Felt good after my workout. I got my face like flint on that size 10. I will keep going because on my one year date I would love to be at goal. I can see myself on the cruise chillaxing with my daughter and husband looking FAB!!!
Halfbaked - Long as you don't give up and keep working you will make progress!! YaYa - How was your day today. Did you make good strides staying on plan. Rainbow - Stick to your counting like you do on your cheat days. One day going too far over can lead to disaster. You are doing great and don't want to thwart your progress. Love - Good to see you visiting. Hope things are well with you!! Fruitlady - How was your weight today? I'm sure you are back down though. Bigmama - Sorry to hear about your dad. Your calories are still in the loss neighborhood so it's all good!! Make it a great day today and tonight!! |
Lori: Hugs!! You deserve some drama free time real soon!!
Love: Hi! Glad to see you :) Jiggle: Glad to hear you made up with hubby. And you'll be cruisin' in style come January!! Mama: 1330 cals is just fine! When I was at your weight I allowed quite a bit more and still lost...no worries! Sorry to hear about your dad :( 1travel: great job walking during lunch! I just am not that motivated during the work day. Yaya: I'm not quite going to be in onderland for this challenge, but I'm right behind ya! Good for you! Rainbow: you'll get lots of opinions on how to handle your cheat day. I would say its safest to have one good cheat MEAL, but keep the rest of the day in check. One day totally off plan won't kill you (I know I've done it), but it's just harder to get back on the horse again the next day, at least in my experience. Half baked: this is ALL ABOUT getting back up after you fall. Took me a long time to "get" that, but I think that's one of the main reasons THIS weight loss journey is successful for me. Western: Sounds like you have a good plan! As for me....having a good OP day and thinking about upping the exercise to 45 min this evening. My goal is to do at least 30 minutes 5-6 days a week, but more is even better :) Have a happy hump day tomorrow! |
Thanks for the advice on the cheat day, jigglefree and NorthernExposure. I know everyone handles that kind of thing differently. I also know that I'm the type of person who, even if I say I'm going to let go for a day, will still be consciously thinking about it all in my mind - I know I'm really unlikely to make horrible choices and eat way over the top, and I also know that if I do, I'll feel like crap and will definitely get right back onto it the next day. I'm so set on losing this weight, more than one day off every few months is just not an option.
Today I'm feeling a little bit disheartened. No loss since last week. My birthday goal is now most likely unattainable, and while that thought isn't exactly the end of the world, I'm more disappointed that my loss seems to have slowed down hugely (I will not say stopped, because that would make me very upset). I am not sure if perhaps I need to change something in my calorie intake, maybe up or down or something...I'm hesitant to change things too often/too drastically in case I mess things up...but on the other hand I'd like to see more loss like I did in the first 1.5 months! If anyone has ideas on this, they're most welcome... |
jiggle- Thanks, the weight just came right back off, don't understand that one.
Today was my higher calorie day, and wow was it high! I lost the weight I gained ( from what, I don't know) Now I will gain again for sure! Tomorrow it's my lower calorie day, I probably won't even be hungry tomorrow after eating so much today. Good luck to everyone!!! |
Hello friends!
Thank you for your kind comments everyone! The support that you receive here is amazing! I have found my home on the site and I thank you for your hospitality!! You are correct – I am very lucky to have a wonderful track next to my home, but I need to make sure that I use it! I had full intentions of going out tonight for an hour, but after a long grueling day at work, I went upstairs and sat on my bed for a few minutes. I was trying to reach my mom, who seems to always be on the phone!! I was hoping that she might join me but before I ever reached her, I fell asleep and slept for over an hour and a half! Now I need to tell you that I telecommute and today was the first day of a three-day class that I am teaching, and it very intensive. This is the first class on this new subject and it’s really exciting as I developed the curriculum and class guides. So if the classes are a success, I did well but if they aren’t well need I say more? It is a lot of pressure, but I do love what I do, so I am trying to see it as an opportunity to excel at a topic I am well versed on! Today’s Calories: 1 c. raisin bran cereal with 1 c. non-fat milk – 290 calories 1 Yoplait light peach yogurt – 110 calories Small salad with balsamic vinegar – 240 calories Salad with grilled chicken strips and non-fat honey dressing – 450 Total Calories: 1090 Under my 1200 calorie daily intake allowance Exercise – well since I slept this evening too long and it got dark, I did floor work. Crunchiest, push-ups, leg lifts and then some light weight work on my arms. I realized that when I look at my calendar that I could be at 185 pounds by Christmas if I only lose 2 pounds a week – a realistic goal, don’t you think? Wow, this is the first time that I am viewing this as a lifestyle change, rather than a diet. It’s about health and looking at food as fuel. I suffer from moderate OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder), so I am battling that big time. Usually I am either dieting or I’m not – NO in between. Moderation is what I am trying to embrace and if I can learn that, I KNOW that I will make my goal weight and maintain it. Have a great Wednesday! Travelchick |
Good evening everyone! Hope everyone had a good day. I sure did except the scale is still not being nice. Thank you NorthernExposure hope your right.

Morning
Today im walking the dog then doing a cardio + core workout, i would love to get in a yoga workout in too but will see. I measured my walk yesterday in the car and it came to be exactly 2 miles! That's pretty cool. So im walking 2miles every time i walk the doghttp://cathe.com/forum/images/smilies/smile.gif I went over on my calories yesterdayhttp://cathe.com/forum/images/smilies/rolleyes.gif DH decided to cook a pizza last night while watching the braves game and i was starving(which usually isn't the case) I had a very small slice then a little bit of chocolate frozen yogurt. I figure my damage is about 600 calshttp://cathe.com/forum/images/smilies/redface.gif oh well, it happens....can't be perfect all the timehttp://cathe.com/forum/images/smilies/wink.gif I did burn close to 700 calories yesterday so i know i won't gain, might even help my metabolism and i will lose more than my average pound. Our bodies are marvelous fuel burning furnaces and feeding the furnace can have its advantages;) |
Just checking in...
I'm down .4 lbs this week. I know that's not much, but I'm going for slow and steady. As long as its down (or the same, but down is best) and not going up I am happy. I've been pretty good with calories. I have trouble tracking on the weekend though. During the week I'm at my desk all day at work so its easy to fill out the day's and then add in dinner if i know what i'm having then go into tweak at night if i need to. But weekends seem to be unplanned and random stuff so if i'm going over it seems to be there. I know I'm not losing as fast as I could if i went with a lower calorie count, but I AM losing so I think I'm going to stick with my 2000 cal max for now. In other news my hubby who has been on Phase 1 of Atkins since Feb. has lost 134 lbs so far! Started at 407 and is now 273! Wowsers! So proud of him! Looks like everyone is doing good! Keep it up! :D |
rainbow,
have you tried increasing the intensity/length of w/o? great job everybody! keep going!:carrot: |
Good Day everyone,
I just finished a great workout and very satisfying and filling lunch. It's a great day to stay on plan!!! Have a wonderful day!!! Work the plan and the plan will work. |
katy trail When I have got time, I do try to do longer workouts, and because usually I only have time for short ish ones, I try to make them as intense as possible. Sometimes if I go too intense though, I feel really sick either during or right after, like I'm going to spew.
~~ Weight is holding steady. I guess because I'm measuring on a kilogram scale I'm not seeing small drops as I might see if I were weighing in pounds. For me though, as well as the fact that metric is just what we use in New Zealand, I think it's also a good thing because if I were losing .xx of a pound or whatever, I would become way too obsessed. I ate McDonald's last night. Not a great moment, but I was under calories for the day at the end of the day anyway, and within my fat grams, so I guess it is just a sodium issue. I got heaps of fruit and veges in yesterday as well, it is not the end of the world. I also jogged for 8 minutes straight on the treadmill yesterday (as well as a workout dvd) and I'm really proud of that. I know I couldn't have done that 2 months ago, would have barely made it past 2 minutes. |
Gained 2 lbs so far from eating a bit too much yesterday. And you know what? I ate to much today also. Not too bad, not as bad as yesterday. Why did I do this?? I ate what I wanted til i was full, but it wasn't the best food choices. My husband wanted to try Nutella, that's why I am having trouble. I also bought organic peanut butter with no salt or sugar added, first jar I bought in 5 mo. I mainly got it for him so he could make sandwiches, normally I make my own 2 servings and never make enough for him. I've been nibbling on both and it's gotta stop. Can't wait til it's gone and out of this house!

So I am still working on that one.Was at 1400 Getting about 1400 to 1500 daily in most days and sometimes 1600~it's a start I guess.~ANYWAYS..... Been a while since I updated, still going goo, stuck to all my goals. Two days left of my detox and then I'll be able to eat more varieties of food, REALLY looking forward to eating meat again XD
Great job all of you on keeping up! And don't mind the minor slips, just stick to the bigger picture =) we're doing great! |
Hello All, quick post for me as well. Just popping in say im doing pretty good despite going over on calories the last two days but i have also increased my workout time and went heavier in weights, guess it will all balance out in time. The good news is the scale is being pretty kind to me, no increase with the higher calories. Anyways...did a pretty good workout today. 2 mile power walk, followed by upper body heavy free weights followed by 35min high intensity step aerobics. Then a nice 10min stretch. Didn't plan on doing the cardio but i felt good so i took advantage. Maybe the extra calories these past few days helped with my 'good feeling'?
