Anything for food Gary?

Bargoo, I lived in Campbell (on Campbell Ave, and yes, it is right next door to Saratoga) from 1977 to 1984, then moved to Davis for a number of years. Operator, if you like heat move to the Central Valley. It got murderously hot there in the summer. Nice job on the roses.

That is very near me I am about a mile from Westgate. If I may ask, why are you in Amsterdam ? I have visited there a few years ago.
Operator,do not move to Southern California, too many people, traffic is horrendous altho I am sure they will get out of your way if you are driving that big beast you show in your Avatar.

Bargoo, Amsterdam is home, I was born and raised here. I moved to Ca because I married an American. When that ended I decided to come back here. Funny, though, it's like that Neil Diamond song: "L.A.'s fine but it ain't home, New York's home but it ain't mine no more".
I sometimes feel like I don't really belong anywhere anymore, I miss things from America, but if I were there I would miss things from here.
Sorry, getting maudlin here.
Amsterdam is a great place to live, though.

Thanx, Duthie. Nice to know one person on here is interested in living a little longer.

Bargoo-I'm not sure if those So. Cal drivers are intimidated by anything.

Maybe once I get things straightened out with my DD I'll split my time between Bargoo's place and Dutchie's. Kinda become an International Snowbird Mooch.

Wow, Operator, those roses are beautiful! I've never been able to grow roses, but I think it's due to the long endless winters, because there really aren't many roses to see anywhere here. I was amazed last time we were in Nampa, ID to visit DS1-every yard had huge rose bushes all in bloom and they said they just keep blooming all spring, summer and into the fall. I'm jealous.

Happy Weekend All..Hope everyone is having just as nice weather as I am at the moment. We had a week of chilly and rainy weather, but today is nice, sunny and a little wind. Perfect day for sitting out back, and reading a good book.

Another beautiful day here in UT also. Just one more rose bush to plant and I'm good for the year, at least as far as roses go. Plenty more yard work to do after that still, but, it's one of those things I really enjoy.

Poor ronni. I don't think I could live for long in an area without roses. I love them. I need lilacs too or I wouldn't know Spring had arrived. I just wish they would last longer.

Good to see you Peary and Dutchie.

I just need to get me a place with a bigger garden. Even though I am lucky to have one at all in Amsterdam, I crave more. Lilacs are great, Operator. Nothing compares to that scent.

'Round these parts, we have the tulips and daffodils to announce Spring is coming. Lilacs let us know Summer is on the way and Roses to brighten up our days the rest of the Summer. Then, we say to heck with it and go skiing.

This past winter was the first time in ages we actually had some truly cold weather here. It rarely snows and when it does, the entire country winds up on its butt because nobody knows what they are doing on the road.
(I am not generally impressed with Dutch drivers, either in skills or attitude.)
When it does freeze as it did last winter, everybody goes iceskating. Everybody but me, that is, I can't skate if my life depended on it and you can get seriously hurt doing that stuff - as several of my co-workers have found out.

. . . 155 to go.

It is end of spring, almost summer. Kindly cease this winter sports jabber.

What's next, a discussion of the best snow shovel?
