Mad Sorry you had a bad eating day. Seems we all have that from time to time. I've been having problems the past few days. However, you will be fine because you will get right back to your plan. Glad you are getting much needed rest.

Carol Sue I hope your DD will enjoy cooking her first turkey. It is nice of you to go to that trouble to help her have a good chance of having a good turkey dinner.

I've had another day of eating too much. I over ate carbs, calories etc. today. This has caused me to see that trying to eat low carb only makes me overeat. So it is obvious that I need to stay on the WWSF lowfat woe. So I will go back on it tomorrow.

Goodnight.

Weight stayed the same today. I did not stay in my eating window. Have completely lost control of my fasts.

DH has had the heat too high during the night OR I'm just hot for some reason. I got up at 9 to let the dog out and the burst of cold air coming in the door felt so good! Our temps are in the 30s. I wear summer nightgowns all year round but put a tee shirt underneath in the winter. I like to be cool to sleep.

I am going to tell step daughter what to do and let her do it. If I do it for her she will not learn. Would you invite company for Thanksgiving if you had no clue how to cook a turkey? What was she thinking? I'm helping because I don't want her to embarrass herself or her guests to end up with food poisoning.

We have to go to the bank today to get my debit card.

Carol Sue She is probably so excited about being in her new home that she never gave it a thought. LOL I hope things go well for her and it turns out great.

Weight up to 182.2 just thinkful it wasn't any higher. So I am back on track on the WWSF today. I don't know why I do this to myself. I need to get off the keto groups on FB and just stick with regular diet foods etc like they show on the WWSF group. I see the keto recipes and then I think I can do it, but I need to face the fact that my brain just doesn't go there any more.

I've decided to do 3 meals a day. It doesn't have to be meals 4 or 5 hrs apart. My FBG always liked that best and I want to get back under 100 reading and stay there. I may have to start doing something for supper because DH gets hungry. He has been eating cereal in the evening and I will have to watch to see how that affects he FBG. As for myself, I'm thinking about making some homemade soup for me with 0 pts foods. Of course, I will count the veggies since I count calories, but it is good to think along the WWSF food plan when it comes to the evening meal. Plus it is going to get cold and it will be nice to have something hot to eat. I could make a batch and put it in the fridge and eat a bowl or cup each evening.

Hope you get things straightened out with your debit card.

Trish, I think you are right about Step daughter. Last year I didnt host Thanksgiving but I cooked her turkey because I can fit 2 12 lb turkeys in my oven and her DH came and picked it up. But she got a 20 lb so I cannot cook both hers and mine. I will get up early and make my stuffing then when I get home from her house it will be quick to stuff mine and put it in the oven. It is our tradition to cook the stuffing in the turkey instead of dressing in a,casserole dish. I think that is a southern tradition. One year I stuffed the turkey but also made dressing with corn bread and sausage. I was the only person who ate it. I like to try different things but my family wants things to stay the same.

Since you and DH stay up later you need something to eat in the evening. My DH always eats something in the evening that he makes himself. I try not to but I go to bed early. Does your DH still eat Cauliflower? I ate it a lot when I lived alone and started eating it again. I like it with parmesan cheese.

I'm surprised that eating Keto is making you gain. I wonder why. It is always better to stick with what is working. You have done well with SF and maybe that's what is best for you. I gain if I try to hard to follow a plan. I try to make sure I'm eating everything and that doesn't work for me.

I think I would try using some dark meat chicken here and there and if you don't gain then its ok. There is a nutrient difference but not a big difference. I like both dark and white meat but prefer dark.

Carol Sue I gain on low carb because I overeat. I don't do that when following a regular diet plan or WWSF. I am better at portions with SF than I am on low carb. I don't know if I would change and it would slow down, but I don't want to take the chance of gaining back up to or even close to 200 lbs to find out. It is safer for me to stick with the SF calorie counting.

Did y'all decide to go to DD after all or are you just goint to help her to get things started?

I used to stuff my turkey with the dressing as well as make a huge container of it because everybody wanted it more than they did the turkey. Then when I married DH and moved to FL no one cared for the cornbread dressing so I made a batch for me and DH DD made stuffing. Funny thing is that I grew up with Mama making a mixture of half cornbread and half bread stuffing because that is how Daddy's Grandmother made it. I never made or ate cornbread dressing until DH#2 and his family ate it that way. My then SIL who was from Washington state used to make oyster dressing and I loved it but never made it myself.

DH still eats cauliflower but I think he is getting tired of it. He used to eat a whole bag a night, then he went to a bag lasting 2 nights and now it lasts him 4 or 5 nights. He feels too full if he eats too much of it. He has always eat something before he goes to bed and he may need to stop that. If he had a small meal earlier in the evening and then go to bed on an empty stomach, he might feel better.

I am going to a 10 hr eating window for a while. I read that some people do even 12:12 so you are still fasting and it still works. They say you may lose slower but I lose slow any way. I would only do a 12:12 if I was going to do 6 hrs between meals but that would throw me eating to close to bedtime and I don't sleep well when I eat before bedtime.

Turns out I have made the right choice of not having anything Thanksgiving day because it is supposed to rain here and I would have had to cancel it because there is no room in this house for everybody to be inside.

No, I am going to DDs early in the morning to show her how to make stuffing and get the turkey in the oven. Then come home and put my own turkey in the oven. We are not vaxxed, and will not do indoor gatherings until the virus slows down a bit. This is my reason. DH hates to go to someone's house to eat so he is happy with my decision. So I am allowed to be the boss as long as he agrees!

I usually make a lot of stuffing because everyone likes it, but SILs sister is bringing a casserole of her dressing because that's what her family likes. I think they were disappointed that they would not have it this year. I'm curious to hear what kind of dressing it is. I like all kinds but my family does not. Step son does not eat any dressing or stuffing. He is a low carb eater without realizing it.

When I do low carb or any other plan I think I can eat as much as I want as long as its on-plan food. Maybe that is similar to what you experience. I started losing better when I shortened my eating window and I regain when I don't stick to it. I still try to keep carbs under 70 or so for blood sugar.

I considered making a corn casserole for our Thanksgiving vegetable but that will just encourage me to over eat. I have a habit of serving corn at Thanksgiving because DH and DGS both like it. I just need my vegetable to be as low calorie as possible. We both like turkey and that's the main event. DH will be watching football all day and I will be reading. A relaxing day for us.

I made my vegetable soup. I didn't know how to count it on MFP and it shows loads of sodium which I am sure it would never really add up to that much because I don't add a lot of salt just enough for me to taste it as I do like it a little salty but not too much. Of course the pizza we had probably had a lot because of the sauce and the cheese.

I waiting 5 hrs between breakfast and dinner, but ate the soup and a diet ice cream cone for supper. Calories were almost 1150. I think I ended up with a 7 hr eating window today.

Carol Sue I guess that is something I like about the WWSF is that most grains including corn are 0 pts. We will probably have corn on the cob with our ham and salad and I will have the stove top stuffing. Unless DH changes my mind, we don't plan a desert. We will watch the Cowboys game and then watch movies after that.

No scale today. Just not in the mood to see a bad number.

I never add salt to my vegetable soup because I use canned vegetables, canned diced tomatoes and beef bullion. I got used to it over time. DH adds his own salt and I'm not able to change that. Most home made foods are impossible to count on MFP. You get an estimate at best.

I went to the bank and retrieved my debit card. They said if you enter the wrong pin 3 times it confiscated your card. It was DH using the card. I am very careful when entering my pin.

I never used to like Stove Top stuffing because it was too spicy. They might have changed it because I've made it lately and it was ok. DH likes it. Sometimes when I want mashed potatoes I use a package of instant that is only 87¢. DH doesn't like that so when its for our dinner I make them from scratch. When we were at Wal-Mart I bought a couple of those packages to have on hand. We were laughing because some people might have thought I bought them for Thanksgiving dinner. But our potatoes will be fresh potatoes. I think the instant are good! But not DH. I use gravy from a jar or a mix. DH doesn't like home made gravy because his mother's was terrible. I never learned how to make home made gravy because he wouldn't eat it. When we have leftover turkey he likes it with mushroom soup instead of gravy. I am really looking forward to turkey as I only have it on Thanksgiving. Your ham sounds good too. We have ham on Christmas and Easter. Family tradition that I'm not allowed to change.

Around here, dinner and supper are the same thing, the evening meal. The midday meal is lunch. I know that different parts of the country refer to the midday meal as dinner. After we retired we started eating our evening meal earlier at 3 or 4. I try to eat 2 meals, at 11 am and at 4 pm. I have not done as well lately at closing my window at 4. I call them breakfast and dinner. DH also eats lunch.

Today I want to finish my cleaning and laundry. Tomorrow I will bake pumpkin pie and chop vegetables for stuffing. Before I go to step daughters on Thursday I will make my stuffing and have my turkey all ready to stuff when I come home. DH will have the first pie gone before Thanksgiving even gets here! Maybe I will surprise him with a pumpkin roll, too.

Remember the fiasco with the coffee maker we ordered? It never came, so they sent another one and said if I receive the original order don't return it, just keep it. So the first one did arrive, 2 weeks later. The second one was due to arrive tomorrow but it showed up yesterday. Today I got an email stating that shipment has been delayed and it will be arriving on Friday. Do these people know what they are doing? Am I going to get a third one?

Hi friends: 157 today so the damage is not too bad.
When I switched to stuffing my turkey with rice, it is really popular. I make extra and mix the stuffing with the extra and that gets the flavour right through. I use rice and wild rice cooked in chicken broth, salted, and added to sautéed onion and sage. As you may realize, the gluten in the bread stuffing would prevent me from eating turkey stuffed that way.

Carol: your step daughter can also review you tube videos etc. That is what my DD did when she first started hosting holiday meals. It was a smaller crowd, of about 9 or 10 people only.
At least while it rests after roasting she can do the gravy, and if everything else is done, it will go smoothly. I take it you are now attending?

Have a good week leading up to your holidays and family gathering.

No Mad, we are not attending. I am going to her house early morning to show her how to make the stuffing and stuff the turkey. From there on it, she's on her own. I don't think they have a computer right now to check any Youtube videos. She is having a small crowd, 8 people total, so far. Only step son has a house big enough for more than that. I think getting the turkey ready is the big thing and she will be able to do everything else, and her guests are bringing dishes. When I had it here, guests would pitch in and help when everything started to get ready at the same time. It will probably be the same for her.

When I still worked, the cafeteria used to serve stuffed chicken breasts stuffed with rice stuffing. It was delicious. I never learned how to make it though because my family, especially DH would not eat it. I should have married a foodie, like me. LOL

Running late so this may be a quick one as DH will be up and ready to go pretty soon.

Weight down 1 lb from yesterday back to 181.4 which is amazing since we had homemade pizza. Actually I've cut back on the portion sizes of some of the toppings so I am eating less calories. That plus it being day one of Lasix this week really helped with the sodium.e

I've never had the rice stuffing. DH #2 and I went to a Thanksgiving or Christmas gathering with one of his step-mother's family and one of her SIL brought a rice salad which was made the same as you would potato salad and I really liked it but I never made it myself. Not sure any of my family would have liked it. DH isn't much of a rice person so I know he wouldn't eat it. Any way I can imagine the rice stuffing being a good substitute as a GF. I won't even make potato salad this year because he isn't eating potatoes very these days. I figure with the corn, we won't need any other starches/grains.

I asked DH if he wants a desert for TD but he said no. He is really working at trying to get his FBG down so what I may do is just make us a fruit salad. I've been eating dark chocolate to deal with my sweet tooth at this time of year, but will soon stop that. I just work it within my calories but I did need to pull that back.

Carol Sue I said I ate within a 7 hr window yesterday but it was actually 8 hr. I did 5 hrs between breakfast and dinner and then 3 hrs later had supper. In the south we usually say breakfast, lunch and supper. I married DH who was from IN and they seem to do breakfast, lunch and dinner. Since our lunch is more of a supper, I call it dinner and then I have supper for my 3rd meal. Just a "me" thing.

Hope everybody has a great day.

Trish, I never heard of rice salad but I love rice so I was intrigued. I googled and found there are many types of rice salad but I found 2 that were made with mayonaise, just like potato salad. I might try them sometime.

I didn't take the magnesium last night and I didn't have any energy today. I don't know if there's any connection. I guess I'll try it again tonight.

I made pumpkin roll for DH today. Its a favorite of his. I'm not crazy about it. Tomorrow I will make pumpkin pies for Thanksgiving. I'm making 6.

I'm glad to hear your weight is going back down, Trish. I'm rooting for you! I think the way you're eating works well for you and allows you to eat your favorite foods. This is something you can continue the rest of your life and Keto is not.

I just woke up from a nap so I guess I will go take my evening pills.

D H is going to miss the casino tomorrow. I think he was going to suggest going today until I said I was going to make pumpkin roll. I'm betting he will want to go on Friday.

Bad eating day as I had over 1600 calories and went longer than 8 hr eating window so will have to make some changes or just not worry about it until after Thanksgiving day. However, I forgot that I always have a problem of eating more on KFC day. So I guess it was actually a normal day under the circumstances.

I got a small sliced ham for our meal Thursday. I will make the fruit salad for desert. Your pumpkin roll sounds good but DH wouldn't eat it. He looked at pumpkin pies and read how many grams of sugar and put it back. I told him if I was going to eat sugar, I would want pecan or cheesecake. Walmart used to have 1 serving size sugar free diet pies but I haven't seen them since the pandemic.

DH found cherrios with 0 g sugar for him to eat for dinner. He says he doesn't want me to cook a meal at night so we will just eat cereal or something like that. I would rather have something simple as well.

Carol Sue I was wondering if your DH would want to go to the casino tomorrow?

Hope to get a good nights sleep. Hope I can get sleepy soon.

Trish, I don't understand why we can go along so well then have some bad days. We just need to look how far we've come.

I always preferred original Cheerios with no added sugar and I don't like sugar on my cereal. That was why I didn't like the Multi Grain Cheerios. I don't understand why they put sugar in any of them. I hope your DH can eat them without sugar, or use artificial sweetener.

Lucky for me I don't care for pumpkin pie or roll. It does have a lot of sugar but DH loves sugar and doesn't think its bad. He and his brothers grew up eating lots of sugar and they all have a lot of pain. However I eat very little sugar and also have pain.

I decided to make 4 pies. 2 for step daughter one for step son if he wants it and one for DH. He doesn't need 2 because he has the pumpkin roll. I have the ingredients and can make more next werk.

Lots of people will go to the casino on Thanksgiving. They are having a special Thanksgiving buffet but it is $30+ per person. Too much! Too many people. We go on days when its not crowded. DH would go every day if I agreed!! He would gamble away all our money.

First 2 pies in the oven.

Trish, I just realized what you asked. Yes, DH probably would want to go to the casino today but I told him already that I am baking and getting ready for Thanksgiving, so no. I would stand firm on this. He can skip a week! But he will probably want to go Friday.

Since we did so bad last time he mentioned going to the new casino nearby. It is small and we only won there once. I really don't want to go this week. I can tell him I'm sick, but I might get sick for lying.

Carol Sue DH missed the sugar when he ate his cheerios last night, but I told him to put stevia in it. Funny how men think. He said he didn't want to have to get the bag out to do it. Duh! I reminded him that I have a container of it on the countertop that I use out of all the time. I forgot that he could put his strawberries in it that I cut up and he adds stevia and water too.

I thought you had a casino closer to you, but couldn't remember if you liked that one or not. Can you read there like you do at the other?
I could eat pumpkin as a 0 pt food on WW but I forget to buy it. It could be used in other things for the taste without pie etc. I guess it is psychological to think of it as a holiday food instead of anytime.

My weight was up only 1 lb. So that is good. I finally went to MFP and tracked what I ate as best as I could and if it is right I had less than 1700 calories. Doctor’s have told me to eat 1800 calories to lose weight which I’ve never agreed to. If I gained 1 lb from one day at 16?? calories, can you imagine what damage 1800 calories would do?

I went back to eating what I want not what I should have. I wanted French toast. I make mine different from what I have seen online. I just take 1 egg and beat it with Mrs. Dash and it makes enough to dredge 2 slices of SLMG bread and pan fry in butter flavor spray so I only have the calories from 1 egg and 2 sl bread. I got the idea from a friend who I knew in high school who would take a slice of bread pinch the middle out and throw it away and crack one egg in it and then spread the yolk over it. I had that with my collagen coffee.

We are having shrimp scampi today and I think I will drain the fat off of my shrimp and add it to my salad. I changed some things up and will still eat an 8 hr eating window and have less than 1200 calories today.

DD told me yesterday that her bs is not doing well and she is afraid the doctor will put her on insulin. I told her to stop eating snacks. I hope she can do that and that it helps her.

I told DS that we are both going to have to start getting out more next year. She is losing interest in weight loss and has gained and is embarrassed about getting out. I don't want to let her get that way again. We need to get together more next year. Isure hope we can. It will be up to me to get things going. Everybody and so much changed because of covid etc.

Have a nice day everybody!
