Ahhhh! I just ordered my GWF! I've spent a lot of time wanting this and worrying about it...but I am inspired by OrganizedChaos' experiences~so I am joining the world of BB/GWF users.:carrot:

Yay!! Dewdrop, I'm so glad you ordered yours. I wanted to tell you after your last post that I was struggling with guilt over buying mine too- I should spend the money on my daughter, the house, save, etc. instead- but I realized my health is a good investment!! If I take care of myself, I can take better care of everything else :)

I hope you find your investment in your health rewarding :)

:carrot: You are going to LOVE IT! :carrot: A investment in your health is never a bad decision. I haven't felt this good since before I had kids. It has really helped me see where I can give an extra effort in my physical activity and logging my food has helped me see what changes I needed to make to my nutritional intake. You are pretty inspiring yourself with over 90 pound lost already. What sort of plan have you been following?

dewdrop1970 04-26-2010 03:39 PM

Thanks so much for the well wishes!

As far as my plan so far, I have been following WW with exercise (Curves & a ton of Walk Away the Pounds dvds).

My GWF should be here Wednesday~YIPPEE! I hope I can be accurate on the food logging!

OK, had my first official weigh in after 1 week with my GWF today...

2.2 lbs!!

Well, I wish it had been more, but I know this is a solid 2.2lbs and not just water weight, etc... Plus I lost this weight while having a bite of chocolate here and a shot of tequila there. So I will take it!! But I am going to work hard to post a better loss next week!

How are you all doing?

dewdrop1970 04-28-2010 10:32 AM

Congrats nicolejoy! :carrot:

I recv'd my GWF yesterday, a day earlier than I expected.

I still need to make sure the computer settings/goals are correct for me; but I charged it and put it on.

The armband is a little tight! I carry a lot of weight in my arms, unfortunately.

Anyway, I am going to sign up for the challenge in the other thread~just to keep track of my progress.

Thanks for everyone who shared their GWF/BB experiences.

Larger Armband

For those that have the GWF and need to order a replacement armband or a different size - I need the large one (medium is just too tight) - get it from BodyBugg. I was gonna order it from Bodymedia.com for $8.00. I was shocked that the shipping was going to be almost $11 (UPS Ground - the cheapest choice). I called the company and they told me they have had a lot of complaints about that and are working towards a solution but for now that is just what the shipping costs. She told me to check and see if shipping is cheaper on the BodyBugg website because the armbands are identical and work with either. Well . . . the armband on the BodyBugg site was $9.95, but the (UPS ground) shipping was free.:D

I hear you both about the armbands- I have such a chafe on my arm from it, it's getting painful! Thanks for the tip Mama P!

They may be similar/less at 24h fitness.com if you are a member (haven't checked their pricing in awhile but members get 10% off), but the Apex/BB price seems pretty good too!

I did the same thing. I about passed out at the shipping cost of a replacement band, so I ordered a large one from BodyBugg. It is ridiculous that the shipping is that much, it weighs about 8 oz and could be send for a few dollars. I alternate between the large and medium band so I can wash one while I wear the other.

On the Dashboard, as they call the front page that lists everything, click on "I want to log my meals":

Then this (below) page should show up. And then you just enter your calories for the day and click "Save Estimate".

The page will reload and look like this:

Does that answer your question? Or were you asking how to switch over to this method?

Those screenshots are amazing! I feel so cheated being a BodyBugg user... OMG!

I just ordered my GOWEAR FIT system with the display. I am super excited. I don't trust the calories burned on the machines at the gym and I want to know how many calories I burn when I am working out to JM 30 day shred. I know this will help keep me pumped.

Petunia25 05-02-2010 12:32 PM

Hi everyone! I'd like to join the check in...I've had my GoWear Fit since February of this year. I love my armband, even though I've had some difficulty getting consistent losses. I was doing heavy weight lifting and not losing weight (tons of inches, but not the complete end goal). So I've tried working out 2x a day, creating burnout and frustration to reach my target.

One question I've had from the beginning...when I use the program to set my goals, (Lose 2 pounds a week, been exercising 3-5 times per week, and no loss) it makes my target way into the 3000+ range. That is/was completely unattainable. Since Feb I've been using 2680 as a target burn and 1680 as target food. My job requires a lot of desk time and hitting 2680 on workdays seems to often require 2 workouts which is so exhausting! Then I wonder if because I set my own numbers if that is why I'm not losing. What have your experiences been with finding the right target numbers?

nicolejoy 05-02-2010 12:44 PM

Hey Petunia25, that sounds so frustrating! I am at a desk job too, and my target is in the 3000+ range, but I have been able to hit it usually by taking 10,000 steps a day (not necessarily working out). It sounds like there is something wrong...

Have you ever tried setting your goal to 1lb loss a week? It's not 2 lbs a week, but it's better than nothing?

Petunia25 05-02-2010 12:52 PM

Hi Nicholejoy,

I haven't set the goal at 1 pound yet. I agree that it would be better than nothing. Is there a way to reset the weight loss chart? It's a bit defeating (for me) when starting over to be looking at where I could be by now. I'm also doing a bunch of hormone/adrenal tests with my doctor to explore if there is a health reason.
