Water is very heavy! The basis of the metric system is that one liter weighs 1 kilogram. Your one pound tkm256, is only about 2 cups! You sweat some, you exhale moist breath, I always have to void after exercising.

Today has been OP and I'm hoping I can continue that way, but there's a box of girl scout cookies in the pantry calling my name. I'm shocked I've resisted this long. Also we're going to a BB game tonight where snacks are plentiful. I know I'm low on cals for the day, but I don't want to go nuts on less than wonderful foods! Agh!!

Happy friday night, feathers!
I had a horrible week trying to do phase 1 of Fat Smash. Crazy cravings all week long, and I finally gave in today (in a big way let me tell ya--piece of pizza, nutella, 3 buffalo wings). In fact, I'm enjoying a glass of wine as I type. So it's back to calorie counting for me. 1800 today. I suppose that's fine, since I was cycling calories before I started the Smash, but I was eating around 1100-1300 all week, and weighed in at 159 today. So I gained? Don't know, trying not to care. This is so frustrating sometimes! I'll weigh again tomorrow, see if maybe today was just a high day or something. I think TOM is on its way, too. bah
I'm buying an elliptical tomorrow.

shasha 12 - you hand in there girl. The hardest part
is to keep on keeping on. We have all been there -
we all know how you feel. Keep doing the right
thing.
This time around for me, I am losing slower than
ever before -- but I am going after a healthy life -
not just a number on the scale. That has made
all the different in the world for me.
I am not on any special plan. I am reading all
I can about healthy foods and figuring how to
eat as many of them in one day as I can. By
the time I eat a lot of fruit and veggies with
a little chicken and fish - I don't really have a
lot of cravings. My downfall is I still like to
sit and much with a good movie.
Exercise and strength training are key parts of the plan.
So get right back on your program and have a good day.

shasha 12 - Thank you for sharing the prillo website.
Everyday I try to read something about nutrition/weight loss/exercise.
That and this forum are what keep me going. It doesn't matter how
much we have read these tips - reading again always helps me!

Good evening!
I've got nothing new. I was thinking that the first of March is just around the corner. Another new month.

Nothing new to say here either. I dropped 2.4lbs this week which I'm pleased about but I'm still 2 up on where I was pre-holiday-blowout. Sigh. Had a damn good time though.
I'm really looking forward to tomorrow. For me, March signifies the end of winter and it's been a horrible winter. I'm really looking forward to a bit of sunshine as my preferred exercise options are all outdoors and I avoid them when the weather's miserable.

hi all! feeling much better I weighed yesterday morning, even after my 1800 cal day of pizza and wine and I'm back to 157. Fri was a high day, indeed. Calorie counting the last 2 days, which feels much more natural to me than fat smash did. I don't know why I ever strayed: I eat right for the most part. so now I know what works best for me, and I'll stick to it.
I didn't get an elliptical, but I've read a ton of reviews online for the Gazelle Edge by Tony Little, they all give it 4.5 out of 5 stars, etc. and it's really cheap right now at Walmart... so I think I'm going to give that a try! All the cheap ellipticals I looked at had awful reviews. Hope to go pick my Gazelle up today, and get this gut moving!
Can't believe it's almost March! This year is flying!
Doughnut! Woohoo!! A drop is a drop, my friend Keep it up!

Had a bad eating weekend since I was at my parents for my dad's b-day yesterday then he took me out to a banquet and ice cream last night and today dh and I ate out for lunch and I lost my mind. I feel like a pregnant elephant right now...so bloated, but I know it'll pass. I'm just going to drink mass quantities of water.

Do you ladies mind if I join in? I'm not quite halfway to my goal and I could really use the extra motivation!
I started my new lifestyle after getting EA Sports Active for the Wii for Christmas and reading YOU On a Diet the first week of January. I started at 186 lbs. 8 weeks ago and in that time I've lost 14 lbs. I aim for a daily calorie count of 1500, but I find I have best results if I let myself sort of zig zag anywhere from 1400-1700 (helps break plateaus for me). I exercise 4-5 days per week with the Wii (I started with EA Sports Active and did the 30 Day Challenge, and now I'm about 2/3 of the way through the 6 Week Challenge on More Workouts). I've gone from eating out 7-10x per week to eating out 1-2x per week. I've changed my diet from fatty, fried foods with very few veggies to much less fattening food, whole grains, and 3-5 servings of fruits and veggies per day.

Hi Stella, We welcome everyone. I am a retired teacher and I just joined
in Feb. I have been thinking about a Wii - do you really like it? I keep going to the store and looking at it.
Sounds like you are doing all the right things. Have you been on this weight journey before? Most of us have. The best thing about this group is the support and that eveyone works on and finding what works for them and then sharing that with the group.
What has made a different in my journey this time is I am not on a diet.
I am on a health lifestyle plan. That took all the stress off me. I don't have a famous number on a scale that is going to change my life. So I read everything I can about nutrition and exercise. Once I started eating all the fruits, veggies, and whole grains the weight (hopefully fat) started dropping. I joined a gym where I go 2 times a week to do cardio and strength training. I workout at home some during other days.
Welcome and good luck!

Danni, I generally have been very good about holding a weight (I'm only 26 though, so I know that helps). I have been a size 12 for probably 12 of the past 16 years (the exceptions being my junior year of high school, my freshman and sophomore years of college, and the last two years). I find I am great at maintaining a weight until I get into stressful periods in my life. That being said, my starting weight was alarmingly close to my all-time high of about 195.
You're so right about the lifestyle change! It has been for me too, and that's why I think this time I'm going to maintain at a lower weight than I have before (or even at the same weight, but I'll be much more toned so a smaller size ). I absolutely adore EA Active. It is the only exercise program I have ever stuck with reliably. It's not for everyone, but for me it provides a great indoor workout (I live in Missouri right now and the weather can get really yucky), and with the 30 Day/6 Week Challenges, it provides accountibility!
Good luck to you too!
