I figured a loss is a loss, I have lost 10% of my initial starting weight (29lbs) in six weeks. I don`t see how that is problematic. Sure I would like it to be more, but it`s better than none! I am starting to consider going with Ideal2Go because of the frustrations I am having with my coach. I expected her to be more encouraging given the things I Have been through the last couple weeks.

29 pounds in six weeks is phenomenal. Your coach is crazy to not see that. I would check out alternatives. You don't need added frustration with all you've been through, especially considering how much the program costs. Hang in there. You are doing great.

That's awful that she was like that...holy crap that's almost an average of 5 lbs. a week of loss, how could she be anything but thrilled?? Makes me sad that you have a coach who's like that, mine has been AMAZING and I couldn't do it without her and you all here. I hope you can find another coach in the area maybe? Keep doing what you're doing cause you're rocking it!

Had my WI for week 5 today. Down a total of 22 lbs for 5 weeks - whoo hoo!! I have been thinking about rewarding myself with contact lenses for 25 lbs. - then I could get some really cool sunglasses for summer!!
Congratulations on all the great losses and NSV posted today. It really helps me stay OP to come here and read - love those progress pictures too!! Hope everyone has a great weekend!

hi jolie! no, my friend is about 2 inches taller than me, and probably around 100 lbs heavier than me when she started, so it would be too hard to compare out weight loss. she's the reason i am doing IP. she has lap-band surgery about 3 or 4 years ago and didn't really lose any weight. she started IP and lost 20 lbs in 4 weeks, so i just had to know how she was doing it. because she introduced me to this diet, she is my new hero and i will forever be in debt to her!

also, thanks for the kind words. you are too sweet!!

I also work the night shift and it's hard going back and forth with the IP diet. I've been asking for advice on this subject also. I had my breakfast when I wake up in the afternoon, supper meal around 8-9pm before I go to work, then eat lunch in the middle of my shift, then have snack when I get home in the AM. It's a stuggle with weight loss--mainly I think due to sleep pattern. I'm hoping someone has advice on how to do the diet with working night shift.

I work 12 hour night shift so I have my "breakfast" at opposite times of the day. For example, if I eat breakfast at 8 am, then when I work night shift I have breakfast at 8pm. I then have lunch at midnight, supper at 5 am. and my snack when I get home at 7:30 am. I am just going to incorporate this into my IP program. My biggest worry is when I get off my last shift and stay up most of the day. My coach told me as long as I go without food for at least 4 hours I should be okay switching back to days.

My first week was the hardest, so be prepared. My coach had me have 4 IP products a day the first week just to get by. One every 4 hours.
The things I HAVE TO HAVE are
1,Chocolate drink I mix it with 8 oz water, add ice and shake until it is well mixed. ( I have tried it hot but prefer it cold)
2. Vegetable Chili. I cook up celery, mushroom and add to chili for a nice hot lunch. Use about 8 ounces or more of water.
3. Cranberry pomagrante bars. They are big and sweet and satifying for a treat.
4. Chicken Soup. Just tried it this week and found it to be good. Add veggies and its a nice warm meal. After awhile I needed to feel like I was eating not just drinking my meals. Mix it and let it sit before you eat it. Also mix with 8 ounces or more water.
5. Alot of people like the omelet. It's okay.
6. The Mango peach drink is a good one also.
7. If you are dying for "chips" I found the vinegar sour cream chips satisfying. But they are a restricted item so I don't use them often. I'd rather have my bar or chili.
Also, go through the list of unrestricted veggies and stock up on them. Try different veggies. I have started eating cabbage and turnips and even some peppers that I never tried before. The secret is to be prepared and not caught without the proper things to eat. Ending my 3rd week and down 15 pounds.

Thank you to all for your inspiring posts. It's nice to know I'm not going it alone.

You're doing great! I've had a chest cold most of the week that just hit my sinuses. I feel your pain! For the first time (I had my 8th wi today - Down 2.2 lbs) I don't want to eat my protein tonight. I could never relate when other people said they were having a hard time getting all their food in. I always wanted every morsel. But I digress...good job to you and all! Feel better soon.

I think that my cravings have finally gone away!! I didn't think that would ever happen and it is such a weird feeling. I was MAJORLY addicted to carbs. To the point where it would totally control me. Finally after five weeks I can honestly say that I haven't craved carbs in over a week! when I see carbs I think "that looks good" but I'm not like "omg I need to eat that" and be consumed by thoughts of eating it until I finally do eat it!
Feels great to no longer be controlled by food!!

Hello guys & gals!

This has been a pretty good week for me, IP-wise, and I have done a major clean up in my closet!!! Everything that is now too big is out of there! Never to be seen again! I've never had the courage to do such a "clean up" before, cause I always kept clothes "in case I'd need it again" :dizzy:

But... NO MORE! Every pound shed is never going to return again! I have decided and that is it!

Problem now is... that I'm losing weight pretty quickly... I can't imagine buying new clothes every few weeks, to wear for just a small amount of time. That's silly! So if anyone out there who is also changing rapidly, please share what you are doing! I'd really appreciate it, & I'm sure everyone will find these tips/suggestions helpful.

Down 20 lbs! yay me! & YAY EVERYONE ELSE on here!!

:dust:

Hi. I've always had to wash my jeans and knit tops in cold water and line dry them so they wouldn't shrink. better than buying a larger size. Well, now that they're too big I'm drying them in the dryer. If they're stretch denim they can really shrink - in length too so you have to be careful. I start out drying them on low heat - if they need more shrinkage I move up to medium or high heat. One pair got a little too short. I think I'll make the into capri length.

Being a stay at home dad yesterday and the day before, was difficult and tempting with staying on Protocol. I did though.

Here is to another 100% day!

I'm very sorry your son was so sick. Glad to hear he is feeling better. And good for you staying on protocol under those circumstances.

How to tell you are in ketosis

Hi - I have been reading this forum for a couple of weeks now but just registered because I have a question. I have read where people comment on how they didn't go out of ketosis. Is there a way you can tell if you "fall out" of ketosis?

thumper 03-11-2011 10:45 PM

:running:Hi all,
Well, glad to be back on. Been struggling a bit, but survived. Stayed at a 28 lb loss for two weeks, then gained 1 lb the next week. That was as of last monday and since have lost 2.5 lbs.according to my scale, but I will wait for the official weigh in next monday. I ate too many proteins each day and not enough water. Anyway I was determined to get back on track and have. Am no longer going to buy the bars, to hard to stay away from them! Just keeping it simple, kind of a "modified" boot camp, I guess.

The cool thing is this diet does work and we can't beat ourselves up or quit if we stumble or hit a plateau occ. Someone talked about taking a break then getting back on. It was a tempting thought when I was staying the same, but I fought through it and feel like it was a NSV.and feel stronger for the next battle. :dust: POWER TO THE PEOPLE, Ok now I have just dated myself. Let's all hang in there together one day, one meal at a time. God bless you all and may your troubles be few. Best to your little one juiceman.

Happy Friday everyone! I saw somewhere (probably in the newbie tips), that people had make "shakes" using ice and an immersion (hand held stick) blender. I had a gift card from Christmas that I had been saving, so yesterday, I bought an immersion blender. And tonight, I had a chocolate shake! Fantastic! I think tomorrow I will have a pina colada!

What a handy little tool! So much easier than a big blender.
