Thanks Josephine, for you kind words and support. I know that you can do anything you set your mind to. Racing at an 8 min/mile pace would be totally doable for you!

Sigh.

I have developed this weird pain in my back. Never had it before. Trying to self-diagnose (always a bad thing!). It is worse when I walk and worse when I run, so I have not gone running yesterday or today. I'm still lifting weights and eating well, but I am frustrated that I have made the choice to not run these past 2 days.

I know that rest is good.
I know that missing 2 days of running is not going to propel me back to > 200 pounds.
I know that I need to figure out what the heck is causing this pain.
I've been stretching and resting and I finally took some ibuprofen this am. I work today and leave first thing tomorrow for a Girl Scout trip, so the soonest I can see a doc will be Monday. I hope it is gone before then.

Just had to whine a bit.

And three more 124/500. Running the same hilly route almost every day. Need to start stretching it out!

I'm finally over the flu and back on the road. Ran a pretty relaxed 5.41 miles this morning and finished faster than I expected since I still have some congestion hanging around. It feels great to be back out on the roads!

Xmas challenge miles: 206.23 miles ..... 293.77 miles to go!

Midwife -- you sure recovered from your back injury quickly, yay! I felt the same frustration you did missing running days while sick. But I'm glad you are all better and back to the running you so enjoy!

+4 = 98.5.

And my back issue keeps coming and going. And coming and going. Different things aggravate it, like driving 4 hrs or standing calf raises with 380 pounds at the gym. I think it might be musculoskeletal (kidney stone had crossed my mind). (Bad, midwife, STOP self-diagnosing!!!)

But I can live with it for now. Next time I am around a family practice person I'll run it by them.

I was on the treadmill today for 5.93 miles (missed my outside running window) with incline starting at 4 and going all the way up to 15 (that was double-tough)! I'm trying to get in a bunch of incline work in prep for hiking in Acadia National Park at the end of this month. I'm hoping to find a nice climb/hike of Cadillac Mountain when we are up there.

Xmas challenge miles: 212.16 miles ..... 287.84 miles to go!
