GARY ~ I think those are words of Wisdom your pastor has shared becuz if we loved it here too much, we wouldn't want to leave. Thankfully, we know that when we get there, we will have perfected bodies & minds & souls in a wonderful place, where there is no pain or sorrow, no illness nor infirmities, and no tears or fears ... Revelations 21:4 + Rev 7:17
"And GOD shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death; neither sorrow nor crying; neither shall there be any pain: for the former things are passed away." Rev 21:4

Prayer request: my son Gabriel is in colorado at a youth Christian worldview conference. He was evacuated along with everyone else in the middle of last night and they are at a church waiting to return. If God would send alot of rain that would be useful because the wildfires are out of control in that area. Right now the forecast if for hot and dry. My son has been there one week and is supposed to come home on Saturday.
This is a post I got from a friend of mine out in Colorado-- she lives on the edge of the evacuation areas right now. She has things packed and ready to go if she has to leave but also will need to bring her 2 horses, a donkey, her dog and several of her cats and chickens. Her hubby works out of town and this will all be up to her to do if it comes to this. Please say lots of prayers for Colorado and pray that they catch the person(s) who are setting these fires.
Well the Waldo Canyon fire is so out of control. We were under a heavy blanket of smoke all day, thick enough we didnt get any sunshine. Another fire is burninf east & south of Woodland Park and another fire just started N of W.P. just into Douglas County. Another fire is burning out in Elbert. One of our wildlife officers goes to my church. He said he put out 12 fires that people left & 5 on Friday. He also said we are not even hearing about all of the little fires. I sure wish the people setting these fires would be caught. Areas, as the bird flies, that are on evacuation alert are but miles away. 11,000 have been evacuated from the Waldo Canyon fire. Our only way out of Teller Co to the east has been closed all day. I heard WP is out of fuel. Not sure how they will get more in here & groceries. They will have to come in the back way. Teller Co has moved their place for people to go out of WP to the Divide grade school.
Sending up ^prayers^ for the fires in Colorado, esp the areas mentioned above, and the people and firefighters as they battle these fires; plus that they will be able to find and stop the arsonists asap ...
Gary, glad your ear is better. What would we do without our prayer partners ?
I am asking for prayer, also. I had a biopsy yesterday, won't have the results for about a week. Thanks to all and God Bless everyone that is so faithful as we hold each other up in prayer.
Update: My son who is in Colorado Springs for a Christian worldview conference is still evacuated. Said the air quality is very poor and if it doesn't rain, they won't get to go back. He is sad. He saved for over a year to help pay for this trip and sitting in a church with nothing to do in their spare time wasn't part of the deal. Hiking and shopping and lounging in an old hotel was the idea.
BARGOO ~ sending up ^prayers^ for you about your recent tests; and looking for good news ...
PTL, GARY ~ that you made it through that procedure OK; and glad your hearing is better today. Praying the drops will help as your ear continues to heal.
NELLY ~ too bad they could't have continued on with some of the events in the church, esp games like charades and ad-libbed skits/plays and such. We need to pray down some ingenuity and creativity upon that group while they are there. Why just sit around and mope? Like, when life deals you lemons -- make lemonade!!! If I was there with them, I'd put them into groups and start some indoor games, brain-storming & thought circles, and such ...

My son finally texted me and he said they were continuing the same at the church as they would have except no showers! They are taking them to a YMCA which has communal showers and he wasn't interested. Told him to at least try and wash his hair in the sink and wash off.
The situation has gotten really bad, the fire has taken out houses and other areas now, and nearing the town of Colorado Springs. Pray pray for rain or something to stop it. Weather is supposed to have lots of wind today. not a good thing.
The Fires in Colorado are terrible-- I have family out there and they are all OK so far! The Flying w ranch was taken last night by the fire and what a sad loss. The AFA is in danger and part of it has been evacuated. I am going to post a link here for live coverage if you are interested in seeing how things are. Pretty scary. Need lots of prayers.
KAREN ~ thanks for the update on the fires in Colorado; ^Prayers^ continue for them. PRZ GOD that the people are all safe; and may He bless all the firefighters and police for all their great work there. While it is a difficult loss, houses & most things can be replaced; and we'll pray about that too.
NELLY ~ glad to hear that the organizers are planning to find other activities for those young people. This experience could be a good spiritual lesson in realizing how blessed they are to be safe and well when others are losing their homes, etc. ^Prayers^ going up that GOD will indeed use this time to bless these young people with spiritual growth while they are there. Oh Nelly, your son can shower with his shorts or bathing suit on if he is shy; many people do that in communal showers -- so he can still get clean and do his hair, etc.
