Good thing I already have an ice cream maker or I would have to go out and buy yet another gadget. Bought myself a dehydrator this weekend and so far have tried zucchini, cucumber and radish with mixed success. Today I put some beef jerky meat in for the day as I thought this may work well for my phase 2 lunches when I'm on the run.

Awesome job!
Hope all those surrounded by Isaac are staying safe and dry.
So, this is only day 12 for me...but I have been 100% OP, and plan to stay that way. Have a question though, has anyone felt weepy at all on this program? I'm still in the early part, but yesterday was just awful for me, I felt very sad and weepy for most of the day...for no apparent reason! This is extremely out of character for me.
WI#1 -7lbs
Oh yeah! You will have to deal with all sorts of emotional swings on this plan. Fat stores estrogen. Getting rid of fat, IP does this exceptionally well, will release that estrogen and therefore causes those kind of mood swings. I've heard others on 3FC saying, yeah for the moodiness because it means you probably lost more fat.
since making them more and more....i have learned the following:
1. use a mandolin to slice evenly
2. bake at 175 degrees....use parchment paper...do not spray the paper with oil!
3. do not overlap chips
4. use your salt...this helps draw out the moisture
5. spray lightly with evoo
6. bake for about 1 hour and 30 mins BEFORE TURNING THEM OVER
i noticed that moisture was gathering on the tops...and when i turned them over, the moisture then became trapped underneath...and when reheated, the moisture rose to the top...making the zucchini chips more moist taking longer to cook!!!
7. finish baking on the other side, turning only once. i was trying to turn them every 30 mins thinking it would expedite the process, only it just took longer!!
8. hope that makes sense!! TRY AGAIN!!!!
I discovered the same things as you when baking the chips. I ended up cooking for about 3 hours and I used less oil than before. One batch i became impatient and turned the oven up...WHY DID I DO THAT?! I ate them slightly burnt anyway. I have a wonderful baggie full for my lunch today though. Thanks for all of your recipe tips! You rock girl! And congrats on the loss!!!

Thanks for the vote of confidence Rainbow. I know the plan works so I'm sticking it out 100% and waiting for my body to catch up.
The radishes really shrunk when dehydrated and aren't really crispy, more leathery. I haven't decided if they would be something I could snack on as is but I think it could incorporate them into recipes better. I also didn't use any seasoning on them so I think I'll try another time and see when I can come up with/

Down .2 today .6 to go. I'm staying on Phase 1 for one more week then going to phase 2 regardless of what the scale says next week! I won't be seeing my coach on Monday because of labor day, so I got the phase 2 sheet. I'm so happy that the protein requirement has been lowered to 5 oz for lunch and 5 oz for dinner. I was feeling overwhelmed by the idea of eating 16 oz of protein a day!
SewingMomma: Congratulations on reaching your goal! I am so glad to see your post about Phase 2! Even though I've still got about 2 months before I get there, I was worried about the 16 oz of protein p/day too. Are the updated protocol sheets in the stickies yet?

I don't think so. My sheet has the new numbers written in. My coach said That the only thing that's changed is the protein. I think this change is really recent because she made a point of making sure my sheet had the corrected amounts.

OK, that makes a lot of sense!! Thanks, I feel better having read that!

I started phase 2 on Saturday for a planned vacation time-out. My coach said it was simply having the same quantities for lunch as dinner. When she gave me the sheet, it had 5-7 oz meat on it. I asked for clarification and she called IP the next day for clarification and the sheet she gave me was old. The new sheet says 8 oz. I can't figure out how to attach a copy from my iPad but I'll try a little later from my computer.
Yes 8 oz is a lot for lunch and dinner but so far I'm managing.
