As for kale chips, I am not sure what you are "supposed" to do since I didn't look up a recipe, i just cut all the green leafy parts off into chunks, sprayed lightly with pam and sprinkled with sea salt then put in the toaster over til they crisped but didn't burn.
I do arizona iced tea stix and its a freaking lifesaver..i was able to knock back 4 litres of water today just cause i had flavoring for water..cause i cant deal with the taste of water on its own.

Jases - I am afraid I will get hooked on the flavorings but I got these anyway. They do have caffeine (tea) I think, so that will help me limit consumption =)

I picked up some 4C Totally Light To Go from amazon, got 3 boxes of like 12 each for $12.
They are flavored with Splenda, but wow they are good, I would suggest checking them out.
I too have 3 different kinds of Mio as well, makes a difference for sure.

Btw, good morning everyone.
You women were busy last night.
I hope everyone is doing well, I ate way to much last night, screwed up and didn't have my veggies for my lunch yesterday so my wife made me pay last night and gave me 4 cups for dinner.
Plus a 4oz steak, plus a 4oz chicken breast, plus 2 oz of shrimp cooked on the bbq.
Man I was full, but that's what I get for not eating what I am supposed to.
I hope everyone has a wonderful Friday.
I get to get up at 5:30 in the morning tomorrow to teach a motorcycle class, so it's still kind of my Thursday but at least this job only has one more day left in it this week.

Time to get ready for the morning meeting.
Stay positive.

CUteNCurls, I've been experiencing the same thing! I'm always hot but lately I've turned the A/C off in my car and its 100 degrees outside where I am right now.

Hey wayward, I ride too! I have a sport bike, love it!

Good morning every one, its Day 9 for me OP and my first weigh in is in about an hour, I'm pretty excited!!
I'm gonna also look for this teas and water flavors because the last week of drinking nothing but water has been sad, I dont drink coffee or hot tea, so I definitely need something different to get me through the next few weeks

Hope every one has a god day, I'll post my weigh in info when I get back

Good luck ex-piglet, let us know how it goes.

Always nice to run into a fellow rider.. Yamaha FJR1300 Sport Tourer here.
I only have 2 women in the class this weekend, but I have taught I think 70% women over the past season and a half, women are starting to ride again a lot more.

YAY Josey!!! Even though you're first week was smaller than some your second week was bigger than most!! WAY TO GO!!!

I had my first movement on my own personal scale this morining - nothing for days ... and then 1.4 drop overnight - weight is random - but it WILL eventually come off.

Keep working everyone!

Yay Josey! That is fantastic news - congrats on that loss!

I'm having the opposite problem - gained a pound this week. So, I have questions and wondering if my fellow newbies can help?

I was traveling this week, so was out of my own time zone (and schedule)... brought packets and bars with me, and probably had an extra bar on 2 of the 3 days I was gone. I also did work out (figuring the extra bar, since my timing was a mess). I ate probably more Phase 2-like, having two "meals" during the day - lunches and dinners with customers, but stayed on plan according to the protein/veggie combos. (Note here that I am truly appreciative of restaurants that will modify their plates for you!)

So, any ideas here? Is my body (in week 3) just fighting back? Did I throw myself out of ketosis with a bar? Should I actually be eating more with my workouts?

Any insights or experiences are welcome, thanks!

I am sure travelling did not help, plus the time zones, and when I live abroad and flew alot, it always made my wieght fluctuate, NO idea why..... Weight is random, I would give it a couple days and stay OP and see what happens. Do you travel like that all the time or was this a rarity??? CONGRATS for staying on while travelling!! I would call that a NSV!! just sayin'....

Josey - 9 pounds in 2 weeks is fabulous!! I just hit that in 3. VERY impressed and inspired!!

MrsD - traveling does takes its toll, especially if you were flying (water retention). They do suggest only 1 restricted per day, so 2 bars may be inhibiting weight loss but there is no way to know for sure. As for working out, they suggest an extra 1-2 packets (probably 1 unless you are highly athletic) but not an extra bar. Maybe next time just bring more packets or RTD drinks if its the convenience you need? That said, I applaud your efforts while traveling and think that while an extra bar might have slowed you (and might not have) that is WAYYYYY better than eating out or going off protocol. Great job!

I would suggest 1 day or 2 days of Phase 1 boot camp (i.e. no restricteds), up your water, and see if it doesn't balance out for you after a day or so.
