Desigirl and Fat_Chick_B_Gone (Great name, btw):

I have the same problem when I go to my mother's house. I think it's a feeling like 'phew, I'm home, I don't have to be so responsible/grown up for a change', which unfortunately can translate to eating rubbish...also my friends in my hometown (my nearest, dearest, beloved friends) aren't so much in to healthy eating. I mean if I cook healthy for them they eat and enjoy but they're the type to buy full-fat products by default, bring sweet/chocs to a film, etc...and I don't want to seem like a wet blanket, if you know what I mean...

Good for not binging, Heather!
I know what you mean - I also have this problem only with people very close to me.
I don't know about you, but I've been thinking about the reason for this for a while now, and I believe the bottom line is - that I'm worried that if I say something or express my feelings to this person - the way I REALLY fell - that they won't love me anymore. So to avoid that - I punish myself.
Something like that anyway!!!

YAY Heather! You used such a great method for avoiding the binge... you came here and wrote out what was causing the trigger and analyzed it and didn't mindlessly eat instead! That's just SO awesome!

Day 5!

Heather- hmmm - maybe keeping a vent journal would help you get out some of your feelings and help with turning to food?

Miriam- I like your procedure- I actually find that helpful because I so need to be more assertive!

Jude- I can sort of relate to what you are saying. Every year, we have a reunion in Wisconsin on 4th of July and the food there is sooooooooooo fattening - so I am already trying to figure out a way to be very mindful without others noticing or thinking that I am judging the food.

Josephine - is this day 92 for you??? Amazing

The heat wave finally went away and our regular upper 80s seems very cool! I did a 40 minute walk (though was feeling a bit sluggish darn PMS ). This afternoon DS and I are meeting SIL and my niece at the pool

WardHog- Good for you!!!!!!! Do something special to celebrate

Boy am I wiped out! DS and I spent more than an hour playing in the pool in the sun with SIL and my niece. SIL and I were definitely far more worn out than DS or my niece LOL - we were feeling soooooooo old.

I am really hoping I make it to day 10 binge free because if I do, I am going to purchase a scrapbook supply I have been wanting as a reward.

Hello! My name is Monica and I am hoping that I can join this board for some help. I have struggled with my weight my whole life and I had a little girl 13months ago and I have been "dieting" since she was 3 mths old and needless to say, I have gained more then I lost and it's because I just cannot stop eating and I don't know where to start!

I have tried WW, I joined LA (I stopped going) and I have tried sparkpeople! I don't know what else to do, I cannot not stop eating, I start out so well and by the end of the night...sigh.

I hope I have a found a place that might help gain some control...

Monica

Default Buggar The Binges..

Hello All..

I found this site when I was researching the side effects of bitter orange.. don't think I will order that stuff afterall, as I don't want to raise my blood pressure and stress my heart.

I go to WW but have a naughty little party trick happening.. get weighed in on Saturday morning - then nosh my way through the weekends. This means a hard week until next weigh-in 'cause I have to lose the weekend noshing weight, and a bit more besides..

The binge free challenge is a good place for me.. I would like to join you good people.

Jess: way to go with one day success.. keep it going.

Monica: the binge free challenge might be the best place for you.

Best to all, Jenny

Today is day 2 for me. I had a dinner to go to yesterday and didn't go overboard;it helped that the food wasn't so good anway

Fat-Chick_Be_gone and Me23-- I can completely relate. I think for me as well, I feel like a sense of relief and lack of responsbility when I go home and so I let myself go. I even watch over my DD less bc my parents are there It's like the days pass in a pleasant eating blur.

Leigh-- congrats onday 5! You will definitely make it to day 10

Welcome Matt,Mama2jmb, and jessica!

Congrarts WardHog!

Jenny-- welcome. I am on WW as well although stopped going to tbe meetings bc I am a bit cash poor these days But when I went, I would go to the SUnday afternoon meeting bc then I had to be good all weekend. I noticed that when I went to the sat meeting, I would eat way too much all weekend.
