Trish, I couldn't figure out CB. Canadian bacon? I had scrambled eggs and 1 slice of toast. DH made a sandwich of just lettuce and tomato so I ate half. We are finally going to Texas Roadhouse. I'm not sure what I'm ordering but I need to stay away from the rolls. I had enough bread today! One 35cal Nickle's and 1 regular white bread.

___________________________

I had a steak salad at Texas Roadhouse and it was delicious and very filling. I had a $25 gift card so we had a cheap dinner. We got there around 4 pm and just in time. It got pretty busy after that, people waiting in line, and when we were leaving people were pouring in. Luckily they are not short handed.

Sorry about that. I figured with the egg, muffin etc that you would get the Canadian Bacon as CB. I write such long posts, I figure I need to cut down where I can.

Except for the original breading on the KFC chicken, I was pretty much OP with 0 pts foods. However, I have to admit that I am probably over doing some of it. Hopefully by the end of the year, all this will come together.

On the way to the store I told DH that I am going back on WW and eat lowfat and do as much fat free foods as possible. I don't like the Air-fryer oven that we bought last year so I cleaned up yesterday and decided that I am going to give it to my babysister and tell her to see if she or any of her kids want it or sell it. I bought me another Air-fryer like I had before the oven. I like it much better than the oven. I watched a lot of good meals being cooked in this kind on youtube so I don't have to use fat to fry.

Carol Sue I'm glad you were aable to get your TX Roadhouse steak. You said steak salad. Does that mean the steak was actually in the salad similar to some of the Wendy's salads. That sounds so very good. I wish DH still like Wendy's burgers because I would love to get some of their salads sometime.

I napped when I got home so I hope I will be able to sleep good tonight. I hope Fatmad is doing okay after having her booster.

Trish: maybe I should look into an air fryer. I like crispy foods, and while I don't mind the fat per se, it sounds like a tidy option as well. We are getting some kitchen work done in March, and maybe afterward there will be storage space and counter space to contemplate such a thing. What did you not like about one brand and liked about the other?

I was 156 after my fast yesterday am, and I ate well. I was really tired yesterday, which is how I have responded to all my Covid vaccines, so no surprise there. Other than that and a slightly sore arm, no side effects. The other times, the (extra) tiredness just lasted a couple of days, so hope for same this time.

Kicking off the holidays tonight with a Christmas concert at a nearby city. Taking a friend who is having open heart surgery just after Christmas to replace a faulty heart valve. He is in his 70s and quite overweight, though he has lost about 40 pounds since becoming symptomatic. Just want to enjoy this with him, in case. Certainly hoping, praying and even expecting he will be fine. Just like my Dad, eventually after some complications he had several years of good quality time with us that he would not have had without his surgery.

Trish: don't change too much from what has been working for you. I know you mix it up a lot but you have done amazing with a balanced approach.

Have a good day everyone.

Terrible sleep last night. I thought Magnesium was supposed to help.

The steak salad is like the grilled chicken salad. The steak is 6 oz sirloin I think, grilled and sliced on top of salad. Salad has greens, tomato, onion, cheese, bacon, croutons and fries. I omit the cheese and bacon, and pick the fries off and give to DH, sometimes I say no fries. I mostly just like vegetables in salad. Actually, it would be cheaper to order the steak with a side salad and a side of vegetables, but I was in the mood for a big salad. For a little more they have a fillet salad that I've never tried.

The air fryer oven I bought is the only air fryer I've ever had. I needed one that is also a toaster oven for other things. What do you cook in your air fryer? I bought the same one for step daughter and they make tons of stuff in it. I don't use it much because DH doesn't like very many foods to begin with. I am going to try chicken tenderloins to see if he likes them. Most things i cook i like to use the grill pan. I dont fry anything. DH likes french fries cooked in oil.

He loves Wendys, but I never think to get a salad. I love the chicken apple pecan. Someone told me the only difference between the whole and half salad is the whole has more lettuce so I get the half and add more lettuce at home.

Last night I was thinking that I DO NOT want to start the year with a gain. So I am going to get back on track starting TODAY! There is no try. Its either DO or DON'T DO. I might not lose, but I want to stay in the 180s at least. I saw 190 for a split second and that just won't do. I won't get on the scale today after the poor sleep last night but tomorrow. We will probably go to the casino tomorrow, like it or not.

I hope to get more cookies done today.

I went to Kohls to do an Amazon return. I looked at jewelry and bought a ring. (costume jewelry). It started out at $60 but was 60% off, then with the coupons and Kohls cash I had it came down to $3.00+. Happy! I saw a lot of nice stuff and would have liked to look around but it was crowded and I have a lot to do. It would have been impulse buys, things I don't need! Then next month the bill would come in the mail!

My day turned out much different than I had planned. I decided to take the air fryer out of the box because I wanted to have it ready to set up when DH got up. Turns out it wasn't like the one I wanted. One thing I hate about Walmart is that they had them displayed but you couldn't see the drawer to see what you are getting. This one was round and too small for all I want to cook in it. I wanted a larger oval size drawer. DH found one that was open and it is more like what I wanted. I had watched some videos on them on Amazon so I knew I could use it. So the other one has been returned and exchanged for the one I wanted.

Fatmad Glad your feeling okay with the booster. Sisters and BILs didn't have any problems with their either. I hope we can get ours over with soon too. How nice of you to take the gentleman to the Christmas concert. I pray his surgery will go very well him too.
As for the air fryer I had, it is just preference. it was a toaster oven type and I never used it much because it was too small. In fact it was so small that I had to buy special small pans for it which would not have been so bad except that it was difficult to clean. In my other toaster oven which is larger but not airf fryer, I can use foil to help with cleanliness but this one is so small it warns you not too and I think it is because when I tried doing it any way I was afraid the foil would catch on fire. Trying to use the wire tray for frying some of the food would fall out. I never had that kind of problem with the drawer type.

Carol Sue I know how you feel about not want to start the new year with a gain and I certainly don't want to get up into the 190s. Weight today was up .6 lbs and I am not sure I will have a loss tomorrow or not. But so far weight has been 183 to 185 and I DO NOT want it to go higher. So I am going to work harder at staying OP so that I don't.

Fatmad Thanks for the suggestion. I'm not going to change a lot of what I am doing. I plan to do a moderately low fat, low carb woe. I don't want to go fat free totally, but I know I'm not good at strict low carb either. So I figure if I can kind of balance the 2, it will be a win win thing for me. I honestly think the air fryer will help with that too. I am looking forward to cooking some healthy baby back ribs in the air cooker along with some roasted veggies. I watched a woman on youtube last night cooking them in her air fryer. I realized how many other things I can cook and eat healthier cooked in it and the nice thing is the clean up will be so much nicer. So many good WWSF foods that I can air fry and still be lowfat/low carb.

Carol Sue I think the the popcorn and the magnesium are causing me potty issues. I don't think I am going to eat the popcorn or take the magnesium for a while.

HI everyone: pretty happy with the 156 again today, because it confirms the 156 from Tuesday. I seemed to have trouble getting and staying below 157 before, so I will take the 156 for now. My sister called last night and we are meeting up about 1 hr north of me and 90 minutes south of her place because she wants company shopping in a place she has never been. Within my old stomping grounds for work. We may have lunch afterward, but there is nothing GF in the town we are going to, so may go farther afield. Its kind of silly, but its nice to hear from my sister. We go up and down in our closeness, and I had sent her an email inviting them to visit at some point over the holidays. If this is her response, I doubt they will visit, (between covid19 and her husband being not social) but this is fine too. She is supposed to go to Europe for meetings for her volunteer work with wiki-media but I suspect they will cancel that, and I will hear about that today.

Thanks for the info about the air-fryer Trish. I bet one or more of my co-op neighbours has one that I could borrow to try at some point. Then figure what I like. I am glad you found the one you want. I have had a couple of different deep fryers and found different features meant a big difference in ease of use.

Carol: I agree, don't wait for the New Year's resolutions to get going, light that fire now. Be gentle with yourself if you go off plan a bit with company around etc, but yes get going now.

Have a good Thursday friends.

I slept until 9 am today! Not the best sleep quality but more of it. I feel great! I wish I could sleep til 9 every day, but the early mornings are my quiet time.

Sounds like you are doing well, Mad, sticking to plan and holding losses. Good.

Trish, you are experimenting with WWSF which is what always worked for you. I think it is the low fat and more fiber in vegetables.

I would do well with foods in the air fryer but DH will not eat meat with a bone. I think he would be fine if I never cooked meat. Its all about potatoes for him, mostly deep fried.

For me, I need to emphasize protein and vegetables ANF a smaller eating window. Today is,casino day. DH bought Egg Mc muffins but I did not eat mine. I will just have coffee and eat my McMuffin just before we leave. Then I won't get hungry while we are there.

I'm going to take my shower now and I can clean the living room while I watch my soaps. We are not leaving until 3.

Dec 16 2020 we got 9.7 inches of snow. Today, one year later it is 61!!

I forced myself to get on the scale and was pleasantly surprised to see 189 again and not a higher number. I put on my size 14 jeans right out of the dryer and they fit. And my rings are twirling on my fingers which tells me my fluid is low. So I am happy today. This has such a good effect on my frame of mind, even though in the long run weight is up and no where near what I want it to be.

I still haven't eaten my Mc muffin and might save it til tomorrow. DH made tuna salad and I might have that on 35 cal toast. I will add more celery. I am feeling a little hungry. My skin on my arms is looking very dry. I can't decide what to do about that. I have all kinds of lotion but none of them seem to really help. I feel that something dietary should help but I'm not sure what. I know I have issues with dehydration. I can only drink so much water without spending so much time in the bathroom.

Wrote a post earler this morning and lost it. Wish I knew what I hit that does that. So decided to do something else and got busy. So will try posting again.

DH is up earlier than usual today which is good. He is having to clean out the shower drain so we can take a showers. I got ready to take one this morning and the shower wasn't draining right. Hope he was able to fix it so we won't have to pay a plumber. Now he has decided to mow the lawn.

Fatmad Enjoy your visit with your sister. I hope you will be able to find some GF or gluten safe foods.

Carol Sue I think I heard we were going to have this crazy weather this year because we are in a La Nina which causes warmer winter weather. Yesterday morning I was using my little heater and by early evening we had to turn on the AC.

I don't cook a lot of bone in foods because of the trash. I usually take bones and put them in a bag and place in freezer till trash day. So most meat I cook is boneless. However, there are some foods that just taste so good that I can't resist them. I think the air fryer will make them healthier as well. Air fryer doesn't make thing fat free, but I think this one says 70 or 75% less fat. Hope your casino day will be a good one. Which one are you going to this time? Congratulationsf Glad you were able to wear the size 14 jeans.

Weight is up to 186.6 so I have managed to gain 6 lbs since Dec 1st. I need to get busy if I want to get back down to my starting weight of this month. So I am going to work at doing better the rest of this month. May not get down to 180 but hopefully I will be less than where I am right now. As we know it seems to take longer to lose that gain than it did to get there.

Trying my hand at cooking air fried fish today. Then I will roast some veggies in the air fryer after I get the fish done. I wanted to try cooking the steak I found in the freezer but the steak was freezer burned. So I will have to get some steaks when I go to the store over by the beauty shop tomorrow. I want to get the ribs too. Also I read that soaking the meat in FF buttermilk causes it to hold its moisture when air frying with breading. I am looking forward to using this AF. I liked the 1st one I had but it got a scratch in it and I had to throw it out because I read it was unsafe to cook in it once the type of pans etc get scratched.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Aiir fried fish was very good. Will cook it that way again in the future. Ended up eating only 2 meals and a small snack of grapes and cherries. So did very well today.

We had a terrible night at the casino but what do I expect after 2 good nights! The good part is I didn't eat there. DH wanted to get a hot dog to go and eat it while driving home. I wanted a salad and I can't eat that riding in the car. I told him to go ahead and get his hot dog but he won't get anything if I don't. Silly. He ate peanut butter crackers instead. I waited until I got home and ate a salad at home.

I hope DH was able to fix the shower.

I'm sorry to hear your weight is up. I don't understand because it hasn't sounded like you have been off plan. I want to go back to eating more fiber. I was reading an article that says if your good bacteria doesn't get fiber to feed on it will try to get it from your stomach lining and cause, damage. I want to read the article again to be sure I understand and I will post a link.

Sleep not too bad. I'm always achy the morning after. It might be the long car ride. Long = 1 hour in this case.

Nothing planned for the next few days except cookie baking. I have some dough in the fridge that needed to be chilled before baking. I'm sure DH wants to go somewhere. He hates to stay home.

Last night I ate some popcorn before bed. I must have missed my mouth a lot because when I stood up popcorn fell all over the floor. Vacuuming is first on the list of things to do today. Too bad Rusty doesn't like popcorn!

Carol Sue Sorry y'all had a bad casino day and then not to have a good nights sleep to boot is not goood. I hope you are feeling better now.

My weight is up and no surprise since I was eating some treats that I didn't name here because I didn't want to tempt any one. I found some Christmas items made with ingredients I remember eating when doing WW although the ones I eat at other times are Christmas ones. Funny thing is the weight went up but the FBG didn't. Another oddity is that while the cookies didn't raise bs, the fruit I ate last night caused my bs to be 105 this morning. So go figure. I think if I had eaten something with it maybe it would not have gone up. It is the only day over 100 that I have had this month.

I decided that I have time to get things straightened out before January 1st. I bought foods that are more low carbish but WWSF type foods as well. Did you know you can get frozen unbreaded chicken nugget like pieces. I finally found the turkey patties baby sister told me about although I thought she said chicken patties. They were frozen too, but didn't get them. Not sure I want turkey patties. Although I compared fat content etc in turkey and pork sausages and the turkey has less. I'm not really going fat free, so can have the little bit of fat. The goal here is to find SF friendly foods that I like and build my plan around that. I probably will do more of a low fat, but I personally think I need the nutrients that I get from some of the grain and starchy carbs I eat. Carol Sue, maybe it has something to do with what you read on fiber. As we get older I think our needs change. I know I sure have to eat different than I did when I was younger.

I ended up fasting today so won't eat until we have our main meal today. I got a nice slab of baby back ribs and cut it in half and we will have half today and the other half is in the freezer. I got a 10z container of shrimp with cocktail and I think I will have that for a snack tonight and have just a 2MD. So I am set for eating OP through the end of the year. Even if we decide to go to baby sisters for Christmas dinner, I've got broccoli and eggs that I will make into deviled eggs and broccoli casserol to take with us and go help her cook.

Got my hair cut today and next week I am going on Thursday instead of Friday. I told her I didn't want to go any where Christmas eve. The funny thing she told us is that Christmas eve is the day all men go shopping for Christmas. She said on Christmas eve the Target parking lot is full of trucks and men running into shop. LOL I decided to change my appointment to Fridays at 10 am instead of 9:30. I would like to start getting up at 7:30 instead of earlier to go to the beauty shop and this will fit my late hours up with DH.

Hope everybody is having a good day. I have no complaints and would feel guilty if I did when I think of all people have lost this year especially those who went through those horrible storms and lost homes, busines and some even lost family members. So I have to say I am truly blessed and I am thankful for what I do have. At the same time remember all of them in my prayers.

Trish, blood sugar goes up for various reasons, not just what you ate. I know you are only talking about several points, less than 10 and that is really nothing to worry about, as long as it doesn't continue to climb.

I cant believe Christmas Eve is only a week away and I have so much to do. DH could help, like going to the bank for the money and money envelopes. He ran out of milk yesterday but would not go to the store that is 1 mile away. But he went 3 miles to Dunkin Donuts this morning for donuts. For those things, i have to go, even though I'm busy with other things. He told me his job is things like cleaning the car. Even though the things I'm doing are for HIS children. Everyone wonders why I'm so grouchy around the holidays. I don't get to sit back and enjoy. Bah Humbug! I just reread your last paragraph and felt so guilty for complaining. I am happy that I still have my loved ones, and I still have a home to clean. So many have lost everything.

________________________

I read over that article about fiber. It was very technical. I couldn't understand it except that not eating fiber is damaging to your gut lining.
Maybe I can get more information elsewhere than I can understand.

We went to Rodneys for fish. I wasn't very hungry. I was snacking on cookies while I was baking. I think I only ate 2. Had to make sure they were ok.

Carol Sue I'm sure the raised bs was not so much about one evening of eating fruit, but the days of eating the cookies etc. I think I forgot to say that I was pleased hat my weight stayed at 186.6.

I have griped and complained about my house being so small and one day I heard there are people here in town who live under one of the bridges and it made me realize how blessed I am. So I have stopped complaining and starting thanking God for all I have. I guess that is why seeing that whole town of Mayfield losing everything as well as so many deaths has really hit me. It is bad enough to lose so much but for it to happen at Christmas time is really bad.

I tried making my own rub for the ribs but I didn't like it as much as I would have if I had just cooked them with some seasoning and just adding the BBQ sauce. I've never used a rub... mine or anyone elses. The meat was tender inside but tough on the outside. Will try something else next time. I ended up with a 20 hr fast. Right now I feel as if I could go without eating anything else today but I do have back up just in case.

Carol Sue Men are so funny aren't they. Sometimes I don't understand their thinking. LOL

I never make ribs because DH would not eat them. I got ribs at Texas Roadhouse and the meat just falls off the bone. DH tried a piece once and just shrugged. I know not to bother.

Continuing reading about the fiber and why we need it. I know that die hard low carbers don't agree. Some of the articles said that people are eating less and less fiber and some of the gut bacteria are becoming extinct, and in turn newer generations are being born without it, and it is resulting in more cases of gut diseases like Crohns Disease and IBS, colon cancer. I also read that the amounts of fiber they recommend are based on a 2000 calorie diet. Since you and I don't eat that much our requirements are lower, 14 grams per 1000 calories. So when I was getting 18-19 grams I was doing good. I'm way below that now.

Carol Sue Maybe the potty issues I have had is caused from the fiber because I thought we needed 21 to 25 g. If what you read is true, I was eating way too much fiber.

When DH#2 was living, we used to buy Country Style Ribs which are boneless. I would rather get those but DH didn't like them. I may trdy to get them and fix them. I think he doesn't like them because they have fat, but I could very easily cut the fat off after they are cooked and they would be more moist.

I ended up eating a 2nd meal of air fried sweet potato fries and shrimp cocktail. I am happy to say that I had a 20 hr fast and a 4 hr eaing window. I've been tired and could have taken a nap a few times today but managed to not ever take one. Thankful for a good OP day.
