Well I missed my workout yesterday. I had a terrible headache and just couldn't do the cardio. I took a 1/2 day at work today, though so I'll be home around 12:30 and I'll get it in right away. I always feel so guilty when I miss a workout. But even working out 5 days a week is better than I was doing before starting Power 90. I weighed myself this morning (I like the a.m weigh in since it's always less!:D ) But not this morning -- I gained 3 pounds! :devil: Oh, well, I'm probably one of those people that doesn't see much difference until close to day 90. And there's always the chance that it's muscle! Plus, I don't have a huge amount to lose and the last ones are the hardest to go. Goal is 20 pounds. Ultimate goal is 30 pounds. Sorry I don't write to everyone indivdually but I don't have the greatest of memories (except when it comes to useless information) and I can never remember who said what. But I love sculpt 3/4 too. Of course I never did 1/2 but like I said I was doing The Firm before this and that really got me used to doing squat after squat. I can't do the one set of push-ups yet -- the ones where you put your feet up on a chair. I also can't do the ones where you put your hands on the edge of the chair and lower yourself down -- the backwards ones. I still do those with my knees bent. Anyway, hope everyone that's ailing feels better and I hope you all have a wonderfull weekend. I live in PA and it looks like it's going to be a nice one. I don't have a computer at home (I'm at work right now) so I'll chat with everyone again on Monday.

Mayday, gonna let you in on a little secret. Took me several days to figure it out myself when I first joined 3FC, but when you click on "post reply" instead of "quick reply", all you have to do is scroll down and you'll see all the latest posts right under the place you're typing your new one. I didnt notice it forever! None of us have memories that great either...we just keep looking back.:lol: Not going to take time to post individually right now because my back is really aching as I'm sitting here. :faint: Ugh.....darn 3/4 Cardio and AB Ripper........sore from 3/4 Sculpt......argggggghhh....BUT I MADE IT THROUGH!
Okay, so I did my cardio walk today then came home and immediately put in the 3/4 Cardio Ab Ripper. For those of you on 1/2 let me give you the differences. 3/4 has three rounds of each exercise, much faster pace especially with the kicks and punches. Power Yoga stays the same. Not as many breaks and the Ab Ripper has the same exact exercises, but just 20 reps instead of 10. The really bad news....................LISA IS BACK! Just when I thought I wouldn't have to see her girly kicks and punches she's there smiling at me with her little body! Grrr... I now have a focus point when I am kicking and punching. Wanna guess where it is? Heehee. I was a little sore this morning from all the extra squats and extra rounds from the Sculpt, but felt real good knowing I needed to step up the exercise. Was sweating like a pig again! Coach: Wow! You have a very interesting story and career! I'm glad you were able to start back to work. Just don't overdo it! Did you figure out when you are going to get your workouts in? Susanne: Yay for getting in your workout! I am going to look at those trainer when we get moved in. I think I would really like them. Sounds like you are recharged and motivated! Go for it! Mayday: I can't do those decline pushups either. I just crack out some regular ones. I think it's a lot of strain on the wrists, anyway. I am about halfway on the chair dips. I do half of them with bent knees. It's a tough workout. I love the squats, though! Mindi: Take care of yourself and don't break anything. Low impact is good for any age, and high impact is a real stress on your joints. Too much jarring if you ask me. Be careful and take care of yourself. Miki: Are you feeling any better? Did you have to take two days off? I hope your muscles get back where they need to be. Well, back to work and then to dinner. I'm actually spluging with pizza tonight. Yummy! Chach |
Good Saturday Morning Power Gang
Hi All!
Well, I didn't get in a workout yesterday:( It was like a bus station here in the morning--people coming and going. Then in the afternoon and evening we had my cousin here for a visit. Plus I had only had at most, 2 hours sleep:tired: I probably would have dropped a weight on my head if I had tried working out! LOL! I KNOW I'll get in one workout today, and I'm hoping for 2. I'm thinking of adding in a little elliptical on my weight days. I can do that while I watch TV. CHACHEE--Thanks for giving us an idea of what 3/4 is going to be like. You are doing great for being there already. I'm kind of looking forward to getting to 3/4 :dizzy: I don't mind the squats, but my knees sure do!:lol: MIKI--Oh Dear! Sorry your neck/back turned out worse than you thought. Take it easy and make sure you're healed before attempting a workout that may aggrevate it again. MAYDAY--Hope your headache is gone now. I'm like you--even tho I've been missing workouts, it's a lot better than when I did nothing. It takes a while to develop a new habit. Your weight gain could be hormonal depending on what time of the month it is. And our bodies can fluctuate too. I'm a very slow loser and have been staying away from the scale so I won't be discouraged. I can do more pushups, a bit more power yoga and heavier weights than when I started--so I'm using my progress as an indication that I'm getting healthier. I do what MIKI said and scroll down to reread what everyone has said. MINDI--You WILD woman! :lol: Like CHACHEE said, high impact is no good for anyone. Just take it easy. Hope the foot is better soon. Ok, I think I'm all caught up for now. Kind of a dreary day here--good for doing cleaning! Bye for now. |

Well, the first day on the job went very well. I was a little intimidated by all of the "rich folks" :snooty: ...that's a little different for me. (I'm used to a hospital in a community where MOST of the people are pretty poor...) Anyway, seems to be a good job...hope my health stays in good condition so I can keep with it! CHACH-I'm so impressed with you making it to the 3/4! Makes me VERY ashamed with not working out...:O I came home after work yesterday, and was so tired I didn't exercise. :tired: I know...if I would just PUSH PLAY no matter HOW tired... :rolleyes: You keep it up for me! hahaa MIKI-I must have missed something? What in the heck did you do to your back/neck??? :chin: You should REALLY take it easy...back injuries are the WORST! MAYDAY-congrats on the workouts! Wish I only had 30 pounds to lose... :yikes: I know the feeling trying to work out with a headache :headache: Amost impossible, eh? MINDI-I still wanna know what BodyRx is!!! Are you keeping secrets?? ahhahaha **j/k** :p SANNE- How's it going with you? Sounds like you have a handle on this company + working out! Ok so I've missed working out two days in a row now. I actually had planned on trying to get thru one last nite but Josh, my 13 yr old, ended up having 2 friends over for the nite and I just couldnt bring myself to make them suffer thru watching me do that.:lol: I'll do something today, not sure what yet. Kristin, all I did to my neck/back was turned and looked over my shoulder, felt a little twinge, and that was it. Ever since then I felt like my back was going to 'catch' and get stuck when I moved a certain way. Weird huh:?: It does feel much better today. Chachee, you're doing great with the exercise lately! Keep up the good work. Susanne, I hope you got more cleaning done than I did. I had good intentions but havent gotten to most of them yet. I have just got to mop before this day is over! Good Saturday Evening!
Well, I only got in my *scheduled* sculpt workout today. The inlaws came and stayed for dinner. I was not really in the mood for doing a workout, but I *pushed play* and the half hour went by quickly. I actually did a few more pushups and I did a whole set of dips (with legs bent), but that's an improvement. I even muddled thru squats and lunges--with a brace on my knee:)
MIKI--Glad your neck/back is feeling better. I don't think I'd want 3 13yr olds watching me workout:o KRISTIN--That's great that you enjoyed your first day of your new job. Now: :drill: GO PUSH PLAY and get in your workout! I felt really tired about 45 minutes ago, but did my workout and now don't feel quite as tired. See this little guy:dancer: He's NOT dancing-He's kicking your butt into gear! you can do it!:D how's everyone else doing??? Hope you all are having a GREAT weekend. |

my foot is much better however, I'm wearing my birkenstocks to work out in! LOLOL you should SEE me flopping around in them. lol but i've learned to not do the jumping jacks now, i'll modify them and not do the fast jog in the slim series, i modify that as well. its too harsh on my feet. I did tone it up on friday and firm it up on sat and I'm SORE today but i'm going to try to do another one. gotta keep at it, right? Coach's wife, BodyRx is a plan by Dr. Scott Connelly that incorporates a nutrition and weight training plan. you never get hungry, you never do cardio...if you don't wish to, that is. His book is now out in paperback and if you run across it, its worth a read. He's brilliant about food and nutrition and for an over 50 guy, does he EVER have the abs to prove his program works!! Its not a fast fix, its a lifestyle program. its set in 3 cyles, 1 you build muscle, 2 you sculpt the muscle and 3 you burn fat. my first go around with it last summer, i lost 23lbs and more importantly, 15.5 inches. then i stopped and tried other stuff and NEVER had any success w/them, so i'm going back to BodyRx. I'm messing w/the slim series workouts tho, i want to see if i can incorporate them cause dr. C says the nutrition is 70% of the battle. If you want to read more about it, pm me. I'll give you a couple websites to review it. Mayday, how's that headache? I have lots of them, sinus and allergy related mostly. I hope you feel better, they're AWFUL! MINDI--Glad the foot is better. I can just picture you flip-flopping in your stocks! That's dedication! HOW'S EVERYONE ELSE DOING??? Hope everyone had a good weekend. Well, I did 5 days of exercise last week compared to 4 days the week before (I count Sunday to Saturday). A couple of days I really DIDN'T feel like doing it, but I did and felt better afterwards. I even started this week off right by getting in 30 minutes on the elliptical last night. I even went further *distance* (by machine's calculations) than I had 2 nights prior, in the same amount of time. My eating is pretty good too. I'm finding I don't crave the junk food so much now. I'm sure it's the exercising that's helping that. I'm actually wanting to eat fruit and veggies:eek: Well, I better go get the morning chores done. I'm going to pop over and take DS to see my grandmother today. I'll check in sometime later :wave: |
Hi all....I really hate to come in since I have to admit I still havent exercised since I last posted.:^: Somehow I just never fit it in this weekend.
My sis is on her way over tho for us to go walking. I'll walk AT LEAST 2 miles, hopefully 3 or 4. I refuse to miss one more day of extra activity!! For some reason, I'm a little burned out on the Power Half Hour tapes. Mainly I think because I can only find time to do them at 6 a.m. and that is sooo hard!! I dont have energy that early! Anyway, next week I go in later to work so I'll be able to do them around 8 am which I can handle. I may just stick to walking this week. I guess anything is better than nothing at all right? Better run and get my walking shoes on. I may try to post again later tonite. Miki |
Hello Power Gang!
I took Saturday as my day off this last week. I think I need to change my week. When I started back it was on Tuesday. I need to change to Monday-Sunday. I did my Sculpt at 10:00 pm Sunday night. Grr....wasn't going to miss two days in a row, though. I was going to do my Sweat today, but it's almost 90 degrees up here and I just couldn't do it. I did up the Cardio Walk I do, and it was 30 minutes with two excellent inclines. I really worked the glutes and hamstrings. I feel like I did a good job and feel it was just as good as the Sweat, so I am counting it as exercise. Susanne: Great job on getting five days in! See, you did better than last week, and this week will be even better! Great job on the dips and pushups! Those pushups are always the ones I have such a hard time getting through. Coach: Rich people, huh? They have any extra money laying around you could send our way? Now get those workouts in!!! And this Monday was a happy Monday for me--we picked up my son's two year pictures. The studio messed up and printed twice the amount of what we ordered, so they gave them to us at 1/3 the cost we paid for the other packet. Now we have more pictures to send out! Happy Monday! Miki: I totally understand about burning out, but get back on track before you derail. Start over and get just one workout in! You can do it, I know you can. Mindi: Glad your foot is better. Just a quickie
I'm pooped and it's time for bed. I just wanted to pop in and say that I did my Power 90 Sculpt this evening. And I did NOT hurt my knee! Hooray! I was very careful with the squats and didn't go down as far as I would have liked, but at least I could go down most of the way.
AND I did 45 minutes on the elliptical earlier today!:bravo: :cp: Hooray for me! I've been wanting to get in some cardio on weight days and today I actually did it! What's even better, is that I must be setting a good example for my son, cause as I was on the elliptical, he got on the exercise bike beside me and did about 30 minutes, with just a couple of breaks for water. He's only 5. He was dripping with sweat. I'm glad he's exercising too--he's got a little bit too much weight on him. Mind you his weight has stayed the same for quite some time, but he's grown several inches, so I think we're doing something right. Hope everyone had a good day. I'm fading fast. Nighty nite. |

Well I didn't get in my workouts on Saturday or Sunday. Took my tapes to my parents but didn't do them. I find it hard to stay in the routine when I'm away from home. But, if I look from Sunday to Saturday then I did get 5 days in. Did my cardio last night. I hate doing it after work because I don't get home until 5:30 but I do have more energy later in the day when it comes to cardio. Plus I just haven't been able to drag myself out of bed at 5:30 am! So I feel a little guilty about missing so many days last week but I'm just going to pick up and start again. I just can't seem to get that 6th day in. Oh, well. Have to get back to work before they catch me on the Internet! Have a great day! |
Girls, be careful on those squats, make sure your form is perfect to avoid that knee stress like Zanne mentioned. Better to do a more shallow, good form, squat than go too deep.
I worked out friday, sat, sunday and monday. Today I'll rest. I did SS F, S, S and the Firm, last night, so I'm sore and needing a break today. I may do a little stretching tonite, but that's about it. Packed my cooler w/my food. I may not have mentioned but I carry my own food w/me every day. I can't find decent food to eat in my office area, so rather than be tempted by french fries and such, I carry my own every day. How do you guys cope w/food? Off to work, have a good one! |
