I ate crappy calories today :( but did stay in my limit. My son races motocross so the dogs and I walked the track a couple times when the motorcycles weren't on the track, and then I raked out my flower beds and dug them up. I'm super tired!

Congrats Kim Z on quick loss!

Horo 03-20-2011 07:52 PM

I've been staying on plan and down 1/5 lbs today. Hope everyone else is doing well. :)

My goal for easter will be 5 pounds and to exercise at least 30 minutes 5 times a week. Good luck everyone! :carrot:

osu2k1 03-21-2011 02:38 AM

Tomorrow morning is weigh in day at Weight Watchers (I calorie count more than point count). I'd love to see myself hit 17 lb but I will love to see a loss just as much!

Today was a good day. Here are my stats from my Bodybugg:
Calories Burned: 3327
Calories Consumed: 2468 (ha, funny)
Calorie deficit: 759 (goal is 1000)
Physical Activity: 1 hr 8 min (goal 45 min)

ElizabethG 03-21-2011 10:37 AM

I decided to bite the bullet and move my ticker up. Since quitting Atkins my weight has gone between 192 and 194, but is usually in 193s. So I am using today's weigh in as my start weight for the challenge.

SW:193.6
GW: 189

I know its only 4 lbs but but since I've essentially not lost the past few weeks I don't want to set myself up to fail. 1 lb a week is realistic, I hope. lol

jigglefree 03-21-2011 10:55 AM

Good Morning. Another good day yesterday. I'm feeling like I got my mojo back. Looking forward to today being another GOOD day.

manders01 03-21-2011 11:36 AM

Morning! Yesterday went well in so much as I didn't go over my calorie allotment but I did end up eating more than planned and was right at it. Whoops. I took an hour long walk though so since I got in some exercise, not feeling bad about it. However, I did have to reach into the inner depths to stir up some will power last night. Wanted to snack so bad but managed to basically not (thank you stick of gum and dill pickle :D).

Planning for 1598 for today, weight lifting and cardio this evening.

Have a great Monday everyone!

NorthernExposure 03-21-2011 11:43 AM

Morning, ladies.

Looks like I'll be getting some more shoveling in this week. I had JUST put my winter boots away yesterday (you know, being that it was the first official day of spring and all), and wouldn't you know, they put us under a winter storm watch later that night. It's supposed to start tomorrow and go until Wednesday. The weathermen can't agree on the amount yet, but I've heard anything from "at least 6 inches" to "12-18". Oy.

Well, the only good thing about this is it's our first major "snow event" of the season to NOT hit over the weekend. Maybe we'll get a snow day yet :)

Plus, shoveling burns more calories than sitting at my desk, right? (I'm trying REALLY hard to be positive here, lol.)

fruitlady 03-21-2011 01:23 PM

Gloomy & rainy here in Pa. Everytime the weather is like this, I just want to lay around all day, be lazy & eat. I never do it, thankfully. Well the eating part I do sometimes! Like this morning, ate a huge breakfast, then continued to eat even though I was full. I'm way over my calorie limit and it's only 1:00pm. Lately I've been craving chocolate, peanut butter & marshmallow. I don't have it, so I'm safe. I'm so afraid I'll gain all my weight back, yet I can't control myself the way I used to. I'm in a slump & can't even stay in my calorie range anymore, I'm always over my limit. So today will be 1730 calories if I behave myself for the rest of the day. Not good!

manders01 03-21-2011 07:48 PM

So I just had this whole post ready...

Well I may break one of my goals in the first week! It's looking like I may go over my calorie allotment today (though my net will still be where I'm comfortable). I have been pretty hungry today and had a bit of a heavy snack this afternoon (paired my typical orange with a bag of 100 calorie chocolate covered pretzels). I have planned for a small snack post-workout (1/2 serving of rice cakes with 1/2 serving of PB2) and a pizza for dinner (the pretzels essentially were my evening snack). Based on how I feel right now, those two things are not going to cut it. Now I could change what type of pizza I eat and give myself 80 more calories to work with. But I really want the flavor of pizza I'm planning for. So I may just go over my allotment. :(

I don't know why I'm going on about this, especially since it hasn't even happened at this point. And it's not like I'm going to go hundreds of calories over my allotment, nor do I think it will cause me to binge. But I'm honestly already feeling a little guilty and I know I have nothing to feel guilty about!

I'll put money on the fact that I switch pizzas to allow for some extra food and alleviate my guilt. :D

...and literally could not post it. My guilt would not even let me! So I spent the past 15 minutes figuring out how I could still have what I wanted and not feel guilty. I think I came up with a pretty good solution! Instead of eating the whole pizza (it's a personal size though it's two servings), I'm only going to have half the pizza and add a large side of sauteed mushrooms and broccoli. This also leaves enough calories to increase my post-work snack to a full serving of rice cakes and a full serving of PB2 AND have a Skinny Cow Truffle bar for an evening snack AND have 60 calories leftover! Much better idea! :cb:

kifli 03-21-2011 08:33 PM

Count me in! I'll be weighing in on Sundays. This is great, since it's unlikely I will be making my 2nd mini goal at the end of March. Gives me some new motivation.
New Goal - Lose 10 pounds by Easter!

Starting: 145.5
Easter goal: 135

P H A T 03-21-2011 08:54 PM

Today was a pretty good day; the weather was beautiful & warm .. I didn't want to be inside at work !!!! .... I wore my heart monitor today & I burned a ton of calories because of all the stuff I was doing today. My little niece was born 3 months early today in an emergency Cesarean section.. She's only 2 lbs but she's strong for a premie.. She's here early, but I'm glad she's here. After all, she is my motivation for trying to lose weight .. :soap:

ElizabethG 03-21-2011 09:19 PM

NorthernExposure-That sucks about the snow!!!! It's been rainy and kinda chilly here in Iowa. I guess I should be happy I don't have snow! I hope it melts soon! Another plus for you is your body burns more calories trying to warm itself up when its cold! lol

manders-Awesome job on your good choice. I don't know if I could do that. I love pizza! :)

fruitlady-I know what you mean about it being gloomy out and wanting to eat and sleep. Just jump back on track tomorrow. One day will not ruin all of your excellent hard work.

Phat-Prayers and positive thoughts for your niece. I hope she does well. I had a friend who had a baby before she was even showing (and a few weeks before viability) and he survived and thrived and is in the 1st grade now! Wishes for health and happiness to you and your niece!

I am currently sitting at 1611 calories for the day. I don't plan on eating anything else tonight.

k15g15 03-21-2011 10:43 PM

Phat- Prayers for you. Things will work out little by little with a preemie. My stepdaughter's baby was born at 28 weeks and 2 lbs. and he is doing great at 4months old now. It is amazing what the hospital and doctors can do :)

manders01 03-21-2011 11:18 PM

Phat - Thoughts and prayers for the little one and your family.

Thanks! I actually think it was a fantastic choice. The two slices were just enough to lick the craving and I get to eat them again tomorrow! Yay! Plus my mushrooms and broccoli were as always super yummy. And I'm actually pretty full and haven't had my Truffle bar yet. But it's chocolate ice cream, I'm not skippin' that. :D

littlebumblebee 03-21-2011 11:56 PM

Hi I want to join, Please.

My Goals.

1. Count Calories every single day, even when I overeat, I will count those calories.
2. Exercise 6 days a week. Even if that means getting up early.
3. Go to bed and get plenty of sleep.
4. Eat only healthy foods(by excluding sugar, salt, junk food, etc.)
5. Be positive!
6. Lose 30 pounds.

osu2k1 03-22-2011 01:19 AM

Weighed in today, down .8. Not too bad, IMO.
Calories burned: 2446
Calories consumed: 2037
Deficit: 409
Physical Activity: 12 min

Tomorrow I am having my hip adjusted so hopefully that will make it easier/more comfy to workout. It's been really bothering me. So I plan on hitting the elliptical or bike tomorrow for 45 min.

rainbowstripe 03-22-2011 02:52 AM

I am sorry I have been so absent so far in this challenge. I got into a minor car accident on Friday night and hurt my neck. Have taken the past 2 days off work and have just not felt like posting. I've been tracking my calories but going over by 100 or so most days...I'm feeling kind of down.
Today I got the call back from the job I interviewed for last week - I didn't get it. I also got told yesterday that I've lost a shift at my current job as they are no longer going to open on Sundays.
It's a lot of crap all happening at once and it has me feeling down. That combined with the fact my weight still hasn't moved in a month...well...just not feeling so great.

P H A T 03-22-2011 08:36 AM

Thank you ladies for the prayers & well wishes.. I'm sure she will pull through .. I have a good feeling about her...

megems 03-22-2011 09:11 AM

I'm in again ladies!! Hopefully I will pull myself together for this challenge. 8 weeks until I start trying on wedding dresses!!!!

Here are my goals for this challenge:

1. Lose 15 pounds
2. Maintain my daily calorie intake 1600 or less
3. Get back into my morning workout schedule!!!
4. Check in on a daily basis!

Good luck to everyone! :D

NorthernExposure 03-22-2011 09:33 AM

Rainbow: So sorry to hear you're having such a hard time :( I hope you start feeling better (physically AND emotionally) real soon.

Phat: More thoughts and prayers for your neice. Keep us posted!

Osu2k1: congrats on the loss!

Manders: great job limiting yourself to just half a personal pizza! Pizza is one of those things I have a hard time controlling my portions on.

Welcome, little bumble!

Everyone I missed: sounds like most of you are off to a great start for this challenge!!

As for me: had 1590 calories and did my 2 mile WATP video yesterday (30 minutes). Barely under my 1600 cal "red line" for the workweek, but still there :)

Looks like the snow is supposed to start at 1:00 today. Keeping my fingers crossed that we don't have school tomorrow! As much as I don't want anymore snow, I can't help but get excited about the prospect of a snow day, lol (I'm just as bad as the kids!) But now they're kind of backing off on their earlier predictions. If we only get 4-8 inches, we'll probably have to work tomorrow :(

Lori259 03-22-2011 11:07 AM

Rainbow~So glad you survied the wreck~Hope u get better soon girl! !

~Praying for the premie Baby for ya PHAT~My daughter was premie (she was 4 lbs 11 oz~5 weeks almost 6 early~)She will be 18 years old May 17th:hug:

On "tom' Still Had a great day outdoors yesterday til a mega storm came in in the evening then I watched t.v.
~I am gonna try to go out again later if it doesn't rain~
Weighed 130.4 today(In the main weight time of my period~LOTS OF BLOAT & UGHH TYPE OF DAY With it) So I am gonna up my calories cause I am a maniac when Nice weather gets here outside & burning a ton of calories a day~So If I turn out a teansy mess throughout the warm seasons~Just ignore me ~LMBO! (cause eating a bunch of calories after limiting yourself so long is so hard to do~) I am working hard at it though to stay anywhere between 127 to 137~Not sure why them numbers but ~They seem to be whats in my mind at the moment.~TTYL!:dizzy:

manders01 03-22-2011 11:10 AM

rainbowstripe - Hoping things turn around for you soon!

Pretty typical day...in the kitchen this morning, errands and work this afternoon and cardio this evening. Planning on 1547 calories today including one of my new faves, spaghetti squash for dinner!

jigglefree 03-22-2011 11:50 AM

Good Day Ladies,
I'm feeling really good. I have had three great days and I expect that I will have some results on Saturday.
Manders - The spaghetti squash sounds interesting...how do you prepare that?
Lori - You are so helpful...THANKS>
Northern - SNOW??? We are supposed to be in the 80s today. The very reason I migrated south!!! You are doing really well...hopefully by August I will be sporting my goal sizes!!!
Rainbow -:hug:Been there but keep inhaling and exhaling and it will get better sooner than you think.

Let's all have fun today. We can live well and enjoy the process.:D

I use the oven method though it can be done in the microwave. Poke it with holes all over, place on a tray and bake at 375 for 1 hour. When done, slice in half, remove the seeds than use a fork to scrape out the strands. I have a lot of servings since they are so low-cal. For instance, tonight I'm having 6 servings (1/2 cup servings at 25 calories a piece). This tends to be more than one serving of pasta sauce will cover but I don't want to start doubling or tripling up on the pasta cause because of the calories. So I warm 1 serving of pasta sauce at 50 calories and 1 serving of Italian-style diced tomatoes (either leave chunky or puree in a blender) at 30 calories which comes out to about a cup of sauce. I typically throw in meat as well, chicken sausage or like tonight, Morningstar crumbles (I know, not really meat :D). This typically covers the squash perfectly. After the sauce and meat are warmed through, I add the squash to the pan, mix it all up and serve topped with a half serving of Parmesan cheese. YUMMY!

littlebumblebee 03-22-2011 01:03 PM

Hi everyone!
Reading everyone's updates, is helping me to stay true to myself. Each day is a struggle. But, checking in here, will force me to take a serious look at my eating habits.

Today, is my day one of exercising. It is hard, but I must push myself. And last night after checking in here, I planned my menu for today and I plan to stick with it.

Melissa, congratulations on the .8 loss.

Rainbow, I am sorry to hear that you are going through a difficult time. I hope you feel better soon.

PHAT, I hope all is well.
Megems, I am trying to fit back into my wedding dress!
Northern, When I was in school, we did get many snow days, but if there was ice on the roads, school was cancelled and I was so happy to stay in bed.

Lori, you are very brave. I am scared of the scale, but I espcially avoid it, when I have my period.
Jiggle, I will be so happy when I reach day 3 of being back on track with my eating and exercising.

manders, I hope to get to the day, when I can enjoy a delicious dish, without binging.

Luka822 03-22-2011 02:03 PM

My goal by Apr. 24 is a 5lb loss.

Thanks! I'm actually still a little surprised I was able to. Usually I pick at leftovers a bit when they're cooling off to go in the fridge. I did eat a few bites of the chicken sausage I cooked up last night but still in my allotment so not feeling guilty about it. But those were hard not to devour...so good. Basil Chicken and Jalapeno Chipotle Chicken...YUM!

Hi Everyone! - I'm curious, has anyone ever tried - Better n peanut butter- It's a low cal, low fat version of peanut butter. I'd like to buy some, but I'm afraid it will taste bad, I don't want to waste any money on it if I have to throw it away! Let me know, Thanks!!

Did good with my calories( 1300) Rode the bike for 25min. then went food shopping. I made hubby take all his junk food to work with him so it's not here. So I'm good for tonight, no temptation. I ate too much yesterday, but I lost 1lb. It's bound to catch up with me by tomorrow, I never get away with it. I'm expecting a gain in the morning!

I haven't tried that but I do have the PB2 and I adore it!!! I'm so happy to find low-cal peanut butter. I know some have mentioned the texture is a bit different than regular but I just as a smidge more water and think it's almost spot on. So if you haven't tried it, it's another option out there.

In fact I love it so much I had a BIG PB&J sandwich for lunch and it was heaven! :D

manders01 03-22-2011 08:33 PM

So my typical work out schedule is weights and light cardio on M - W - F, moderate cardio on T - Sa and walks on Sa - Su with my one true day off on Thursdays. I went to go put my work out clothes on tonight and just said to heck with it! :D I'm feeling a little beat, worked hard today and just want a day off! So I'm taking one. ;) I'll move my Tuesday work out to Thursday and I'm sure I'll be none the negatively impacted for doing so.

Lori259 03-23-2011 12:06 AM

I read everything~But all I could focus on was that mention of lower calorie peanut butter~I soooooooo Gotta try it ASAP! LOVE YA FRUIT!

Off to bed~So sleepy & craving peanut butter now~Better go to bed before I get into a jar of the lovely High calorie stuff~(LOL) I will resist I promise~ G'nite everyone

Missjessica 03-23-2011 10:15 AM

I'm in as well! Very excited for an Easter challenge. I gave up biscuits for Lent as at tea break, I think I was eating 3 a day out of habit... oops! I don't usually celebrate with food, but I will be celebrating with a cookie and hopefully a 5 lb loss! Glad to have found such a chatty group, I'm seeing my name on so many posts on the main board, I feel a bit pathetic :o

Goals: -5 lb and consistency through the next 5 weeks (proper calorie range and regular exercise through the week)

Looking forward to getting to know everyone, good luck ladies :)

NorthernExposure 03-23-2011 10:57 AM

1520 calories yesterday, 20 minutes wii zumba and 10 minutes weight lifting. No snow day :(. We did get a late start this morning as there was a little more snow in the school district where I work (I live about 1/2 hr from my work), but we only got like 1/2 inch at our house. I guess I'm happy as I really want to get on with spring, but it's still disappointing when the weather people predict this huge storm and it turns out to be nothing!

manders01 03-23-2011 11:27 AM

I can' say that I'm feeling refreshed and rejuvenated after taking the evening off last night but I'm still very glad I did. I felt great to just sit after being busy yesterday. :cloud9:

But back at it today! :lifter: Planning on 1585 calories with weight lifting and cardio today. My planned calories were lower but since yesterday afternoon after having one of the best PB&Js ever and fruitlady's post, I can't seem to get enough PB. Already had a banana planned for breakfast and thought how yummy it would be to have some on top of it. So I made a serving of PB2 and slathered it on there. :D But I only added 22-1/2 calories because I realized I had a full serving planned for my post-work out snack and that's more than plenty for 4 mini rice cakes.

Hello ladies !! it's a beautiful spring day over here in Kentucky .. the wind is just right & the sun is shining, not too hot though. The bad part is that I'm at WORK ..!! stuck inside away from the beautiful weather.. I'll be out of work in the next couple hours though. I plan on going walking & doing a little working out, & then off to see my baby niece in the NCIU at the hospital. She's doing well, they're winging her off the ventilator already .. her lungs are strong for a little bitty thing.. I've attached a picture of her with my brother touching her while in the incubus yesterday.. she's a soldier!! .. anyway, I hope everyone's having a great week so far !!

Missjessica 03-23-2011 02:16 PM

Soldier indeed, she is so preciously tiny! Hope things continue to go well and you enjoy your visit.

Was the same here, beautiful weather on a Wednesday, but it's suppose to cool down for the weekend. Go figure, eh? I'm off to Body Attack. It was a pretty awful day, so I'm looking forward to channeling it into a lot of calories burned!! Have a good evening everyone :)

TiredOfGettingBigger 03-23-2011 02:27 PM

Northern- I need to get me some wii zumba, do you like it?
PHAT-The baby is so tiny, she's in my prayers.
Bee- Welcome. You still sticking with 30day shred? Its so hard to stay motivated to do it. I moved on to level two and went from enjoying the workout to it being one of the hardest 25 mins ever. I think I may go back to level one today, Its so hard to do it every day.

To the others the other day we did have a bbq, he ended up getting some turkey brats that were good. Also found some turkey hot dogs that are only 40 cals. Not the best food to eat but a good alternative to a Hamburger.

I have been sticking in my calorie range. I had a few nice days to go for a walk/jog but now the weather stinks.... So cold and rainy today, just wanna lay around in a blanket all day.
Kinda bummed my biggest part of my wieght loss I believe is that every wednesday I go and play wallyball for like 2-3hrs. I burn a ton of calories and have lots of fun (always have a 2 pound drop next day), but tonight I have no sitter. :-(
For the last week no significant wieghtloss either. I cheated on st. pattys day but I didnt gain wieght, it just stop my wieghtloss. Any natural ways to boost it? I'm exerciseing and 1300 calorie limits.
I hope I didnt hit some type of plateau.

Best wishes to the rest of you.

megems 03-23-2011 02:42 PM

HI ladies. Okay, so funny you all are talking about peanut butter - I heart peanut butter, and just eat the normal 190 calorie servings when I want it (or 80 if it's just on toast). I myself had a heavenly PB&J sandwich for lunch, so I find it ironic you all are talking about it!

I would love to find a low-cal pb that isn't paste!

Did good with my calories yesterday & got 40 mins on the treadmill. Tonight, I plan to go home and do some strength training, and get up in the morning to get in some Pilates. I really need to kick it up about three notches.

For my birthday, one of my co-workers bought me a candy jar for my desk area, filled it with reese's cups (bite size) plus a filler bag. What kind of evil is this? PB & chocolate are my favorites. So, I walked around my office to let everyone know that there is Reese's cups at my desk, and I know that 5 pieces = 220 calories. So if I absolutely need to eat it, I can remind myself how many BAD calories I am eating - I won't lie - I eat them but I count each little one in my food diary! But still EVIL ~ My fiancee thinks she is trying to sabotage me!!
