THIN! It has been a lot of years since anyone used the word thin when speaking about me! That felt pretty good!
So on to week 14 I go...continuing phase 1 and very motivated...heading to that 225 goal weight and then I will determine if I should change goal yet again and go lower. And the beat goes on.... Cheers Jake |
Jake I know what you mean it’s kind of weird to hear the word THIN from anyone describing me too. I have been 285-345 since the late 70’s and have always had to shop at the BIG MEN’s store to find shirts. The tuxedo I wore to New Years was a 58r with a size 22 shirt so I don’t have a suit that I can wear anymore. That’s a far cry from the 36 jeans and the XL shirt I am wearing now. I still think I’m a long way from thin.

That's awesome Jake!! It is pretty awesome to be transforming your body.
I think I'm in fora slower week at my WI today too. My home scale isn't being so nice to me, hopefully the coac's scale is nicer. It's Thanksgiving here in Canada this weekend. I think I'm having turkey breast and mashed turnips. Sure will miss the potatoes, stuffing, gravy and pumpkin pie. Oh well. I will have it next year and be able to enjoy it more. |
Great news. I just found out my place now has the Strawberry/Banana ready to drink. I can't wait to try it.

Game at 2:30, on CBS. I hope you can catch it over there. I may miss some of it. I plan to use the light traffic during the game to dart out to Tanger Outlet mall in Gonzalez to pick up some new work pants. And a new belt. I was so excited to get a new belt a few weeks ago. I knew I had gotten the wrong size. I'm already on the last holes of it. I was in such disbelief of my new size. LOL :carrot::carrot::carrot: |
