Eating much better today, at home with the kids. Both of them are snotty/coughing too, going to see pediatrician this afternoon. |
I posted early this morning but it seems to have disapeared. Anyhoo, I did my monday morning weigh in and was down 2 pounds. that brings my up to 30 pounds lost in 10 weeks. Now to just make it through the holidays. everyone keep up the great work.

tyla Oh my gosh I would be ecstatic if I lost 1/2 lb. Seriously. I don't think I've lost in a month. I've been doing well but not perfect. And I think at some point you really do have to eat "perfectly" in order to lose, unfortunately.
The weather is not too bad where I live- it's actually cool in the evenings now which makes me so happy! The day is warm and sunny- maybe in the 80s. Sorry, you asked a while back about what yoga is like here and I forgot to answer. In a nutshell it's very different from in the US. It focuses mostly on meditation, breathing (pranayamas) and very light stretching. The whole concept of power yoga, flow, etc are very Western. I go to a private teacher who is Indian but who used to live in the US and understands when I say I want to be tired at the end of the workout :) miatutu oh my gosh, your loss is incredible! Congratulations! NoMore WTG on the good eating. Hope the kids feel better! Day 51 Exercise: Went on 3 short casual walks- total of 45-60 minutes. IF: Started eating at 12:30 PM Food: HUGE salad: 150 g broccoli, 150 g bok choy, 1 carrot steamed with balsamic vinegar and herbs. 50 g dried figs 1 cup tea with milk and sugar bites of my fiance's cinnamon bun + a few bites of nachos + a few bites of ice cream (all OFF PLAN :() 1 apple 1/4 c chickpeas 5 dates Well... I was definitely not on plan yesterday. I didn't get enough protein and I ate about 300 calories worth of crap when we went out with some friends in the afternoon. Good news is my calories overall were well under the daily goal. Not weighing myself for a while, I want to get back on track for a bit. |
Thanks everyone, I'm sure things will get better as they go.
Ate better this week but I haven't weighed myself, I'm a bit afraid too. I'm really gonna try and not gain much during this pregnacy. I've been able to work in some vegitables back in my diet as long as they are cooked. I still can't look at raw veggies. On the dpown side.....someone charged $471 on my credit card for make-up... :censored: I'm more upset over the fact that tomorrow I have to call my credit card company and deal with it. I have issues with talking to people over the phone- as in i suddenly can not understand a word people say over the phone. :?: and it's worse with these customer servce people who cram all their information into a single breath and I have to make them repeat themselves 3 or 4 times before I finally get what they are trying to tell me and I feel like an idiot. :( But I'm just stressed out right now. DF is gonna do most of the talking when possible. |
Oh No, I hope you get the charges removed quickly Sakai!
30lbs in 10 weeks is great Miatu!! I have gained and lost the same three pounds since Oct 18th, every weekend puts me back up :( Got to do better! |
Indi, thank you so much for the info. I'm truly am interested in other cultures. I love learning about them. I'm so glad the weather is cooler at nights for you. If it's in the 80's now, what must the summer be like?
Miatutu, congrats on your awesome weight loss! :congrat: :bravo: Nomore, the fact that you are consistently here is fantastic! The weight will eventually come off. Sorry your kids are feeling well. You take care, too! Sakai, I wish you the very best! I sure hope you credit card is taken care of quickly. As for speaking on the phone, it doesn't matter that you ask them to repeat things. They are supposed to explain things correctly. I make them repeat things, too, just because a lot of them aren't very nice. Sometimes when I get an idiot on the phone, I just call back until I get a friendly person. They're lucky they have a job! This is day 52! :) |
Still here!! I have 45 days left!! Still on plan, and I've added a workout dvd to every day! :D I've lost 6lbs since I started, and that is A LOT for me in 55 days, lol... I'm a r e a l l y slow loser!!
Keep going everyone!! |
Indiblue, nomoreknit and tyla, thank you. It has been a had long journey, and it isn't even halfway over yet. It is you gals and this forum that keep me going eveyday:)
Well, I downloaded the C25K podcasts and am planning on starting the program today. We will see if I can make it through the first day of running. My knee has been bothering me and I may have to ge a brace for it to wear when running. I should have sarted it a month ago, but better late than never right? |
I've been thinking about doing the C25K too Miatu! I'm scared!! I jog on the treadmill for about 45 seconds before I have to quit. I just figure i'll keep going a few seconds longer until it turns into minutes :)
Hi Kate! Glad you are still checking in on us! |
NoMoreKnit, I did my first day of C25K this afternoon. I wasn't bad. A couple of the running parts I was pushing too hard so I would back it off a bit, but all in all, i wasn't as bad as I expected. If you are already running 45 seconds, I would try the program. I just downloaded the podcast and it told me when to switch from running to walking. Its nice to have a program to follow. Either way, good luck with the running, no matter which way you decide to go.

That's always nice to hear Miatu "Wasn't as hard as I expected" WTG!
Can you believe I don't even own a MP3 player? Maybe santa will put one in my stocking this year. I really want to burn more calories running! :carrot: Day 53 Chicks!!! :carrot: |
Wow, it's day 53! I'm so happy we're doing this challenge! :D
Good to see you again, Kate! I'm going to have to look into C25K. I don't have an MP3 player, either. Can you get the info and do it from the internet? Good luck, everyone! Let's keep this challenge going. :goodluck: |
Tyla, if you have a stopwatch or a clock/watch depending on if your running inside on a treadmill or outside you can do it. It has the info on coolrunning.com I think is the website. The first week is a 5 minute warm up walk at a brisk pace. Then 60 seconds running followed by 1 1/2 minutes brisk walking. Repeat 7 more times for a total of 8 times then a 5 minute cool down. It just increases the times a bit each week. Just google C25K and the info will come up. It is a 3 day a week workout, and others recomend that you keep to just 3 days and do cardio/strength training on the off days. I am so out of shape, so if I can do it, anyone can. Give it a try.
