I am still alive and kickin'. I fired my pottery and glazed and fired again. I got a few nice pieces out of the kiln and listed them on my Etsy shop. I have my fingers crossed that they will sell! I need to pay my visa bill, which I charged clay and glazes on!
My bg is still not behaving. It is consistently ten points to twenty points too high in the morning. I am at my wits end trying to figure out what I have changed to make it go up like that.
About meter accuracy: The fine print on the meters we use for daily testing says that they are accurate to within 10%. So if you are testing with the American standard, you might get a result of 100, and this would mean it is somewhere between 90 and 110. The A1C is much more accurate, so if your meter is close to it, that is good. I imagine the meters are more accurate than they guarantee, but they have a little legal wiggle room with the 10%.
My BGL is up this morning at 6.3 (113). The weather is shaping up for rainy and humid as well. Wonder if there's a connection? Luckily, I have no big plans for the day anyway.
Morning everyone..its still raining.. my sl was 104 this am..nothing planned for today or the weekend.. and its kinda nice for a change..im managing to stay with my ww diet and hopefully those gained back pounds will disappear..i had agood night sleep but strange dreams..with that Dick guy from Big Brother and Mathew Mconahay(sp?)..i was married to mathew and he didnt appreciate my new figure and fitting into my prom dress from when i was 16 and that Dick guy was my champion and i slapped mathew for not noticing.. go figure maybe wishful thinking lol.. and on that note have agreat day everyone(((hugs))) rosey
hi,,well I lasted at work on wed until 3.30 was in so much pain came home went in at 8.00 on thursday and they had to cut it out,,it had ,,had a root cannel on it at sometime,,was cemented in and had broken right down the middle and had infection,,i had been taking anti's for a few days anyway so they went ahead and did it,,,ohhhhhhhhh,,face is swallon and jaw hurts,,have a few pills that do help,,so I missed 2 days work am going to ty to go in today,,thats the plan anyway,,,380.00 dallars later,,,but was a wonderful dentist,,,kind and as gentle as he could be,,,bs was 69 this morning,,,gotta get going,,thanks for all the kinds words you guys are great,,,Jeanne

Just thought I'd look in before I went to bed. It has been pouring rain all afternoon and evening and I ache in a lot of places again from the dampness. Hopefully we'll get a bit of sun tomorrow, but the humidity is going to be high (so the forecast tells me). We shall see.

Tomorrow night I have to go to a party where there is going to be lots of food I know I will eat something there, it's rude not to plus I have zero willpower. I wonder, should I have my healthy dinner before I go? or just go and eat whatever is served?
We have sunshine today . . . and while that is nice to see, especially after the torrential rains yesterday . . . we also have 97% humidity to go with it and it already feels like we are living in a pressure cooker. High humidity always makes me retain water like mad so I'll be drinking lots of extra water today to try and keep the 'cankles' flushed out.
BGL was fine at 5.3 (95) this morning and the kittens seem to be behaving -- once again that might just mean I haven't 'found' the special little puddles yet.
Hi THIN . . . Guess I know where this heat and humidity came from. BTW, if it were me, I would eat before I went in the hopes that would help to keep my indulgences at the party to a minimum. If you are really hungry, not only will you eat the bad stuff anyway, but you'll probably eat a lot more of it. At least, that's what usually happens to me.
Speaking of drinking lots of water, reminded me of this little tidbit of information . . .

Hi everyone.. really quiet here.. cloudy and cold and looks like rain..the dh has gone to the cabin and daisy is recovering.. they gave me pills to relax her so shes not so zippy and she looks like shes stoned poor puppy.. stariing at me with these big liquid eyes rolling around..i have lots of projects planned but feel like having a do nothing day.. i got a new glucose meter,one of those new mini ones and its pink(my favorite color as if that has anything to do with its function) but they where on sale at the pharmacy for $10.99 a bargain i thought..hope you all are having afun weekend rosey

Today was just the strangest day here, foggy & rainy, then sunny & clear, then cloudy and drizzle, then sunshine and HOT, then solid rain, then a beautiful sunset and it got cold. I had a big salad before I went to the party. While I was there I had 1 glass of Perrier, some veggie sticks, 3 shrimp spring rolls, 2 little chicken skewers and a slice of BBQ pork. No booze, no sweets, no breads, no pastas and potato salads. I don't think I did too badly except for the deep fried spring rolls.
Another day . . . another Humidex record for Atlantic Canada. Yep, poor old Nova Scotia set another "mugginess" record yesterday and today is supposed to be even worse. Weirdest summer I can remember since I moved here, 13 years ago. Actually the whole continent has been having a pretty weird summer.
At least my BGL has been doing fairly well. Started the day with a 5.4 (97) this morning. Kittens have also been pretty good. Thought I'd escaped the dreaded 'fruit-fly infestation' this year, but had to break down and set out the vinegar jars yesterday after I had to wrestle a bunch of them for my last peach. So that also meant I had to put the rest of my fruit in the ridge, including the tomatoes which are just not as good if you keep them in the fridge.
So, don't know what the rest of you have planned today, but my plans include doing as little as possible in front of the A/C. We are supposed to be getting some severe thunderstorms later today and hopefully that will clear out a lot of the humidity.

Just waiting for kids to come over. Have to hem school uniforms this afternoon. Eating has not been great,so the scale hasn't moved. BS has been high. Its cooled off,had some bad storms go thru on Friday night. We dinn't lose power or have any damage. We have friends that are staying in a motel,no power.
Morning everyone.. a very foggy day here.. cant even see my road..my sl was 109 this am..i sure dont feel like cooking when im here by myself and i was very lazy yesterday but today im working on a xmas project.. daisy is recovering from her surg..shes on puppy "valium" and she sits and stares off into space and has the most bemused expression on her face as if to say"whoa whats up with me" she so zippy they wanted me to keep her sedated for afew days..sure is funny to watch poor thing,wonder what shes thinking..the dh called from the cabin and he is ok altho he said it was the ruffest trip he has ever had,with all the rain im sure its all mud and swamps to go thru( glad im here)later to day i plan on going to play bingo so wish me luck..meowee u always have the most interesting info.. and i was surprized at some of the "famous folks" who have what we live with everyday..ttfn and hope your weekend was fun everyone rosey

bs was 98 this morning,,am still suffering with this mouth tho,,,only worked 4 hours yesterday,,am off until wed,,,don't think she was happy but can't help it this really really,,kicked my butt,,,more so than any other tooth thing,,,don't know if it has anything to do with being diabetic or what,,maybe just age,,,ha,,thanks for all the get well you all,,,

Morning everyone.. the suns out todayhope u all had a great weekend..im surprized no one else has posted..i was a big looser at bingo last night but it was fun to get out..i have a question..how do you all feel about diet soda? do u like it ? or would you rather have the real stuff and becuz of the sugar just avoid soda all together? i used to drink lots of soda but i hate the taste of diet soda..yesterday i made a rootbeer float with diet lo fat sf ice cream and diet root beer, it just wasnt the same i guess id rather not eat the diet stuff it tasted yuk to me.. is there one diet soda that tastes like the real deal? on that note have agreat day everyone rosey
