Morning all
No basics this morning, didn't have time to check the bsl, just barely enough time to take my insulin and run for the bus. I never did answer yesterdays question..i test my sugar because i take insulin so i kinda have to.. running out without testing this morning was abit of a gamble that i don't like takeing.

Thin: you are doing so "onderfully" on your program. im so very proud of you.. keep up all the outstanding work.

This weekend will be the bacherlorette party and im going to rent a car to drive up to sacramento. its just easier for all the running around im going to be doing. TOM just arrived, which means i have NO energy at all and a worlds worth of work to do.. lol.. send all your extra energy my way ladies im gonna need it.. but good thing is when this stuff is all done and over with i can really get focused back on my plan. i haven't gone off really..but im not working out as much as i used to and not cooking the healthy meals like i should be. good thing my roomie took away the scale, i'd be freaking out right about now lol. well gonna run.. be back later

Grrr... I'm annoyed, I can't do my exercises. I didn't get a chance earlier because the washing machine repairman was here, and now my hubby came home early and I won't do it with him home.

I need my privacy to do it - does that make sense?

it makes all the sense in the world thin. i don't like to work out with my room mate in the room..i kick her out when ever im about to start... im more focused and less self conscience when im alone.. u kinda feel like your being watched when someone else is around even if they aren't paying attention to you

Thin - I am so there with you - it can be very uncomfortable. I have finally gotten to the point where I can do it with my family home - but they don't hang out in the room unless they are going to exercise with me. That's my rule - if you are in there - you are right beside me sweating right along with me.

Well - gotta run - I am at work.

Take care all!!!

Morning all
Basics First: 167 bsl this am. well i had a lil pb on bread late last nite.. so no real shocker there.. its not my fault though.. everyone was talking about it and i just happen to have an un opened jar sitting on the counter.. im just not that strong! lol..the first solid food i ate was pb.. whatcha gonna do

I took a lovely fall down some BART steps after work.. and rosetta can testify that is not a fun thing to do.. luckily, im young and in pretty decent shape (even if there is a layer a fat over that shape lol ) that i didn't get to hurt.. but i am feeling the ache this morning i tell ya.

Tomorrow is the final day of my real stress.. the bach-party.. i will be SOOOO happy to have it done with. I finished up all the party favors last nite and after work today i will drive home.. im suprised i haven't burnt out yet lol. guess there is still a bit of get up and go in this kid after all

Rosey: I actually have no plans for the 4th.. i really don't like that holiday much, so im just going to rest up before the wedding.

well gonna get back to work.. if i don't check back in.. everyone have a wonderful weekend and i will see ya'll on monday

Cool

Hi, all. Quiet around here today. Went to a luncheon yesterday with Tina Brown, the author of the Diana Chronicles. Had Creme Brulee for dessert. Many of the women at my table ignored it or just picked at it. I cleaned my plate. Yes, I'm still out of control but vow to do better next week. I just don't feel very good.
Mickey - ouch! You really must be sore. I always take the BART escalator and hate it when I have to take the muni metro stairs. I have bad knees and always hang on for dear life. Hope you recover quickly.
Rosey - What! you didn't win at Bingo!? Sounds like you're having a ball with your grandkids. Are they there for the summer?
Meowee, Monet - hope all is well.
Happy weekend!

Wow, rosettastone, what was Tina Brown like?

Meowee, hope you are okay - I miss your food report & question of the day.

My BG was a little high this morning too, probably because I couldn't exercise yesterday, I hate getting knocked off my routine.... grrrr Glad you understand why I need to be home alone to do my cardio, I just couldn't do it with hubby home

My dinner didn't go to plan either, I ended up having something other than my norm, higher in fat & salt then I wanted - but it was like I had no control. Then later I was scooping some ice cream for the kids (cookies and cream) and without even thinking I licked the spoon, I know it was only a tiny bit but it's loaded with sugar - I didn't mean to do it, it was just an unconscious thing.

Well hope everyone has a nice Friday night, I am off for 3 days now as Monday is a Holiday here (Canada Day) I am off to do my exercises now to make sure I get them done!

Hi there . . . . . . nice to know you missed me . . . aww gee . . .

We had a real dilly of a thunderstorm Thursday morning and a big bot of lightening took out the transformer for our little neighbourhood of 6 houses. Since so few of us were involved we kind of got pushed to the bottom of the list for getting fixed . . . 45 hours without power was not a fun time . . .

First off . . . my car was trapped in the garage . . . and the manual door lifter would not stay up so I had to get my friend to literally hold the door up while I got the car out. Now, although the door seems to be working fine, I've got a call in for the handyman to see if he can figure out why it wouldn''t work right in the first place.

Then . . . and the reason I had to get out of the garage . . . my car had to go for it's annual inspection. If you don't get a renewed sticker for the car, you can't drive it and mine was due for the end of June. Needed to replace my front brakes . . . so another $466 dollars gone.

Anyway . . . just wanted to let you know where I've been . . . and trust me you do not want to see my food consumption over the past two days. Basically eating garbage because I either wasn't at home or (in the case of the ice cream) didn't want to hve to throw it out anyway.

I'll be back tomorrow and hopefully back in my usual form. Later . . .

Good Morning . . .

Oh my . . . it was soooooo wonderful to be able to have coffee first thing this morning. Think I'm going to hunt around for a battery-operated coffee maker. My BGL was 7.0 (126) this morning . . . probably left over from my early afternoon spent face-down in the ice-cream carton yesterday.

Anyway, after some more coffee, guess I'll get busy trying to see what I can safely cook and what I have to throw out of the stuff from the freezer. Actually, I use the "cat-scan" method of determining if protein items are safe -- if the cats want it, it's okay -- if the cats won't touch it, it's garbage -- they are much more discerning about stuff like that than we humans are. Then, some laundry. Then, I have to figure out what is up with my answering machine since the power outage -- if I plug it in, it knocks out my telephones? Actually, I don't know if it's the power situation or the newest 'phone I bought to replace the one the kittens 'killed', since the events coincided. In other words, I hve really exciting stuff to do this weekend.

Since it is both the end of the week, the end of the month, and a long weekend (Canada Day on the 1st.) and for some a long weekend in the US, too (Fourth of July falls mid-week this year) . . . I'm going to forego the daily question. Will post something tomorrow when I start the new thread for July. Will try to sift through the stuff in my e:mail for the "tips and tidbits", too. I imagine, it will be a bit quiet around here for a few days anyway.

Okay, gang . . . hope you all have a great moving and shaking day on the go. See you later . . .

I have a 9 day vacation ahead of me. 2 weekends and the week. So I may be checking in a bit more often.....Blood sugars have been way up and way down the last couple of days... I was sure surprised when they got so low at work the other day that my lips and tongue started to feel furry and tingly. I had no choice but to treat with regular Dr. Pepper (12 oz) but 2 hrs later was still low. ate a supper of tuna and tomato on whole wheat and by bed time sugars were almost 200.... living on a small budget sucks. Why are carbs so much cheaper than the good fruits and veggies?????

Hi there everybody . . .

It's bedtime again in Atlantic Canada . . . the daylight has definitely headed off into the West to keep the rest of you entertained for a little longer . . . this was a much, much better OP day today . . . and the BGL was down to a nice 5.2 (94) before dinner.

Here's the food . . .

B: --- 2 coffee; protein pancakes with mixed berries
S: --- 2 more coffee
L: --- chicken with salsa and the big salad
S: --- jello and cool whip
D: --- salmon; broccoli and carrots
S: --- yogurt with mixed berries

W: --- 96 oz / 3000 ml

Can you tell I'm trying to eat up the big bag of frozen mixed berries that thawed out during the power outage. Also a good thing I like chicken and salmon, because I now have enough precooked to keep me going for quite sometime. Oh, BTW . . . the answering machine is definitely the culprit -- nothing to do with the new 'phone.
Have a great evening, everybody . . . hope to see you all tomorrow.
