PRAYER REQUEST PLEASE ~ I received a prayer request again for my Aunt's cousin, GEORGE WINGER , 62, of Orangeville, ON, Canada. He had colon cancer; PRZ GOD surgery was successful; and he went through treatments, but new tests just revealed there is a tumor near his back as well. The doctors are hesitant to operate; so we are praying that the tumor will shrink, with the cancer cells contained, so they can operate later on like they did for Pat Belair.
We ask for your prayers for GOD's peace & comfort & healing touch; plus for His Mercy; and Love & Saving Grace for GEORGE, and his wife, Alverna, and family. Thanks, partners.
I asked y'all to pray a while back because I was going through loads of issues and changes happening in my home because of DH's daughter, her hubby and 4 children moved into our home. It took me a while get through to where I am now and make the needed adjustments. It being DH family made it difficult for me to get to the place to where I can under stand what my responsibilies are and what I HAVE to accept and what I do not. Thank you for your prayers. I finally had to go see my Pastor and have him help me know if I was being a monster or what as I was beginning to think that just maybe I was not a Christian. It really helped.
One thing I've learned is that I have to stay focused on the Lord and what He wants me to do before I do what others want me to do. I don't think God really "ordained" this that we are doing, but DH and I believe we were manipulated into this situation, however, we also believe it is extremely important for us to fulfill what we said we will do. So we will see his DD through her schooling, but we are trying to make it clear that this is not a permanent arrangement. I've learned that it is okay to take my life back and do what I believe God wants me to do. These kids have problems, but they aren't my problems. DH and I have bailed them out of situations so many times and they haven't learned a thing. After living with them, we can see why they are in the situation they are in. So I've had to learn to back off and stop doing some of the things I was doing. What I thought was helping was really enabling them to continue down the same road and they were taking us down with them. I see they will probably still go down that road when they move. However, there is good in the midst. We have the opportunity to be examples especially to the children and teach them to be different so they hopefully will avoid what their parents are doing.
Also, I have learned how important it is for me to get back into the Word of God and be more focused on "spiritual" things or the other things won't work. I've joined the YMCA and am working out to improve my health as well as eating healthier. I'm being firm about the things I will do and will not do because I do have a life and I have learned that although there may be problems or a need, God may not intend for me to meet that need or solve that problem. I never felt a peace about this situation but because it was DH's daughter, we thought "we" had to do this. God probably wanted us to pray and be moral support. I would advise others to always get that peace of God before moving into a major situation like this.
Anyway things are better at least I can live with it especially since I know and sometimes have to remind myself that it is temporary. Have some major decisions to make for the fall. I want to go back to Bible Study Fellowship this year. They are studying Genesis this year and I want to take that study. There are a few other activities I want to be a part of as well, but don't want to get too busy.
Sorry this is so long. I do want to thank Y'all for all your prayers.
Rosebud - I pray God's mercy on your cousin George Winger to comfort them through this situation and for healing.
I have a cousin I have only recently met on Facebook. His sister and I met years ago while searching to learn info about our great grandfather. Only thing I've learned of importance to me through the search was that he was evidently loved God's Word, was a devoted Christian and family man who worked hard all his life and it has evidently passed down to all of us as there are many Christians (some in ministry) in the bunch we have found so far. Any way my cousin Thomas Dickerson who is a minister is having tests run next week to see if he has a hole in his heart. Please pray with us for a good report.
Praying for all request that God will answer prayer in these urgent needs.
Trish , I will be praying for your home situation and problems with stepdaughter and family.
TRISH ~ I have continued prayers for your situation and can see they are being answered; plus for Tony's bleeding ulcers in his stomach. I agree with you that sometimes we try to be so overly helpful as Christians that we forget ourselves to the detriment of our own health and well-being. Yes, before you take on anything like this, do pray about it hard. Bringing 6 people into your home for such a long stretch of time is a huge undertaking. Glad you are able to be a positive influence for the grand-kiddies too.
Will send up ^prayers^ for your cousin, Thomas Dickerson, as well that his heart will be fine; and wisdom for his doctors as well.
GOOD NEWS UPDATE ~ I just wanted to pass along another PRAIZE REPORT for Julie Goodwin. I just heard back tonight that her health has been totally restored. She had been ill for a while, but all our faithful partners have prayed her through this health crisis. She was the one with the intestine and colon infections who had a colostomy put in and taken out 2-3 times.
Wow, it is so great to hear that she has been totally healed since we all started praying for her (plus two other groups I sent her name to). I don't think Julie even knows how many people were praying for her. There is no doubt in my mind that it was all those prayers that made the difference. Let us not forget to PRAIZE our wonderful Father GOD in heaven, for this miraculous turn around in Julie's health.
BTW, Julie mentioned to my Aunt that her brother, JOHN, just had ear surgery to reverse life-long deafness. His twin brother was born deaf also, but this surgery wasn't an option for him. We are praying that John will heal quickly and completely; and that his hearing will be restored.
