I have been doing pretty good this week. I know the scale seems to be stuck. I'm not giving up though. I did reset my goal on one challenge today where I can reach it if I try. I have had lots of exercise this week, and have been controlling my eating too.

Good evening ladies :)
Today I mark the third straight day I'm doing Walk Away The Pounds and I absolutely love it. Only downside is that I don't know how many calories I'm burning (I intend to get a HRM). This week I'm doing only WATP and I intend to do a minimum of 5 miles a day so that's more than 1 hour of exercise everyday. I also go for a walk outside for at least 30 minutes. Not running yet, I'll get there eventually. I'm keeping up with my 1 gallon of water a day :D I also bumped up my calories to 1,400 (plateau at 1,200) and I've been eating just that for three straight days now (I used to under-eat). Oh and I lost 1 inch off my waist. So even if the scale's not moving much, at least I got a nice payoff for not giving up! |
Here I am. Sorry I can't address everyone today, but my week is crazy busy, but I'm still eating right and exercising.
Nashal, since I haven't been feeling 100%, I'm also doing WATP, but only a mile for now. I don't want to overdo it, because that's when I really get sick. Congrats to you for walking 5 miles! Steph, congrats on your bathroom! Bye for now. |
I tried to do a DVD, but wasn't happy with the one I picked out. Michelle D's Cardio Interval Burn so I only did about 10 min. I don't think I made it out of the warmup. I like the setup of the workout but its fast paced, a little dancy, and with quick changes just leave me confused and behind. I've done it before and liked it, so its kind of hit-and-miss with me.
Hubby stayed home from work today because he caught a GI virus, so I'm waiting to see if I got it too. Yip-ee! I cancelled Knit Night because if I did have it I didn't want to spread it around. I've been watching the CrossFit games which I didn't know exsisted until I saw them mentioned at Cathe Nation. Watching the games and learning more about they way the train has made me think that maybe I should try more things unrelated to DVDs. Like Hubby and I throwing a ball around in the backyard or taking the dog for more walks. We are generally more active outside in the winter than the hot and humid summer anyway. |
Still here, still OP :)
Just can't seem to post regularly... *sigh* |
Good morning ladies,
JazzyPeggy - Hang in there and keep on doing what you're doing and the scale will eventually go down. I have been OP for 2 weeks with no change and then all of a sudden I go down 2 or 3 pounds. Your woosh is coming. Nayshal - Congrats on losing 1 inch off your waist. I like WATPs too but haven't done them in a long time. Keep up the great work. I'm planning on an OP day and am planning to get in a walk this evening after work. I hope you all have a great Friday. |
i am so frustrated over here. I started the month off at 152.4, went down to 149, and today I am still stuck at 152.4! what is the deal! I have stuck to my calorie goal every day plus I have worked out 6x a week for a month! nothing! not a stinkin oz. I guess all I can do is keep going right...it's not like I'm going to give up or anything. I just don't get how it is scientifically possible that I work out so much eat so good and weigh the same. hmpf.
|
sorry. rant over. just so frustrating when you work so hard and it seems like it didnt do anything!

AilsaPearl, I think we all feel your pain. I've gone stretches of being on plan and losing nothing, and then eating what I think is too much but losing - it makes no sense! That's why I try to take a longer view - am I down from a month ago? I weigh every day because that actually helps me put less emphasis on the number, if that makes sense. Anyway, your results should come. It's much harder when you're so close.
I've had a great day - did some shopping with a friend, got a lot of good exercise. I was very excited to fit into a size 8 skirt at the Ann Taylor outlet! (I was also very excited that they were having a sale and I could afford the skirt. :)) I hope everyone has something fun planned for the weekend. I'll be painting trim in my bathroom. Not exactly fun, but it will mean the project is done! |
We all jumped earlier when a huge kaboom of thunder rang out, shook the house and knocked something over in the attic, which is Hubby’s problem now.
Today is my odd-jobs day. odd job 1) kill strange bug in bathroom * check* Ewww! I also did 2 loads of laundry, 50min of weights, gave April her Spa Day, dusted and ‘curated’ the LR shelves, because I was sick of looking at the same stuff, had leftovers for dinner, then Hubby and I went for a mile walk. We are currently waiting for the new season of Haven to begin on SyFy. Hubby made us peach shakes all by himself, lol, I haven't seen the kitchen yet, but I'm sure its a mess. |
What a day. We were at the hospital from 9-6 today.
We found out at our dr appt yesterday that my 4 yo daughter had something stuck in her ear. So she went in for day surgery today. They were running 4 hours behind. Poor baby had to fast since last night, and was asking for food. She was really really good though. My hubby and I were there with her, along with our 3 month old. Had to go home at 2:30 to get my 2 year old, since my sister had to go to work and couldn't babysit any longer. My daughter had a hard time coming off the anesthetic, poor girl. :( After it was metabolized and she was better, she was back to her bouncy happy little girl self. She had a large sequin type item in her ear- the same size as her ear drum, and right up beside it. Her eardrum had no damage though, praise God! Hopefully she won't be doing that again. I had a physiotherapy appointment this morning before all that, and was told to only do low-impact sports for now, like biking and swimming. Problem, I can't do the things I enjoy, like running (ok ok, jogging) or aerobics. So I'm sad about that. It's not forever though, we'll re-assess in the next month. I'm so thankful that I'm Canadian- none of this cost us a single penny. So today was an OP day, of sorts- I didn't have the time or ability to eat much, lol! Hoping tomorrow is a little more low-key! |
We had a slight hope that Hubby would have a job past Dec, but we got the news yesterday that it won't happen. The company has just decided to shut down here in Memphis; there's no talk of asking people to transfer, thanks for your 20 years of service. Just Goodbye. Which is why its so weird to send Hubby for training. Now?
Today is cardio day and I get to clean house. My shoulders and triceps are sore from yesterdays workout, too. Funny story. April is not allowed on the furniture, but we know she sneaks up on the love seat while we are gone. So when my parents came to pick me up for Bible study on Thurs, Hubby was curled up on the couch when we left. As I was locking the door I hear Hubby yell "NO! Bad dog!". April had forgotten that Hubby was home and tried to climb up on the love seat as I was leaving. LOL. We decided we need to try that again sometime. Silly Dog! Clever, I'm glad your DD came through her surgery so well and there was no permanent damage. |

Today is going well so far. I am back at that 'magic' number I was at a few weeks ago that I wasn't able to get below- 163.0 This time though, it feels good to see that 163.0 for the past few days on the scale- I'm back to where I was a few weeks ago, and now I'm just working on pushing past that and continuing with my weight loss. We have a party to go to tonight- I can't drink much, only 1/2 glass of wine, depending on when baby needs to eat- since I'm nursing. So I don't need to worry about extra calories from alcohol. I'm not a big drinker anyhow. I just need to stay away from those darn appy trays! I'll check in tomorrow with my glowing report of how well I ate at the party. ;) Hope everyone has a OP weekend! :) |
I've been a bad girl. :( I've been doing great, but I haven't been able to check in here much.
I'm still going steady. My eating has been good (aside of a really good seafood panzerotti last night - mmmm). I'm working out everyday (I have logged in 35 miles of walking this week - so crazy) and my 2 day per week strength training class is going great. Nayshal - Hi again! (I saw you in the Walk Away The Pounds Thread). If you google the name of the video you are using along with calories burned, it should give you an idea of what you burned off. I believe many is based on someone that is 150 lbs. Steph7409 - How is the jogging going? GettinFit - Good job with the walk the other day! AilsaPearl - Are you sure it isn't water weight? Or maybe you are losing fat and gaining muscle at the same time? Hang in there! |
Just posting one more update. So I was doing some Saturday afternoon cleaning, and I organized some of my bigger clothes (threw some away/donating other items). I came across the "I had enough" pair of shorts that I bought in the spring (see my avatar).
That pair of shorts is a size 22. I couldn't believe I had to buy it, but I couldn't really fit into my old pairs from last summer. I can almost completely get into one leg. It stops at my hips and it looks like a super tight mini-skirt. lol The Holidays are right around the corner and I'm thinking of buying a frame and framing the shorts to remind myself to watch my eating everytime I see it. |
