Patchworkpenguin I don't knit, I crochet. I actually just started a small side business making things for people. All of the profit from my crocheting is going to my wedding fun. Not sure on the date yet, but the earliest will be Jan 2014. So if my calculations are anywhere near correct, I need to make about 250 personalized baby blankets to afford my dream wedding.
littlebumblebee I will make it. TOM usually doesn't do a lot of dammage other than water weight. This week was just reverting back to old habits when sadness hit.
I am happy to say that even though it was a rough week, I learned a lot, and I still am down #.5
I wasn't here for a couple of days. I had to babysit my two year old grandbaby. She is into everything and has her own mind. Very smart, but very active. So I don't get much computer time when she's here. But I love her so much.
I did lose 1.4 pounds this week. I was so happy. I'm not doing the best on my eating, but I'm doing a whole lot better than I was.
And I'm trying to get back into things I used to do to enrich my life more. I'm reading again, at night before I go to sleep and some in the daytime. Had to cut the Golden Girls off . lol.
I also started crocheting again last night. I am making a doily out of crochet thread which is a challenge for me, since I usually use yarn. I decided a couple of days ago that some of these things I want to do, I am a smart girl, and I can do them.
Another thing I'm going to do is learn to like using my laptop. Right now I hardly ever use it. I decided it was time to quit letting things conquer me but to be the conqueror. (Hmmm, that means in weight loss, too. I knew that, I think that is why I am working on these things.)
I hope everyone is having a great start to the week.
Penguin - I know you are going to get back in your exercise groove soon. Hang in there.
Enygirl - Congrats on your loss this week! I hope this is a great week for you. Stay strong!!!
JazzyPeggy - Congratulations on your 1.4 loss this week Heres to you conquering the laptop and the weight You can do it!!! You ladies have me wanting to dig out some of my yarn and start crocheting. I do need to make a baby blanket for a friend who is having a baby boy in September.
So far today and been good for me. I've eaten as planned and I have dinner planned out. If I eat as planned for the rest of the day, I'll have 139 calories left plus what I earn from exercising today. My plan is to NOT eat any peanuts today and I know that's going to be hard. I think these may be slowing my weight loss. I bought some 100 calorie pack of almonds and will limit myself to those a few times this week.
It is day 20 of being sugar free and junk food free!
I have impressed myself. It is so much nicer to look at the calender and see that for 20 consecutive days, I have stayed OP. Hooray!

My goodness, I must agree, the time is flying by. But this month, we can all look and be happy, for all of those days that we stayed OP!
You are doing absolutely great staying OP, congratulations!
That is exciting that you have cruises planned for the Fall.
Penguin
I have seen the kettlebells and someday I would like to try them.
Enygirl
You are doing great, and you have accomplished a lot, stay focus and keep moving forward. And send those sad feelings packing. Do you feel better after you exercise? Usually during my TOM after I exercise, I feel a lot better.
JazzyPeggy
Congratulations on the 1.4 lbs that you loss!
I feel very domestic this morning. I've started my bread dough and set up a pot roast and veggies in the crockpot for dinner tonight. Never take a hungry man to a butcher shop we stopped in for chicken legs and bacon and left with a roast also.
Today is day 21 of being sugar free and staying OP.
These last few days of August and I want to decrease my calories and see a weight loss.

Thank you for writing about the nuts. I have been eating a lot of nuts, for protein, but even too much of a good thing, can slow down weight loss.
After reading your post I re-evaluated my nuts consumption and decided I need to give up the nuts for a few weeks and when I start eating nuts again, I need to switch to raw nuts instead of salty nuts. You inspire me to do better and to stay OP, so Thank you very much. You rock!

I have tried to make homemade bread, and the dough never raise.
I'm back from vacation with good news!! I stepped on the scale this morning and i'm 6.5 pounds down from before I left. I accomplished my mini-goal of actually losing weight while on vacation. It was tough to resist all the food (my boyfriend's family is italian...so the get togethers had more food than I could even try) and the desserts. And even though I slipped up a couple times, I kept at it and I lost weight! I had been stuck around the 237-238 area for months...and now...just 1 more pound and I will be in the 220s!! And 4 more pounds and I will be 30 lbs lighter than my heaviest!! And I couldn't have done it without the encouragement in this thread...so thank you guys!!
@bumblebee - Congrats! Almost a month with no sugar! Amazing!
@penguin - Homemade bread! How yummy. I have always wanted to try. Can I come over for dinner? Sounds delicious
@Gettinfit - Congrats on resisting peanuts! And you are such a great cheerleader!
@Peggy - Congrats on your weightloss! And starting to read again. While on vacation I actually finished The first hunger games book. It was so nice to sit down and get lost in a book again. Hopefully I can keep it up now that i'm home, but I tend to let myself get lost in HGTV and computer games. lol
Also...is there talk of knitting and crocheting? I dabble in both now and then. I have a hooded scarf with pockets on my needles right now that I can hopefully get done before it gets cold...but luckily, since it's Texas, I have plenty of time before that happens.
I hope everyone had a great weekend and a good start to the week.
I haven't been checking in because I haven't been on plan much at all lately. I've been maintaining my weight, so I haven't been overeating, but I haven't been eating well. I've been exercising daily, though, and feel pretty good. But I'd really like to get back to losing, even if slowly.
I'm glad everyone has been doing so well!
Oh, and I too am a bit of a crafter. I just finished making a little beaded tapestry that I'm quite happy with.

Reason: hit "post" too soon!
Steph, checkin even if you aren't on plan. Sometimes it helps to motivate yourself back, and we know you are still around.
Rachel and Bee, I make the bread from a starter I keep in the fridge, yeast and I don't seem to get along well, but the starter makes it easier. Putting the dough in the oven with the light on helps it rise, or if your oven doesn't have a light start it for a few minutes to warm it up, then turn it off and put the covered dough inside. Keeping it on the counter just doesn't work in my house especially in winter. Before I was given the starter I would make quick bread occasionally which doesn't use yeast.
