Yeah the peanut butter alone is not good.. but put it in a shake and its devine. Someone even made a peanut sauce with it and I believe the Asian Salad dressing.

I added fresh squeezed lime, ginger and basil to make it vaguely Thai. And then poured it over sauteed veggies. Today I'm going to try something like a chicken tortilla soup...maybe cumin, lime, and some garlic and then chunks of chicken and a small sprinkle of sw cheese curls on top for crunch. I'm on phase 4, but I like having IP products in the house for my phase 1 "makeups" after the free day, so I keep experimenting. The tomato soup is definitely too sweet, so try adding something acidic (vinegar, lemon, lime).

I've got 10-15 pounds to go and it feels like the last bit of weight loss is now crawling off. I'm still sticking with protocol but feeling on and off discouraged and today is just one of those days. I want the 120's just gotta take it one day at at time.

Oh, I so remember that feeling! and I think it hits a lot of people around week 10. You are doing a GREAT job, so keep your eyes on the prize! Maybe it's time to treat yourself to a mani/pedi or start browsing Victoria's Secret for the treat you will buy yourself when you are done?

Any other librarians out there?

I'm not a librarian, but if you are a librarian at a rural library, I am working on a video project for adult programming in libraries and would love to talk to you. Can PM me?

Any suggestions? of note... this is a wonderful problem to be having but would just like to do something if there is something to be done... does the Raspberry gelatin really help at all and how long before results are noticeable? Smile..

I started using bio-oil about 4 weeks ago and cannot believe the difference. I am 52 and thought this is just kind of as good as my skin would ever look...but it has really firmed things up on my face and neck. Bought it at Walgreens...I think the recommend came from Carla originally and a few other old-timers have mentioned it in the past.

steroids

My Dr. called in a prescription for Steroids for me to help with the itching from the damn scabies. I am so afraid that I'm going to blow up like a balloon.
I guess it's a trade off, itch like crazy or take the medicine.

My niece lives with us and brought those little critters home one day a few months ago and it has been such a hassle. She was coated. Dr only said to take antihisamines (benedryl) because it is an allergic reaction. Bath in Aveeno colloidal oatmeal bath treatments. she said those all helped, she liked the bath. Steroids are an anti-inflammatory and a last ditch effort to curtail the itch. Weight gain from steroids should be short lived if it is a short treatment period. Poor soul, you must be miserable. I wish you the best of luck and I hope you are feeling better soon!! :(

My weight loss has slowed to a crawl, in my 5th week. I don't have a coach but mentioned it at the Spa where I purchase my IP products and she thinks it is because I allow my vegetables to brown, when I saute or bake them. What do you think, anyone? I know I am not drinking all the water I should so that may be it too?? HELP. I feel discouragement creeping in..........

:book2:I have 1-2 zucchini sauteed til brown at least 5 days a week and have since I started the diet. This has been done on the weeks with my biggest weight losses and the weeks I had smaller ones or stayed the same.
In an ideal (no pun intended!) world we should probably eat our veggies raw, gently steamed or gently sauteed.

From the first time I browned them I asked my coach if this was "illegal" because they were so sweet and good. She laughed and said it was fine and they sounded delicious.

Because somewhere in me I have this "food issue", I asked her on at least 2 more occasions if she felt they could be a problem for me, and her answer was an emphatic, "No."

So the moral of the story for me is to take in all the info and do the best I can. If for right now browned sauteed zucchini is what helps me get through the day and this diet with the success I am having, I'm going for it, with a mindful eye on a commitment to improving my diet as my "food issues" improve one day, one meal at a time. Hope this helps.:dancer:

Thanks Thumper! This does help. I have been browning them all along and have lost 20lbs in 5 wks, but the loss just recently slowed. I am trying to be aware of the amount of fat and have used more spray lately. And as others have suggested, DRINK MY WATER! This morning I was down 3 lbs the last 3 days. I panicked too soon... LOL! And you are right about making this your own and striving for your own best you, one meal at a time!! THANK A MILLION! ~ Lori

Don't feel bad. I'm only at the middle of week two and I already am sick of it. Truly, I think this is a hellish diet for those of us that hate the unrestricted vegetables and salad. I have absolutely no joy in eating anymore. I have tried steaming, sauteeing, grilling and every spice known to man and I still cannot eat them all. I'm getting to the point where I would rather not eat at all than have to eat the veggies and salad. Maybe IP is not for me :?:

I guess the browning has to do with additional sugars in the veggies? They are sweeter when you cook them I believe. Stick with it. No other diet I know get this kind of constant result. Maybe try raw veggies? Measured and bagged ahead. So you planed and prepared. Also my coach suggested the meal at lunch instead of dinner. Also, try the lower carb packets. the puddings are low. I think orange drink too. Maybe also try to time your packets so they are spread cording to your day, and get that water down!!!!

And thank you too Holly Bear. Up to now I haven't paid much attention to the carb count of the packets. If things continue slow for me I will definitely look at that as a way to get a BOOST! I did notice that there are several people who switch their lunch for the dinner meal, good thinkin!!! Water, Water, Water .... I am making a good college try at drinking (almost) all my water this weekend. Thank You Holly Bear, and what a wonderful community you (and now ME too) have here!!

My coach said only the 4 cups veggies are required. The regular lettuce salad is not required. It's just to give you more to eat. I have seen others say it is required but my sheet says unlimited lettuce allowed - not required. Don't know if that will help you.

jency 03-13-2011 07:34 PM

2manysizes... I hated the vegetables.. and I'm about as picky as you can get when it comes to food. I think around week 3 or 4 I began to like them and at about 6 weeks I loved then and was even disappointed if I was out of one of them for my salads or stir fry.... I can't remember where I had heard this but it says that a baby has to try a food 20 times before they will like it... maybe we are all just a bunch of big babies... sooner or later you will come around to liking them :)

I sometimes blend the heck out of softened veggies and add them to soup, skip the salad....getting kinda tired of the salad myself. It worked out great with boiled celery root (never used it before!) or broccoli mixed into my chicken soup. I had plenty to eat without the salad.
Check out all the recipes for clever ways to disguise veggies by cooking them different ways.. boiled mashed radishes? Turnip fries with chili on top? Rutabaga chip in the oven? Baked cauliflower and broccoli "trees" kids even like! I hope you are able to hang in there 2manysizes..... it will be so good to feel healthy again, that's what keeps me going......I already am getting a taste of it at 5 weeks. And it "tastes" wonderful!! Cheers to us ~ Lori

Hi everyone. I'm sick as a dog. If I hadn't had a flu shot I'd think I have it. I guess it's the worst cold, cough I've had in years. My youngest son came home form college Friday night and I was living for that. He brought a couple buddies with him. I wanted to be able to give him a hug and cook some nice meals. But I don't want to contaminate them. I'm going to doctor tomorrow. The boys ordered my favorite pizza. I want some. I can't breath well enough to chew any substantial protein. Had 2 eggs. Even though I feel so sick, I'm still hungry. Have a headache, tired. Is it allowed to have chicken broth on IP? I tried all different ways to search the site but only saw broth mentioned for recipes. I'm still in phase one.
