Hi all....
Today started really great... MD office called with bloodwork results... my cholesterol is down to 160 from over 240 ish... my LDL is 'normal' at 98, down from 160's. I've been on Crestor for only 3-4 months, I was on Lipitor last year and had horrible side effects, my entire body was STIFF... couldn't walk. I guess the diet changes and increased exercise etc... helped me..
I was so excited... No A1C result yet... I'm hoping they tested the right blood... jk..LOL... those are really big changes in a few months... Anyway, the rest of the day was good. No chips today LOL... Turkey/broccolli/little pasta for supper, no exercise yet.... still early... perhaps a walk...
Hope everyone is well. I love reading about everyone.. hagn...

Cool

Hi, all. The good news is that it's cooled down here to the 70s, which is more tolerable. The bad news is that my apt. elevator is not fixed and won't be for at least four more days. Looks like I'm going to have to spend most of the weekend at home.
Jeanne - Your boss should be ashamed of himself - not turning on the air conditioner. That sucks. I hope it cools down in your area.
Caroline - I take Zocor and it really works for me. My numbers are go.
To all the missing, be well, and have a good weekend.

Hi everyone..
Sounds like everyone is really busy. TGIF here too. Get some rest this w/e..
Jeanne..Is it early to be that warm out there ?
I'm in NH... its rainy 50's, I love it... I did have the AC on a few days ago, it was 80 here, I couldn't get my place cooler than 75 with AC on full, when I spoke with Mgt office they said it was because the HEAT was still on... ??? Huh ? Yup, they 'have' to keep it on for the 'elderly' until we have 5 nights of 50+ degrees ... I've never heard of such a thing.... in the meantime I'm cranking up my electric bill trying to get comfortable... I say put on a sweater !!! Oh..sorry that kinda turned into a rant didn't it ?... LOL...
Overall today was ok, I too, am glad its Friday... Enjoy the w/e everyone... And to all a good night...

Oh wow . . . today is awful . . . both weight and BGL are sky high . . . and I deserve it -- had a major cookies and NSA icecream meltdown yesterday.

Hey . . . this is another day . . . and it will be a definite OP one for me.

It's also a long weekend here in Canada -- Victoria Day Weekend is the traditional time that everybody opens up their cottages for the season and does a lot of yard-work also -- hope the weather gets a little better -- very overcast and foggy right now. Of course, it is quite a bit milder than it has been the past week (hence the fog), so things are on the up-turn.

Hope all of you are having a great moving and shaking weekend . . .

OMG . . . as much as I'm tired of our dreary and unseasonally cold weather, I definitely do NOT want to trade for your heat . . . guess I'll stop complaining.

Stomach has settled back down, weight is still up, but since I had a good day yesterday and am planning another today, hope it will soon 'blip' back down again. BGL has settled back to normal levels. Of course that might have something to do with the fact that I'm up way too early this morning (4 am) so it didn't have a chance to do the 'dawn phenomenon' thing. Hope to fit in a nap later.

Other than that, mostly SSDD around here -- have to get a few fresh vegetables (can't live without my spinach, cauliflower, or broccoli supply) and one of the local chains has sea scallops on special (today only) so planning to have those for dinner. Have to fight off the cats, though. Whenever I'm having fresh seafood they try to follow the fork right into my mouth.

Keep things moving and shaking and have a great rest of the weekend.

Good evening! I am trying to navigate this new place on this first day I am here. And I headed here first. I am Type II, since 09/06 and struggling alot. I have been on the "I give up" train since Christmas, because I may have the tools, but I cannot get how to live with this disease. It was easy 23 years ago when I was a gestational diabetic with my first child--it was only a few months. I need to try something new, I guess. So I hope you don't care if I jump in and join, and maybe ask a lot of questions along the way. I need to find how to add one of the trackers and some other things. I am not on any meds, I keep in the 95 - 105 blood sugar range when I try to, about 120 on vacation. I dread going in June when I will have my A1c repeated. I don't know what I need to get going again. My food "prescription" fits no plans, so I am tired of constantly adjusting everything written that I come in contact with, so I have quit planning ahead as well. Back to square 1, but I want to do it a new way. I need to lose about 75 lbs, I guess. But that is overwhelming me. I would like to start my 50th birthday lighter and happier and healthier. I seem to have found a fun group to chat with here. Guess I will check in later, dinner is ready and then it will be time to get the little one off to bed. It is our last week of school--when did that happen! And the week after that, the oldest goes back to college. AAAAAHH! There is NEVER enough chaos in my house. See you later.

Kathy

to the group, KATHY. So glad you found us. We are here for you, Chickie so ask all the questions you want and we'll try to have some answers for you.

It is definitely not an easy disease to get a handle on -- heaven knows I still have moments of confusion after 20 years. You are definitely doing something right to stay in those kind of BGL ranges without medication and you are also heading in the right direction by getting on the weight loss wagon. Not a single thing you can do that will have a greater impact than getting rid of even 10% of your weight.

Unfortunately, because of a lot of nasty spammers, we have had to restrict the ability to get one of those weight trackers until a new member has been here for at least 30 days and has at least 30 posts. Just keep posting and the time will just fly on by and then we'll be able to help you with it if you need assistance.

Looking forward to getting to know you better . . . have a great evening now,

Hi Kathy, I think you'll be happy you found this site. There is a lot of support here.. I've been coming to the site at least once a day for a couple of months, so I guess I'm still a newbie.. I am type 2 on insulin (for now) reading and posting here has really helped me a lot.. Good luck to you and see around the forums..

Good Morning Sugar Babes . . .

BGL is doing okay this morning but weight blip is still with me -- think it's water, so hopefully it will be leaving again soon.

Overcast in Northern Nova Scotia this morning -- but you never know what might happen later. Yesterday started like this and turned into the nicest day so far this year. So, I'll just keep the and since this is a long weekend here in Canada, I'm sure there are a lot of others wishing for the same thing. Actually, nothing exciting in my plans for this Victoria Day. Hope to do a little quilting later on -- I've really got to stop spending money on more and more quilting fabrics or I'm going to need an addition on the house soon. Oh well, guess it's better than spending the money on fattening and BGL-spiking food.

Hope everybody has a great moving and shaking kind of day planned . . . see you all later . . .
