Hey people,

Today is a crappy weigh-in day for me. I have been totally off track all week-- it started Friday, when I went ALL out for my friend's birthday. I was hungover the next day and just needed my greasy carby hangover food, so I allowed myself that, but the problem is that just when I was getting ready to get back on the wagon, I came down with the ickiest worst chest cold ever, so I decided to let myself take a break from low-carb, since I felt like top priority should be giving my body energy foods/nutrients so it could heal ASAP. My weight has predictably been up all week as a result, and today I am 4 pounds heavier than I was last Thursday. I'm pissed because I feel like calorie wise I haven't been that bad, I've just been eating more carbs, and it feels like maybe all that "weight" i lost while being so diligent about low-carb was actually just freaking water and no fat.

NOT COOL.

Still 159-160. Family reunion last weekend didn't help with all the food and drinks, lol. I bought a halloween costume yesterday for 50% off, making it $25 plus tax! Wow, Kymish- approx. 2 weeks left?! How exciting, scary, awesome all at the same time!! Here's the costume below (not me, lol!)- it didn't come with gloves. Also the ears I have certainly are not that long, more shorter and a bit more round. I have red polka dot wedges and a red belt to go with the above. Still trying to decide if I should get tights, if so- what color? I still got some time to decide.

Vdh- sorry to hear you're stricken with a chest cold- ughhh!!! Focus on getting better. No way you've gained 4lbs! Hang in there, dearie.

Congrats on making goal, Suzukigirl!!!

Zoesmom- I wouldn't consider that cheating at all. I did say you could use any weight from this week. Sometimes I do if I happen to be weighing daily that week, sometimes I don't.

Good job, Tori! You're gonna be in the 210s before you know it!

Ooh, I like the costume!!!

Re me obsessing over my weight gain during this cold-- do u guys think it's possible that my body is retaining extra water while sick? Obviously I'm trying to think of all possibilities.... haha

Way to go for everyone who had a great weigh-in this week! We're getting close to the finish line here!!

Thanks, Vdh! Have you been eating/drinking soups and/or broths? The sodium in them are wayyy crazy and would definitely make you retain water. If not, then it could be just your body's way of making sure you don't get dehydrated? IDK, bodies are weird!! Sending you healing vibes!

Cheerilos, I'm wondering the same thing-- it is so dead around here! I'm here though!!

I'm getting back OP today. I have been SO out of control for the past week with being sick and then having friends in town, drinking, eating pizza and mac n cheese, etc..... I was up scary high this morning. But my first plan of action is to go right back on low carb today and drink a ton of water so at least tomorrow or the day after I'll have gotten rid of the water weight and will be able to tell what I actually gained (terrified). This is depressing, but I'm trying not to get too derailed by it.

I do hope that everyone had a great weigh in last week and had an awesome weekend, wherever you all are!

Wow, I've been gone for a week and thought the thread would be hopping, but I guess I haven't missed much!

cheeriloos -- way to kick *** -- you are doing awesome!

vdh2102 -- pretty much in the same boat as you. Here's to getting back on track and seeing that scale go down!!!!

I have been off the past week. Eating crappy food and not really exercising. Today was the first time I ran in a week. Went to a funeral, found out my parents are divorcing and then got sick. So I just got unmotivated and decided to take a break. I didn't gain, but I didn't lose and I am okay with that. Well, I did gain for a bit, but the scale was back to my starting point today, so I guess it was sodium or something. Really bummed about my parents, so hoping I can stay positive and not turn to food. Figured I needed to stop in here and stay on track...I know when I haven't posted on here for awhile I am falling off the wagon, lol.

jessicadoI'm sorry to hear all the bad news going on this week, just be strong. Keeping focused on your weightloss is important so that you won't. Use food as comfort. Big coming your way and don't worry taking care of you is not selfish, it's necessary.
