How much coffee are you drinking? Do you add anything to it?

How or why do you think the coffee is the culprit?

I do drink coffee and likely more than the 1 cup recommended (is that 1 cup measured or 1 cup/mug...cause my mugs are big ). I never have more than the 1 oz of skim milk though so if I get another, its black. And then I take a sip or too and move on. Its a good trick on myself!
I haven't had any reason to believe that is a problem yet, so just wondering.

What about adding something to the water to make it better tasting? I am short on idea's for you because I just love water...but maybe someone else has an idea?

I know guys lose faster, so I'm not letting it get me down, even though I am a little jealous! I actually look forward to Wednesdays now. I can't wait to see what kind of progress I've made next week!!
AWESOME!! My hips/thighs haven't budged much either, but eventually it will HAVE to get to them, right ???

I am going tomorrow to buy more food and would like suggestions!! I am ready for something a little different. This is what I have tried:

Capuccino Drink (yum)
Blueberry, Cranberry & Pomegrenate Drink
Peach and Mango Drink
Butterscotch Pudding (super yum)
Mushroom Soup
Chicken Soup (ew)

I am limited to the Drinks, Puddings, Soups, Gelatin...and it seems like something else....oh, the Cereal. Not a real big cereal person, but if it is good, I may try.

Does anyone have a favorite?

My coach quit on Monday & I struggled with what to do, stick with it, bail, find another provider to go through. IT appears that I will stick it out. The IP food was on short order this week, but has been ordered!

I am off my ULTIMATE BOOTCAMP that my coach put me on last week. Back to the 3 IP packets & 1 self prepared protein & the regular list of veggies. I still have alot of my "bootcamp" veggies & will attempt to finish them before they go bad. If I have a low weight loss week next week, then I will return to bootcamp style till the end.

I also started exercising yesterday. I did 31 minutes on the treadmill, about a 17 min mile. Need to pick up my pace, but think I did good for my first time in a VERY LONG TIME. Also held hand weights & my back notices that new pain today!

Thanks friends for helping me the past week, I was a WRECK, physically & emotionally to.
Thanks, Meghan
what is Ultimate Boot Camp about? What kinds of veggies and how many packets of food did she suggest for you? Not something I will be trying; just curious about the suggestions coachs are giving! Thanks!

Did I just read the chocolate and vanilla shakes are 6 to a box and the others are 7 to a box...but in my office they are all the same price.

Forget about that! Too expensive to be shorting me a packet!!

I am not sure if you are able to buy individual packets; I hope so. My coach allows us to "mix it up" so I have tried everything more than once and only buy 1 each of the premade vanilla and choc drinks. The premade vanilla is an GREAT coffee sweetener for me. The choc drink with Ice and 1 oz skim milk is a passable to good shake.

I am limited to the same products you are. My coach will not budge and allow me any restricted foods til I am past 70% of my weight lost or maybe past 100 days of success. That said, here are the things I like!

chocolate drink -excellent for a hot chocolate fix, I heat the water and the put it in a blender and blend the packet in to keep it very smooth. you can go the other way, blend it first then heat as you would soup be be careful to stir alot over low to med low heat or it will scorch.

Pina Colada - my favorite!! so easy to drink, very tropical definate coconut pineapple flavor! In a blender with Ice it is a good smoothie. I have even frozen it from that state and it makes a sort of italian ice if you freeze/scrap/freeze until you get the consistency you want.

Crispy Cereal - is ok. quick not bad to taste. smallish portion, like rice crispies in powdered milk. I add a little sugar free vanilla torani syrup to make the flavor a bit better. Works for a change and in a quick moment.

Omelette with fine herbs and cheese!!! ... have you not tried them yet? OMG, they are amazing!! So great! I eat them for breakfast or lunch or even dinner if I have my meal at another time of day. The portions are good, you can make scrambles, omelettes, or crepes with them depending on how thick you make them. They microwave well for quick cooking. I add extra cooked veggies with them or make like a tortilla/crepe and roll the veggies inside! YUMMY!

Pineapple Banana drink - is good. some really like it. For me it is a 2nd tier favorite only because I can really taste the splenda and it isn't a taste I prefer. Outside of that it would be great!

Vanilla Pudding! Double YUM! Next to butterscotch this is my favorite! It tastes like cake batter and is so easy to "doctor" up for whatever. I have added extracts to it like: orange, mint, cinnamon, lemon, cherry or maple. I have also added the sugarfree coffee syrups in caramel, hazelnut, chocolate, raspberry. It never fails to taste great! It is excellent to make a vanilla shake with too if you add a bit more vanilla into the blender!

Rapberry Jello!!! SO good as a hot drink. A good jello! I wasn't sure how I would like it but it's yummy and it has the highest collagen level so it is very helpful, along with increase water, in helping you skin return to its natural tightness. Gotta love that benefit!

Wildberry Yogurt!! WOW! My absolute favorite. It satisfies my desire for a little fruit with the dried berries and for the creamy milk that I am missing. I can have it for breakfast, lunch or a snack so easily. It makes a good smoothie/shake too.

Like banana laffy taffy??? If yes, definately get the banana pudding. If not, avoid it. IMHO, it tastes exactly the same! LOL

I have had the lemon pudding it is ok. I usually doctor it with poppy seeds or use the WF blueberry syrup to create a "swirl" in the pudding. It tastes nice that way.

I really like the pink lemonade too. It is very similar to a crystal light pink lemonade, again, just my opinion here!

If you are looking for some solid new choices, my advice, if you haven't tried them yet are:

Vanilla pudding,
Omelette with fine herbs and cheese,
Wild Berry Yogurt Drink
Pina Colada drink,
Chocolate drink,

NONE of the above I have mentioned are restricted so, you should be ok if you choose any of them.

Can't wait to hear what you picked!
Carla

Isn't it strange that we get a slightly different story? Oh well, no loss, I don't care too much for green peppers UNLESS they are cooked!

I am missing my onions but not enough to worry. My coach said if I wanted a cooked onion I was better steaming them. so, at least I have a warm onion option if desperation hits!

This is what I would eat Breakfast Orange Pancakes, Lunch Protein Chili, salad and veggies, for dinner I will have skinless chicken breast and veggies and side salad.. snack pudding. am i doing this right? two restricted meals and any others would be non restricted correct? someone please help. thanks!
you can check the trantiendiet.com site for more information on this and DEFINATELY talk to your coach. It is easy to say what I am aware of but easier to make a mistake advising you because there are several modified programs and alternative programs based on your needs and health. ASSUMING you were on a regular program in phase one with a strict coach! SEE all the assumptions LOL This is what I am advised to do!

NO restricted foods for at least 3 weeks ( or in my case 70% towards my goal weight). Then you may have one per day EXCEPT you may only have beef stew or spaghetti 2x per week MAX TOTAL.

Based on that I would say you should choose between the pancakes or the chili. Plan a regular IP packet for one meal and a snack. Finally, plan a "real" meal you make.

Do you like the taste of lemon, cherry, orange, mint, berry or cucumber? You could try to put a fresh slice or so of lemon or cucumber in your water then chill it in the fridge. If you like the fruit flavors use a bit of cooking flavoring. A drop or two works very well. You could also try a small.. really small.. amount of the sugar-free syrups with splenda by torani, artisan, or da vinci. It will sweeten the water and add flavor so, don't use to much. just enough to know it is water that is more tolerable to you. The syrups MUST be from splenda and it will say on the label on the front or on the ingredients list as sucralose. Anything else MAY through off the body chemistry you are creating. They syrups can be bought online, at ross or tj maxx, at cost plus world market, sprouts, sunflower, whole foods, & many grocery stores.

Way to go!! You are right on track for the weekly average loss for women. Just think if you do that every week, you will lose almost another 16 pounds by the middle of February!

Hey everyone! I tried this diet out a few weeks before Thanksgiving (talk about bad timing!) and was so very impressed! I decided to save up my money and become even more motivated over the holidays so I could come back in January and be completely ready. I have spent a little over 2 hours reading many of these posts and I am excited to start IP again on Monday. Thanks for all the encouragement I can't wait to share in everyone's success!

Dispatcherliz - According to Dr. Tran, you're not supposed to have more than one restricted packet a day, so you might want to replace the chili with a soup, or the pancakes with the cereal.

Mom22 - I know exactly what you mean about the water, I've definitely found that my weight fluctuates more when I don't drink enough, rather than steadily declines. I used to hate drinking water, sometimes it would even make me feel ill, but now I'm used to it. I just keep a Nalgene bottle with me, because if it's there I'll drink from it. I keep thinking of treating myself to a filter that you put on your tap, but I can't really justify the expense right now.

Meghan - That's awesome that you had such a great loss last week! Over 40 lbs in under 3 months is incredible, I hope to reach those numbers. Just be sure to eat more if you'll be working out, even if it's just a hard-boiled egg a half hour after you finish.

Elishatamar I know Liliyta gave up her evening cocktails and some foods prior to starting this program. My daughter and I went in cold turkey. Interested in where you are going to pharmacy school, my daughter is a sophomore in college majoring in biochemistry and so I know she knows how much this makes sense and how she had to do it 100%, she just had an unsupportive boyfriend and apparently wasn't ready. I on the other hand, almost quit myself, but I really would love to get under 200 pounds! Thanks for the advice, and I have to say this forum really does help.
I'm going to pharmacy school at Mercer in Atlanta.

Having a lot of support around you does make a HUGE difference. My fiance (who I live with) is 100% behind me on this, and is very impressed by my dedication (namely, that I was able to not touch the two pumpkin pies I made for his family for x-mas). If your daughter is just a sophomore in college, that can make it tougher to be on this diet, because you have to give up most of your social life for it. I remember my sophomore year at Tech, and while I didn't go for pizza and fast food, I did do a good amount of drinking and eating a ton of junk with my friends. I'd be a little concerned as to why her boyfriend isn't supportive of her trying to gain control of her health, though. This diet is really the closest thing to a "quick fix" as you'll get, other than liposuction, and if she understands the science behind it, it's a lot easier to change your habits for the better and not gain it back.
