Hi Lori, Thanks for starting this Challenge.

SW: 221.8
CW: 222.4
GW: 210

I had wanted to reach Onderland but not going to reach it.

P H A T 03-18-2011 02:51 PM

Yay !! I definitely want to participate; I just have to sit & think about the goals I want to reach & where I want to be at by Easter.. The goals I have previously set for myself were waaaay harder to reach than I thought & It was discouraging me. Then I set up goals that were so easy that I slacked off, lol.. So this time I'm gonna give it some thought.. I'll be back to list my goals ...

KimZ 03-18-2011 02:54 PM

Count me in.........

I am a newbie and just staring out so my goal is 5 lbs.... which will bring me below my current 1st goal of a new do :-)

I like your rewards in your signature. I thought about doing that too. It's just with me, when I want something, I get it RIGHT AWAY. LOL. Last week, my mother & I treated ourselves to a movie for reaching our goals. We went to See Red Riding Hood. :)

ElizabethG 03-18-2011 03:14 PM

My goal is going to be in 180s consistently. Not sure of start weight yet, I avoided the scale again this morning. Right now I'm consistently between 191 and 194. Its up and down and all around. Not sure if its me or the scale. My reward for hitting 180s is a hair cut that I desperately need. :)

NorthernExposure 03-18-2011 03:44 PM

Of course I'm in again!!

SW: 186.1
GW: 179.9

I want OUT of the 180's! This goal is a bit ambitious given the rate I'm losing at lately, but I'm going to give it my best shot! Hopefully my other goals will help me get there:

-continue exercising at least 5 days a week
-continue staying in my 1400-1600 calorie range at least 5 days a week
-on "cheat" days, try to stay around 1800, do not go over 2000

Long term thoughts: My next "big" goal is to get to 174, which is 100 lbs lost! I'd like to get there by the beginning of summer (might be a good Memorial Day goal??)

Short term thoughts: I have two challenging weekends ahead...tomorrow night is our (belated, I know) St. Patrick's Day party. Next weekend is another social gathering Saturday night, and our anniversary on Sunday. I will be putting my new plan to the test for sure!

Good luck, ladies!!

I figure if I keep seeing it..... I can get there right and not to buy it before I get there =)

fruitlady 03-18-2011 04:50 PM

Lori- Thanks for the new challenge!

My goals
exercise everyday
continue to maintain
eat clean
continue to count calories
Stay in my calorie range, depends on how much I weigh at the time, if I am weighing more it's 1200-1300. If I am weighing below 110lbs. it's a little more.

manders01 03-18-2011 05:08 PM

I'm in! My goals:
  • Be at 160 or below by end of challenge
  • Remain under daily calorie allotment / no binging (except April 1st, Rockies Opening Day - that's a free pass day for me :D)

Good luck everyone!!!

My goals for this challenge:
-Stay under 1,300 in calories daily
-Exercise at least 5 days a week
-Lose 8 lbs

The 8 lbs is a pretty daring goal considering I only got 3 out of 4 lbs for the last challenge, but this time around I've got the drive to be on plan 100% of the time and have 9 weeks to work with. I think, and hope, that I can do it! :bunny2:

Off to update my signature and then get in today's exercise...

Based on Lori's first post, Easter is on April 24th (I admittedly had no idea what day it was) so we only have just over 5 weeks. Despite the shorter time frame, I think 8 pounds is totally doable (I'm going for 7-1/2 myself).

osu2k1 03-19-2011 01:18 AM

I am new to the CC borad (currently working with Weight Watchers, but CC at the same time), but would love to join in!!!

I have a goal to be down 20 lb total by Easter (also my 33rd b-day, oy).

Whoops  I think I figured the weeks from February 18 as the start date instead of March! Thank you for pointing that out to me, I'm going to adjust my goal with that in mind. :dizzy:

P H A T 03-19-2011 07:33 AM

Okay I've decided to set a small goal for myself;

-8 lbs by April 24th
-Exercise 4 days a week; [this has been a challenge because of all the overtime I've been working. When I get home from work, I am pooped & I don't feel like doing anything!
-I also want to be able to improve on my sleeping habits because right now, I'll get maybe 4 hours of sleep at night. I have no energy & I'm hungrier on these days. I need to start sleeping at least 6-8 hours a night in order to function properly.

emileigh 03-19-2011 08:39 AM

It has been a while since I have participated in one of the challenges, but this time I am in. My goal is 4 lbs. by Easter.

Lori, back when I was here before you were just reaching 100 lbs which was awesome, now you are even more awesome. Congratulations!

NorthernExposure 03-19-2011 09:20 AM

k15: thanks! And look at you...almost in onederland!!

So I finally had my "whoosh" today!! Down 2.4 lbs. Got to change my avatar to 90 lbs lost. I really hope this loss "sticks" for my regular Friday WI next week (my WI days are a little "off" this week), but I am very happy today!

Just wanted to say hi to everyone. Great to see some new faces in these challenges! And of course I couldn't do this without all of you loyal CC challenge "regulars":)

Have a great weekend, everyone!!

Bulletproof Heart 03-19-2011 11:00 AM

k15g15 03-19-2011 12:10 PM

Thanks Northern!
Glad to see so many new members to the challenge. You can do it!

I jumped on the scale today and lost a pound and a half. 200.2 is what the scale read...I ran to the restroom and reweighed two times to try to get 199.9 but that did not work!:)Just a little nutty weight loss moment! But I am hoping next week will bring me to onederland!

Good luck everyone and have a super weekend!

manders01 03-19-2011 12:43 PM

Alrighty, day one (day two?) and it looks to be a good one. Beautiful day in Denver so after my workout (that I really am about to go get ready for :D), I'm going to head over to the park for a walk.

Have 1499 calories logged for today but am planning on going over the a bookstore later and getting a coffee so I can add about 100 calories to that. Still under my allotment though.

Great Saturday everyone!

fruitlady 03-19-2011 05:57 PM

Northern- Wow you are almost at 100lbs. lost! That's awesome!

My weight is up 2 lbs. because I ate way too much yesterday(4300 cal.) I was craving peanut butter & ice cream, stupid me bought it at the market yesterday. Time to take action, had 1300 calories today, so much better! Took a walk for 41min. this morning & I've been very active for the past 2 days cause the weather is better outside. Hopefully this weight will come off soon. I am not hungry at all today, I think it's my body telling me I've had enough food to last me 3 days! lol

jigglefree 03-20-2011 09:06 AM

Had a good day yesterday. I walked three miles on the treadmill and then went on Saturady errands...ended up walking around themalll for about three hours. I ate pretty healthy yesterday as not to foil my workout. Am I tired today...YEP. I have my starting measurements and I'm ready.

I'm going to be on my kettle bells today and I will eat between 1200-1300 calories. No snack food in the house and I will not be allowing any in so that I don't get off task. I really want this week to go well. So I'm leaving NO ROOM FOR FAILURE!!

TiredOfGettingBigger 03-20-2011 09:28 AM

So its just getting harder. The last two days I feel like all people are talking about is food. My Fiance works midnights and this morning woke me up and said lets have some grilled hamburgers.... Its hard to eat to live when everyone else around you is living to eat.

KimZ 03-20-2011 09:40 AM

Happy Sunday all .... I'm off to an Ecofest this morning... bad place with the food but at least healthy food... I need some will power to stay on track because I am already only 3 lbs away from my Easter Goal =) I think my goal will change so... my new Easter Goal will be 8 lbs total!

Yeah - have a SPECTACULAR Sunday everyone!

This is just my two cents but when I started this journey, I didn't want to change what was on my menu. I still don't. Why should you sacrifice and not have something you want? I have yet to run across something I couldn't make low-cal and enjoy. So...if you don't already have the meat, buy extra lean. If you do, make your patty a little smaller or bulk it up with some mashed beans (could use pinto and add some cumin to the mix for a taste on the side of Mexican or kidney and add some chili powder for a chili burger). Grilling is going to cause fat to drip off so that will help with calories and fat as well. Skip the cheese or use 2% milk cheese. Have the burger on a low-cal bun / bread or wrap in lettuce leaves. Add veggies as normal. Use ketchup and mayo sparingly. I say enjoy your cookout! :)

manders01 03-20-2011 12:07 PM

Cut my walk in half yesterday even though it was a beautiful day here. I was going to go hang out in a bookstore for a while yesterday afternoon but while I was walking, decided it'd be more fun to hang out on a patio with a cold one and people watch. And I decided to go downtown which meant walking. So I purposely cut my walk back. Not because I couldn't have done both but I so wanted to go home and get ready to go out. :D

Don't have errands to run today and I plan on sitting on my rump for three hours watching White Sox baseball! :cb: So going to try to stay on the light side of my calorie allotment today (1426). I'll take a walk before or after the game to get some exercise in though.

Side note...Started the day with part of my breakfast being a donut. YS Carob donut. YUM!!! I've tried two low-cal donuts thus far (I've had some scary bad cravings for donuts in the past few weeks so I decided to give in to my temptations...sort of :D). This donut was much better than the other one I had. Texture was spot on, taste was delish! I will definitely be ordering more of those.

P H A T 03-20-2011 12:13 PM

Hey everyone! Happy Sunday & the beginning of a new week!

jigglefree - I can only hope that I can get to your level of discipline & dedication. My house is full of snack food, LOL .... I need to control myself .. it can be ridiculous at times lol. I just feel like I need something sweet, so I got some 100 calorie frozen Minute Maid, & 50 calorie Popsicles. I know they're greatest but.... One step at a time is the only way this "lifestyle change" is gonna work for me :p

TiredOfGettingBigger - I feel your pain  .. maybe you can mix up some ground turkey & have your own grilled turkey burgers.. they're good! My fiancee grills turkey burgers at least twice a week on the George Foreman grill, I'm sure if you threw a turkey burger on an actual grill, I would probably come out even better. Then throw some fresh veggies on the grill, like a corn on the cobb, or some peppers.. Oh man.. that sounds so good right now! lol

I'm gonna start of this week on a positive note. I had somewhat of a plateau for the past week & a half because of my period, & it really demotivated me since I get way hungrier for sweets the week before my period. Then the week OF, my cramps hurt so bad, I can barely walk. I only worked out 2 days last week because of my freaking uterus & my ankle hurting as well. PLUS add 6 days of mandatory overtime at work & well .. I just wasn't a happy camper! LOL. But this week will be different. I've set my goals for the week & I have every intention of meeting those goals. I want to give my metabolism a boost!

LOL I prefer turkey burgers to hamburgers and didn't even think of that one! However, between your post and my post, I'm thinking there are some sort of burgers and grilled veggies in my near future. :D

Walked 36min. then walked to the St Patty's Day parade. At least I did enough walking, calories are 1343. My weight is up again from the day I pigged out, but it should be going down soon.

NorthernExposure 03-20-2011 06:16 PM

Hey guys...

Well I think I did OK this weekend in spite of our party last night. Friday was a non-exercise day (I allow no more than two a week now), but my calories were good (actually a little low, 1381.)

Saturday was my second no-exercise day and a high calorie day. I had about 700 calories during the day before the party. I had my planned beers and some "party" food last night (crock pot meatballs, cheese & crackers, that kind of thing), but I only had one very reasonably portioned plate of food and did very minimal grazing. I can't be 100% sure, but I think I stayed under 2,000 calories for the day.

Today is my second high calorie day of the week (I should end at about 1700), but I did do 30 minutes of my biggest loser sculpting DVD. Tomorrow I'm back to my 1400-1600 range until next weekend (ANOTHER party and our anniversary....oy!) But one day at a time, right?

Hope everyone is enjoying their Sunday!
