Happy 4th of July!

Hi everyone! Well I got up in time to do my Buns tape before going to the inlaws today so glad to have that out of the way. For lunch, I had a grilled hamburger, a handful of homemade french fries, and a slice of sugarfree strawberry pie. My mother-in-law had also made some sugarfree brownies and had sugarfree, fatfree vanilla ice cream to put on top. I didnt have any of those tho. The pie was really good.

How did everyone else's celebrations go? I hope you all are enjoying your day! Tonite we are going into town to watch the annual fireworks display.

I have to work tomorrow and Sunday, we have to take Josh, my 13 yr old, to basketball camp which is 2 hrs or so away. I'll have to try to get in some exercise somehow the next 2 busy days.

Looking forward to everyone's posts tomorrow!

Hello Power Girls.

I've slipped this week again and need some butt kicks to snap me to attention. My son and myself have been sick and it's just zapped all my energy and I can't make myself get up and do the tapes.

I figured that I would celebrate this weekend and get back on it Sunday or Monday. I could have started tomorrow, but don't know how he is going to feel and it's hard to workout when your 23 month old is sneezing and nose is runny like a river.

Not trying to make excuses, just life happening!

I'll be back on track soon and wish you all the best of weekends and hope your 4th was safe and fun!

Just checking in.

I've missed my workouts the past 2 days. No real excuses, I just feel like my energy is zapped. We've had a few days now where the pollution count is extremely high and those with asthma and other ailments are advised to be inside. I had a few errands to do, so I walked to do them--the places weren't that far away and I was doing my part for the pollution by NOT driving. I've played in the pool with DS and last evening I weeded the gardens. I'm thinking that maybe the pollution got to me (I have asthma) and that's why I feel zapped and I have a sore throat.

We'll see what happens today--I have great plans to get in two workouts, but we'll see:^:

CHACHEE--I hope you and your little one are feeling better real soon. It's probably a good idea not to push it and rest up till you're feeling stronger. Too bad you and your son were feeling yucky on a holiday.

MIKI--Good for you getting your workout in before the the inlaws. Did your MIL have all that sugar free stuff just for you, or do other family members eat sugar free too? Strawberry pie sounds wonderful! Sounds like you had a nice 4th.

We had our long weekend at the beginning of the week(July 1st is Canada Day). Sounds like we celebrate in the same way--BBQ and fireworks!

Ok, I've got stuff to do before the inlaws get here (they pop in every Saturday after they go to garage sales).

I'll check in later.

Mindi 07-05-2003 09:06 AM

Nothing wrong w/a couple days of rest. Did you know that your muscles grow only when they're at rest and can rebuild? So enjoy your couple days and relax. I'm doing the same and tomorrow its back to heavy strength training.

Have a great rest of the holiday everyone!

Zanne 07-05-2003 10:53 AM

Whoohoo!

I got in cardio/abs workout!!!!! Yeah me. We may go up to the inlaws later, so I made sure I got in a workout.

MikiG 07-05-2003 08:28 PM

Hi Girls!

Chachee, I'm going to let you slide by without a kick this time but only because you and your son have been sick which is a pretty good excuse.;) Just be sure to get on track as soon as you both feel better.

Zanne, same goes for you. It's really hard to workout when you're feeling bad and not good for you either if you push too hard. The strawberry pie was very good and not just made for me. My father-in-law has been on a diet because of high cholesterol and my mother-in-law has done low fat for the last 4 or 5 years. She lost about 50 or 60 lbs and has kept it off all this time.

Mindi, you're right about the rest. Tomorrow will be my rest day and tomorrow I'll just do my Stretch tape which is pretty relaxing. Back to the hard stuff Monday.

Well gotta run...Luke, my 11 yr old, is spending the nite with the inlaws since we have to take Josh, my 13 yr old, to basketball camp tomorrow and Luke hates to ride. I have to run him over there now.

Take care everyone

MIKI

WELL!!! Looks like everyone is busy getting in their workouts! :barbell: Congrats for sticking with it guys! :bravo: I know...I've been MIA for quite awhile. :o Am pretty ashamed for stopping my workouts when i had already made it to day 23...didn't want you guys knowing how bad I failed, I guess. :stress: Not that I think any of you would ever judge me or say anything bad, don't get me wrong!! I know how supportive you guys are...just really embarrassed with myself. :( I KNOW this program works. I KNOW I could lose weight and be strong. I KNOW how much better I would feel if I would get this weight off. So why don't I do it? No clue. Lazy is my biggest problem, I guess. We've been doing alot of camping in the last couple of months and you know you can't power 90 in the woods! lol (Be funny trying though, wouldn't it?)
I'm sorry you guys. I'm gonna make a STRONG effort to get back to Day 1 in the morning. (((groan)))
Susanne...my buddy.... just wanted to say thanks for all of your support. I appreciate you keeping after me!!! (Someone has to, eh?)
Okay, I'm GOING to get back at this thing :crossed: (I"ll keep telling myself that...)
THANK YOU GUYS for keeping at it and giving me some inspiration. :grouphug:
Ciao for now,
Kristin  :dancer: :cb: :flame: :flow2:

MikiG 07-07-2003 11:06 PM

Kristin, so glad you're back! :) Dont worry, we all have our setbacks..main thing is that we all eventually get back on track right?? Right!

Did my Abs workout at 6 a.m. this morning..YUCK! I hated every minute of it for sure, but I just knew this afternoon would give me even more reasons to not find time to do it. It was nice knowing all day that I had it done already. I'm going to TRY( not making promises...just TRYING) to get up and do that every morning this week since I have to be at work at 8. I'll let you know how I make it.

It's 10 pm already and I'm tired. I'll post more tomorrow.

Miki

Zanne 07-07-2003 11:57 PM

Hey Gang!

Welcome Back Kristin! Just get up and brush yourself off. Glad you're still with us.

MIKI--Yuck! 6am!!! But you are right about feeling good that it's all over and done.

CHACHEE--Hope you and your little one are feeling better

Well, I got in one workout on Saturday and nothing Sunday. Unless I can count the walking I did to do my errands. At least it was a little bit of something I guess.

Got in my sculpt today. I love sculpt days. They seem to go by so quickly.

My eating has been bad. Way too much chocolate and I was feeling really gross. Sunday dinner at my folks' wasn't great either. I'm back on track now tho. I need to get in more water too.

It's getting late and I better go. I just wanted to check in with you all.

Chachee 07-08-2003 02:52 AM

Hello Power Girls.

Well, it's official, we're all sick at my house. Knock down, drag out sick! I wish I could report that I got my workout in today, but with my fever rocking up to 102, I just didn't think the best thing was to get moving and hike it up. We must have all got the same flu bug, but gosh it's really hit us hard.

Coach: Glad to see you back! We all slide and it just takes time for us to get back into things. I'm glad you posted and it's a step in the right direction.

Miki: Thanks for letting me slide without a kick this time. I promise to get back on it once the fever has subsided! Sounds like you are doing well!

Susanne: Sounds like you are back on track. My eating has actually been good so far. Back off the sugar and caffeine, so I am feeling the headache, but will feel better once I get over my three day headache that has coincided with my flu bug.

Mindi: Great job on your workouts. Some of them sound killer!

I'm keeping you all in my thoughts and hoping that everyone is doing well!

Anyone notice any progress?

I've been lurking around the thread for awhile now. Don't know why I haven't joined in. I started Power 90 on June 19th so if I do my work-out tonight, today will be day 20. I purchased the tapes of of ebay so I only have levels 3-4 but I've been going at my own pace (couldn't resist the deal for $12.00) So so far I've completed 19 days and have taken off 5 days -- if I was on schedule I would have only taken off 3 days but weekends are tough. I was just wondering if anyone has noticed any progress. I know one person (can remember who right now) said they lost inches but no one else has mentioned anything. Unfortunately I didn't take my starting measurements. I may do that this week since I'm still new to the program. I know that I haven't lost weight. Some days the scale says I've gained 2 pounds -- hopefully muscle. My clothes aren't any looser either. With only being on day 20, I'm not worried -- it always takes me a long time to lose. Plus I don't have the greatest of eating habits. But most of you have been doing the program a little longer and I was just wondering if anyone has lost any weight or inches? One good thing is that now that I've been exercising fairly consistently, when I look in the mirror I see myself as being thinner, even though I'm not. The self confidence is worth it even if I don't lose a pound, but I'd still like to know if you guys have had any physical changes. Thanks everyone!

Mindi 07-08-2003 02:27 PM

Well its official, Slim Series is officially Killer. *S* I think I may invest in the Power Half Hour series..I could use that in my BodyRx plan I think.

Anyone have it?

Coachs_wife 07-08-2003 04:48 PM

Hey all! Thanks for the warm welcome back! :goodvibes: I am having SUCH a good day, I hope it can continue for awhile. :lucky:
MIKI-I always know you're gonna get your workouts in! You've got a heckuvalot more will power than I do...or someone has a foot up your behind!! :drill: How is your weight now? I know you were excited about being under 200...just wondering what the hateful ol' scales says now?
CHACHEE-Good grief! Girl, you definitely don't need to be workin' out with a temp that high! WHOA! :hot: Take it easy...Tony will wait for ya...hahahaha :faint:
SUSANNE-Glad you aren't giving up...I definitely need the inspiration! :high:
MAYDAY-Welcome aboard! Daaaaagggg...you STARTED with the 3/4 tapes???? :strong: That's pretty amazing, sheesh!!! I hope you can stick with it! If I had started with the 3/4, I'd be LONG done by now. I can tell you this...I was up to day 23 before I "fell off the wagon". I HAD lost a couple of inches...but I hadn't measured, so I can't tell you how much for sure. Keep it up though...I KNOW this program works, and if you can already do the 3/4, then you should be taking off some pounds pretty darn soon! Keep up posted, eh? :jig:
MINDI-What's up with the Slim in 6 Series? I heard it was a little tougher than Power 90...what's it like? :chin:
I still haven't made it through the Power 90 series, but I can't wait to see the PowerX...stupid, isn't it...hahahha :D
ANYWAY, if I missed someone, my apologies! It's been awhile since I've been here...I need a little time to catch up :O
Have a good day, ladies...I'm off to sculpt! :yikes:
Ciao for now...   :wizard:

Chachee 07-08-2003 05:52 PM

Hello Power Girls!

Wahoo! Fever is gone. Stuffy head is still here and sore throat, but I GOT MY SCULPT IN TODAY! Wahooooooo!!! Oh happy day! I've decided that today is my start day. I am restarting and Coach and I will be around the same start time. I just figured that with two weeks off it would be better to start over. Darn, because I've already done the first 18 days, but I want to be 100% devoted to this program.

Coach: Glad that you are feeling good and having a good day. Stick with us and keep posting no matter what!!

Mindi: I think once I get done with this round of Power 90 I might invest in the Slim Series. Sounds like I need to get my levels up first, though.

Mayday: Welcome and thanks for lurking. I did take my measurements and would love to compare them, but they are packed. I am in the middle of purchasing a house and we are due to close in two weeks, so I will be able to dig them out then. I did this program consistently for three weeks and saw a lot of results. The clothes that were tight around my waist got a lot looser and are still that way, even though I've missed two weeks. I can really tell a difference in my calf and bicep muscles. They are really starting to show the muscle tone. Like you, I would do better if I ate better, but I am working on that.

Here's to a good day!

MikiG 07-08-2003 08:26 PM

Hi everybody!!

Welcome Mayday! :) Always neat to have someone new join us. I am doing the Power Half Hour rather than the regular Power 90. Mine is a 30 min a day, 6 week program with each day targeting one specific area, such as abs, buns, arms, or thighs. I really like the tapes, well honestly I HATE doing them.. , but afterwards, I feel like I've had a real workout. I'm over halfway thru the program and altho I feel great, I'm not seeing any drastic results:?: I read on the Beachbody.com site where some people's success is gradual and they dont see it until almost the very end so I'm just truckin on hoping for a miracle.:dizzy:

Zanne, I've got to keep trying harder on eating right also. I had Mexican for lunch today.:^: Did better tonite..grilled some burgers and ate my patty just plain with a side salad.

Chach, sorry you were feeling so bad today. Glad you made it thru your sculpting but dont overdo it!

Mindi, from what I can tell from the infomercials about Power 90 and from what I've read, for the Power Half Hour tapes, Tony took a year and studied the Power 90 workouts and condensed some of them. Here's a quote from the site:

"Each move provides 2 benefits at one time:

Cardio: If a move didn’t keep the heart rate up, it was discarded.
Sculpting: If it didn’t provide muscle toning, it was set aside

The result is the “best of” what works. No wasted time"

The reason I got that program instead of the Power 90 honestly was because it was cheaper and less days!:D

Kristin, the stupid scale is evidently broken. I'll weigh Fri morning and let you know the outcome, but the last several weeks I've fluctuated between 199 and 202. I'm ready to fluctuate between 195 and 199 for a change! All this exercise has got to be doing SOMETHING! I havent lost an inch or a lb in several weeks..I just dont get it!

Did my Thigh trimmer tape at 6 a.m. again today. After work today, I did some weights with hubby...mainly worked on arms.

Well better go for now. Ready to hit the couch for awhile!

Miki
