Haha, it's funny you say that because I haven't been exercising either. It's too cold! I've been counting calories hoping the weight would just slowly slip off. Even a pound a week would be great but it looks like I'll be joining you in the gym. =/
Toni -I've been doing strength training exercises everyday (a killer ab routine, arms, thighs & butt) & I'm dropping consistently. Those are easy to do in the warmth of your home & it might help you see some changes.
I'm down to 137.1 today! Adding fruits & veggies has been the key! Plus, I don't feel so gross & weighted down by processed diet meals (although I lost 20lbs with those diet meals, so I'm not complaining about those in the slightest).
Goal for the month is 135 - birthday is Monday & I plan on eating lots of yummies to celebrate
Maddie - the fruits and veggies are exactly what I need... I've been having carb heavy salty foods all week, nothing really healthy. I drink a LOT of water though so I don't think I'm retaining much water after eating those foods.
I think I'm going to start wearing my bodybugg again to track my activity too. It sort of forces to me to exercise in the evenings, or at least keep moving so that I reach my daily activity goals.
Toni - That's the connection I was missing. I was living on Lean Cuisines which basically pastas & breads. It worked for 20lbs, but then my body just wouldn't respond any longer. I was living on Lean cuisines & caffeine. And now that I'm eating more whole foods, the weight is melting off again. I know the plateau will hit soon, but I'm enjoying the change on the scale everyday : )
I'm so upset this morning, I'm up to 134.8. My fluctuations aren't usually so steep and when they are its because of excess salt or dehydration, or something else I can attribute it to but this time there nothing I can think of. In fact, I just finished TOM, so I should be down!! Time to do some serious damage control which means my weekend is going to blow.
I hope you guys are having a better Friday than I am!
Ok after being way up on the scale for a week, even after TOM I'm just barely inching back down, but I need a push. Does someone want to do a competition or challenge of some sort with me!? Like most steps walked each day or healthiest daily meal?? I do better with some pressure. lol
Maddie - it looks like it might just be you and I active in this thread right now. :/
130.5 today, holy crap! I stalled out for a long time... a protein powder I was eating had more carbs and calories than as labeled (UGH).
1 week after cutting that out, and I'm at a new low! I felt so awful finding out something was sabotaging all my hard work, but I'm glad I didn't throw in the towel.
After a week of wobbling around 133 I realized I was eating too little to support my exercise routine. And the ability to move around and being strong is more important then the number on the scale for me. So over the last couple of weeks I increased my calorie intake and began started a more serious strength and core training. I was all the way up to 140 and today I am happy 138 (even though I look thinner then when I was 133) Undereating, wanting faster results is a constant problem for me)
For the last four days I've cut all exercise and reduced my intake to about 1250 and still my scale went UP! I'm so frustrated! Why is it that other woman can lift weights while eating at a deficit and lose weight and mine just goes up? And up? I would understand it if I was trying to get to a super low bmi or a crazy body fat percentage, but I'm not. You'd think after losing 90 lbs I'd have a pretty good idea of what I'm doing, but this just makes me doubt I know anything at all.

It was just a really cheap (sold in bulk) local health food store's brand that was mislabeled. I went through soooo much of it before I found out, too! Guess I'm just glad the labeling was ever corrected, or I'd probably still be eating it today.
I get the feeling this .5 lbs is actually going to be really hard for me to lose, even with all my dieting woes sorted out... The losses have been slow for me even before the whole protein powder thing.
I really think the 130s are a stall point for most people. Just less weight to lose, so it gets exponentially harder to lose it. It's a war of attrition at this point.
