GARY ~ sending up ^prayers^ for peace for AMANDA. Yes, it must be hard to leave a 3-month old baby, even when it's loving family caring for her: that's very understandable!

Thanks for the prayers...they worked!

As always...

Amanda said when she got to her desk the scripture on he daily calendar was from 1Thessalonians 5:18..."give thanks in all circumstances"...

so she gave thanks for her job, family and Grandparents that can help watch the baby until they figure out day care...

The day went as good as it could, considering the first day of separation.

Bless you all

Martin Luther wrote to his barber, Peter Beskendorf in 1534...

“We have to watch so that
we may not get weaned from prayer by fooling ourselves that a certain job is more
urgent, which really isn’t—and we finally get sluggish, lazy, cold and wary. But, the devil
is neither sluggish nor lazy around us.”

(from A Simple Way to Pray for a Good Friend—a
40 page letter to his barber who asked, How do you pray.

A NORWEGIAN LUTHERAN PASTOR: Ole Hallesby...

Prayer ~

• “Prayer is a labor for which there is no substitute in the kingdom of God. We need to be
reminded of this because it is easy for us to look upon it in exactly the opposite way. We
are inclined to think that when we are real busy in the work of the kingdom of God, then
we can, without danger, spend less time in prayer. This way of thinking is in our very
blood (as part of a fallen humanity). Satan sees to it that it is quickened into life at just the
right time. It is, therefore, necessary for the Spirit of God to burn into our hearts this
mystery - that the most important work we have to do is that which must be done on our
knees, alone with God, away from the battle of the world and the plaudits of men.”

Pastor Hallesby is quite correct in his statements about prayer; very good reminder for us all. I agree with Martin too: that no other job in life than sharing GOD's love & the salvation message is more urgent than praying. JESUS prayed about everything and then said, "My house shall be called a house of prayer." Matt 21:13

^Prayers^ going up that Amanda will find the best daycare for their little girl.

Plus, ^prayers^ continue for all other persons & concerns here too!

Unfortuneately, I have some sad news to pass along today -- we just found out that little NOAH FIGURKA passed away recently. We had been told that the bone-marrow transplant went well and he seemed to be doing better; but it didn't last. He passed peacefully at home with his family about 2 weeks ago. ^Prayers^ for peace & comfort for his parents & extended family would be helpful at this time. Thanks for your prayers for them all.

I am comforted knowing how kind the people of our town were to raise the funds for Noah's trip for the transplant; and that Noah is now at peace in our Father's everlasting arms ...

Because we don't see the whole picture we can never know God's plan for us other than He loves us and when it all comes to pass...

IT WILL MAKE SENSE!

but boy is it tough sometimes to remember that here...

prayers for Noah's family.

Prayers for Noah's family. It is hard but there is a reason for it that someday we will understand.
