Hello Power Gang!
Did the initial walk through today. Just some touch up paint, as the fridge was delivered. We do the final walk through tomorrow morning and look to be closing next Wednesday. It's okay, because we should be getting the keys tomorrow if things go well. I was on the run all day today after dropping my son at the babysitter's house. Did the walk through, a little grocery shop, lunch with a friend, back to apartment to get ready for work, picked up son at daycare, ran to doc's office for son's 2 year check up, ran him back out to the Base to his dad, then I ran to work. Can you say tired? I am exhausted and it doesn't look like it's going to end. I attacked some pizza my hubby brought home because I was starving. Mindi: We are getting a 13" female beagle. She is seven weeks old today. She will be shipped from Oregon in two weeks. We are very excited. Okay, back to work and hopefully some rest. I am off at 12:30 am, then have to be back to the new house to do the walk through at 9:00 am. Keep me in your thoughts that I don't fall over from exhaustion. Chachee(hanging on by a fingertip!) |
oh Chachee! A beagle! I lost my beloved Beagle girl, Holly, just last Christmas..she had cancer and I tell you, its the worst loss I've had to deal with..
I've had beagles pretty much all my life, I can tell you that you're going to have a WONDERFUL, loving, playful, loyal puppy, but she'll be stubborn and she'll be a glutton so hide the food! LOL Also, her 'nose' comes before all else, so take great care to see that she can't just wander off unless you have a safe place w/few cars. Oh I envy you! What will you name her? I hope to see pics! |

So how's everyone doing with their workouts? I STILL have not found the energy to move my butt :dance: after working all day. But I really, really, REALLY need to get it into gear! Sanne, are you starting over, gf? Just browsing through the messages, it looks like you're switching tactics? (No more Power 90???) Are you staying with the Beachbody stuff, or just doing your own thing? I would still like to get a schedule down for the P90. I know it works if you stick to it...it's just DOING it I have the problems with. Wouldn't it be great if it worked by just WATCHING them???? hahaha :nono: Chachee-Congrats on the house and pup!!! :goodvibes: I can't wait until I get to say the same thing!!! That worm really put a dent on things, didn't it??? Why do people have to be so mean anyway??? :mad: Miki-how the heck are you doing, woman? Ladies,
This will be a quick post for me as I am only working half a shift tonight. WE GOT THE KEYS!!!! WAHOO!!! Can you tell I am excited? We didn't close, but that should happen next week. There were a few things that needed to be fixed, but the crews were all there working all day today fixing them. We signed off on the walk through. Really good news is they are special ordering the oven I wanted at no extra cost to us. It should be here in about a week. The builder said to just order it and give it to us. He should, since he delayed our move almost a month and a half. It's weird, because even though I have the keys, it still doesn't seem like we own a house. Maybe when we close and sign all that paperwork and hand over the $2000 check it will seem real. Oh, other good news is that none of the keys worked earlier, so they had to change all the locks out. That's really good news because we were going to change out the locks anyway. Okay, I gotta work a couple more hours then off until Tuesday. Home computer is still down, so I will check in with you ladies on Tuesday night!! Wish me luck!! Chach |
Hi Power Girls! Only time for a very quick post but just had to tell you the good news....for the first time since MAY, I actually lost this week!!! My weight has fluctuated from 198 to 200 since May but today, even after weighing 3 different times thru the day, I am now at 195!:D I am thrilled! ( not quite as thrilled as I'll be at 165 but still thrilled:lol: ) I was beginning to think I'd never lose anymore. My eating hasnt even been perfect so it's true about those plateaus...just keep getting back on track and sooner or later, you'll be moving again. Anyway, got lots to do before bedtime so better run. Just had to share my news. :)

Well Gang--My eating has been terrible and I can feel it. I've been eating pretty much what I want cause I know I'm starting over on the 1st. Not the right mind set to be in. Today we're going to our big fair (The Canadian National Exhibition). There will be lots of walking around, but there will also be LOTS of food! And not the "good for you" kind either! This is one of the reasons I chose the 1st to start over. I knew I'd be enjoying the long weekend. But I'm looking forward to having a good time. I'm taking DS this morning and DH will meet us there after work this afternoon. I want to watch our Snowbirds perform and then stay for the fireworks tonight. Long day! And DS is big enough to go on most of the adult rides! That should be a blast!
COACH--Go ahead and start a new thread if you wish--just let us know on this one when you do. MIKI--WAY TO GO !!!!!! I am so happy for you! Your hard work has paid off. that's wonderful news. CHACHEE--I'm happy for you to for your new home. Glad things went well yesterday. I'll be waiting for you to jump back into your program on September 2nd. MINDI--Thanks for the link. I couldn't find anything for the Power Half Hour, but I think I'm gonna pass on this deal. I'm sure they'll have more deals in the future. I'm going to just keep doing the Power 90 and prove to myself that it works! COACH--I AM starting over on September 1st. I'm starting EVERYTHING over. I will be doing Power 90--I was just thinking about getting other BeachBody products to mix things up, but I don't think I'll do it just now. Plus, I had hurt my knee and couldn't do the Power 90 cardio, so I was doing my elliptical instead. (I've been doing NOTHING for about a month:o ). I'm also starting a slightly different eating plan--Gonna do South Beach diet. First couple weeks are kind of strict and then it gets to be pretty much like the Sugarbusters diet I have been loosely following. SO HOW ABOUT YOU JOINING CHACHEE AND ME IN OUR RESTART at the beginning of September???? Well, I'm off to check the weather for today. At the beginning of the week, they were predicting storms and hot and humid, but yesterday things changed. I want to see what they say this morning! Have a GREAT long weekend ladies! |

Everyone seems to be doing SO well! :bravo: :cp: Sanne-I think I WILL try and start with you guys...I WILL work out a schedule to get in my exercises...and take this dang weight OFF once and for all (That SOUNDS convincing, doesn't it??? :cool: ) hahaha No really, I want to try and get started again, so this will be a good incentive for me. Miki-Way to go, gf!!! You're WELL under the 200 mark! I'm very happy for ya!! :encore: Keep it up! I'm sure you feel alot better the smaller you get. Ugh! I feel gross! I'm still eating poorly. My fault with the bad choices. Way too much pop and starchy carbs! I do have more incentive to eat properly and exercise: today DH said he's worried cause I carry all my weight in my middle and it's not healthy. He wants me around a long time. Ain't that sweet?
The South Beach Diet book was waiting in the mailbox for me when we got home last night. I'm trying to get as much of it read as possible before Monday. The menus and recipes look quite good, so I think this should be pretty easy. I am actually looking forward to Monday. I'm really up for the challenge this time. COACH--I'm so happy:D you've decided to join CHACHEE and me as we begin another journey in a couple of days. I think that's a good idea of the calendar. I've printed out a couple calendar pages for September--on one I'm planning all my dinners for the month and on the other I'm marking in my Power 90 workouts as well as my measurements and weight at the beginning and end of the month. So now that I have it in writing that you're getting back on track, I'll be encouraging you to keep going:drill: :rollpin: MINDI--Hope you enjoy your pizza! Off to read more of that book! |

Ok, what's the deal? I finally get off that plateau then I blow it by not eating right and missing two days of walking! You'd think losing after so long would make me want to do great at least for awhile! Sometimes I just dont understand myself.....I get a compliment or lose some weight so I go blow it.:?: I could just kick myself! Looks like I need to join the rest of you with getting back on track this week. I am promising here and now to do SOME kind of exercise at least 5 days this next week, hopefully 6. I'm not going to look farther than a week at a time. Next week I'll set another goal and so on. Zanne, my sis started the South Beach Diet. She hasnt been doing it long. Lost about 6 lbs so far, I think. Coach, that calendar sounds like a good idea. I havent tried doing that before. Mindi, hope you had a great time in Chicago! How was the pizza?:lol: Chach, looking forward to everything back to normal for you so you can come back more often. How exciting now to have a new house to fix up and decorate. Good luck on finishing up all the little details of paperwork, etc. Well, gotta run. Tomorrow I'll be back to post how much exercise I did and how good I was with my eating.:D ;) Miki |

Just popping in quickly to "report":drill: I made it thru day one of South Beach with flying colors! NO CHEATS!!!!! I'm so proud of myself because my eating has been so terrible for the past couple months. It wasn't as bad as I thought, but I did have a bit of a lingering headache thru the day--I'm sure it was from detoxing. Still a bit headachey today, but I bet that will go away in another day or 2. I did NOT exercise yesterday:sorry: :( On Sunday I did something to my sciatic nerve (I can sympathize CHACH) but not too bad. It was just really annoying and I couldn't get comfortable any way I sat or lay. Today it's better, so I plan on doing the SCULPT today. Today will be trying for me to keep on plan. I got a call this morning that my uncle had passed away in the night. I'm going over to join the family in a wee bit. But I've already decided on the lunch I'm bringing and I'll bring some on plan snacks too. And LOTS of water. MINDI--Glad you enjoyed your pizza! :jeno: :jeno: Didja have a slice for each of us too? LOL I think it's good to enjoy a treat once in a while and you've got the right attitude of getting back on track. MIKI--So you stumbled. C'mon and join us in getting back on track. We know you can do it! Nice to hear your sister has lost on the South Beach program. Gives me hope too! COACH--South Beach to me is mostly like Sugarbusters/low glycemic index eating with a twist on Atkins (cutting out bad carbs) at the beginning. The first couple of weeks are kind of restrictive, but the book has meal plans and recipes--two thirds of the book is just those things. That's what I need is something spelled out for me--all my snacks and meals. I am very bad at NOT planning, so I've been using the menus in the book. If I don't like something (like seafood) then I substitute something else (like chicken) and it's ok to do that. Ok, gotta go get ready to meet up with the family. It's way past the time I had alloted to exercise, but I'll have to exercise some other time today. Let's POWER UP girls!!!! |

MINDI--I'm gonna try to do the weight part of Power 90 later today. When I was doing it a couple months ago, I had gotten up to only 5 and 7 pound weights (depending on the move). I'm going to start out with the 3 and 5 pounders today and see how it goes. So I'm not doing too much really. we'll see how many push-ups I can still do :lol: :lol:
I'm actually eating quite a bit and I'm not hungry. My mom had a nice spread and lots of "legal" stuff for me to eat. I took a piece of ham and spread some egg salad in it and rolled that up. Did the same with a bit of salmon salad. I had taken some string cheese for snacking on and a big bag of lettuce cause I didn't know what mom would have. I added a bit of my lettuce to the roll ups too. And she had lots of fresh veggies all cut up for dipping. I had lots of the veggies too. I'm not missing the bread or crackers and the donuts on the table didn't even interest me. So far, so good! |
