Some of us met our goals, some of us only got partway there,some went the wrong direction, but we all put in a great effort, learned some lessons, made new friends, and supported each other... and that's what these challenges are for. Now, we're ready to set our sights on a new challenge, new goals, and the next 1 month & 5 days of this journey! Here's how it works... Set a goal or goals that you would like to reach before Columbus Day (Columbus Day IS Oct.11th) . Your goals can be anything: pounds you want to lose, a smaller clothing size or outfit you'd like to fit into, sports or fitness achievements, or just a goal of keeping food and exercise on track. Whatever gets you excited about working your plan over the next few weeks, is the right goal for this challenge. You can set as many or as few goals as you like. All are welcome! If you're not sure what your goal will be yet, but would like to join up and find some weight loss buddies, get and give support, please jump in, and you can post a goal later, when you think of something. Our main purpose is to motivate each other to keep the food on plan, keep exercising, keep getting leaner, more fit, and healthy. GOAL/GOALS:OK I think I wanna Keep on with my toning exercises~I am Not to worried with Pounds lost exactly anymore so wanna get the firm belly So inches loss is fine with me....Its starting to happen slowly but surely...With solid exercising. So My goal is to basically to continue with Staying on plan & keep working on my toning exercises~So close to maintaining~So I am ok with the 145 I have been clinging onto for weeks now...Just wanna look firm~I Will...With lost of hard work. OOOOOO LORI I LOVE YOU!!!! That Labor Day Challenge was So Long. I'm feeling good today but I haven't logged one single calorie but I haven't been out of control. Fresh start tomorrow and I'll be logging every morsel that passes my lips.
I'm going for a something easy...not really but I will be aiming for 1400 calories per day. I will log my calories and hopefully these fat rolls will get much smaller than they are today. I will continue to do my two miles a day so that should translate into a sexier me. |

I am definitely in. I exceeded my Labor Day goal by 1.2 so I am siked :woohoo: My goal this challenge is ... ~ to get my water in through all that's going on with the kids. ~ to get my 1600 calories in by planning my meals ahead of time. <--- this has been hard for me. ~ to do some form of exercise before the kids get home from school because once they get home I don't have time. ~ to lose 6lbs, at 168.8 today ... so 162.8 goal 1lb per week by 10/11/10 I am so excited :hug: |
Okay...even though this will be a shorter challenge than Halloween would have been, I'm still going to shoot for 205.5, which is halfway between my starting weight and goal weight! (Still not sure if 137 is the "right" weight for me...but it's something to shoot for until I get closer.)
So 8.5 lbs in a little over a month. This is a lot more than I've been losing lately, but I have slacked off a lot over the summer...so we will see! |
I haven't done a challenge in the calorie counters area yet, even though calorie counting is what I do! So I'm going to do this one! I have a goal to lose another 3 kilograms/6.6pounds by my birthday on October 2nd so for October 11th (we don't actually have Columbus Day here in New Zealand funnily enough heh!) I am going to make it a goal to lose 3.5kg/7.7pounds.
I know it's a stretch, but I won't be too disappointed if I don't make it all the way there, it's just something to work towards! My other goal is to keep my calories at the right level and not continually go under every day! So: 1650-1700 on exercise days 1500-1550 on non-exercise days Lose 3.5kg/7.7pounds Let's see how it goes! Oh hi by the way, I'm Sarah, I post mainly in the 20-somethings forum :D |

My goal will be to enter Onderland, so 199! I weighed in at 204 exactly today. So 5 lbs. My calorie ranges: 2000 - Max (only 1 or 2x per week max) 1700 - Ave (most days) 1500 - Min I have a question. When we check in should we add to our original post or post a new reply? Thanks! |

I know this is the Columbus Day Challenge, but I have always thought of Columbus Day as my birthday holiday, since it always falls within a few days of my birthday.

I know this aint the same outfit....But we have had a few chili mornings here lately so the pic in the shorts Was took On 4th Of July First Day of the last challenge & the one in jeans & jacket was took on the 4th of September 2 months later with Staying on plan nearly daily & Doing my toning exercises At least 6 times a week ~usually all 7.~I have not lost much pounds wise But I can tell Those toning exercises are working good! I AM SOOO HAPPY!~OH the reason I am a bit taller on the 2nd side is those boots had heels. I'm in! My goal is to lose 10 lbs. I know it's a stretch and I won't be too disappointed if I don't. That's just a side goal. My *REAL* goals (heh) are:

Lori- You look so good! Your looking so thin, you must be proud! What kind of toning exercises are you doing? And how long did it take to get those great results?
Good to see everyone here!! I'm in again! I need these challenges, it keeps me motivated. Again, my goal is to maintain in the 105lb. range, to continue taking 40min. or more walks/jogging everyday, i call it wogging & to stay within my calorie range of 1200 to 1500, another goal is to stay in control so I don't binge or overeat and allow myself treats when I want in moderation, so far this is helping with the overeating issue, I'm 15 days w/ no binges or overeating. I'm in of course!!! My goal is 5lbs...today I weighed in at 170 and so I'd like to be at 165...plus, keep doing 30 Day Shred 3 days a week and doing the treadmill atleast 3-4x a week......

:comp: It's 6:49 here in OHIO~I am half asleep & ready for that bus to hurry up & get here cause I am gonna go back to bed this morning(bus comes at 7:03 USUALLY) ~LOL! I will get a shower & do my exercises as soon as I get back up Around 9:30 or 10:00 & eat.(GEESH I AM SOOO SLEEPY TODAY Ignore all my typing errors as usual~LOL) I am trying my best to be more active in this challenge about posting.:dizzy:

Fruitlady~I still walk 45 Minutes 2x's a day & Then after each walk I do 30 squats/35 crunches(cause I can't do a situp LOL)/~all the next are done when I am laying on my back...Or side...I do 30 leg lifts I call them the scissors. Laying on my side with each leg/Then I lay onto my back & lift my legs held straight one at a time 20 times each/Then I do each one again 30 times but lift them by bending my knees . Then I open & close my legs which works the inner thighs 30 times~Just knees touching them together then opening up then reclose(looks kinda sexual~sorry thats the only way I can't think of to describe it.:crazy:~LOL)/Then I Lay flat on my back still & lift both legs at same time without bending knees & hold them up for 5 to 10 seconds(this hurts like crap in the abs area~all over basically~LOL) I do them 10 times....Then I get up & do my 30 squats... & I lift a 2 lb weight 30 lifts with each arm(I know that aint much but I had a badly broken elbow when I was 4 so I have to take it easy on that arm ) anyways I do them exercises each time after I walk 45 mintutes(2x's a day) They seem to be working ~I am working on tummy,upper legs,& upper arms mainly.Plus I do regular chores ~laundry /dishes /running errands ~stuff like that but not over doing it except when I hang clothes out on the line which I have been doing most of the summer But my hubby & kids help sometimes so I consider it a basic chore.~Hope that was helpful & spelled right LOL~I am so sleepy! OH & as u know I do not work I am a stay at home mom/housewife...So no extras other than the said above :welcome: To all those new to the CC Challenges & those who have been in them before~:coach: Do your best because your best is better than your worst:D Well the bus came 10 minutes ago since I wrote a book on here LOL Super slowly since I am sooooooo sleepy~I will type again soon ~HUGS TO ALL :hug:!!! Looks like you have found what works for you body...congrats to you!:hug: Oh and i wish i lived closer to you too...would LOVE to take those clothes off your hands;) Fruitlady- Way to go on the 15 days w/no binges. AWESOME. I know how hard that habit is to break. I too have been allowing little indulgences every now and then and just count the calories to it. Its been working for me too. yay Wanted to say :welcome: to all the new comers:) I've got Lower body weights on tabs for today then abb work. First i will walk the dog for 40mins. Lori, there is something to walking that i think is underestimated. Ever since i started Power walking more in the mornings (and sometimes evenings) i have noticed my legs getting smaller. That with the combination of lower calories and my weight workouts my body is slowly transforming. I love that we have people on here that met goal and still here :) Reminds me that this is a way of life not a diet.. Eating healthy and exercise is a lifetime goal not a until I get to goal weight.
Have all my goals down...Now the hard part sticking to them ;) Have a long day today with my daughters dance class today will not be home until late so I'm going to precut everything so all I have to do is throw everything in the pan... No fast food |

Urgh, I'm back up to 173 pounds / 78.5 kilograms. Frustrating! Staying in that same 1 kilogram range for nearly 2 weeks now! Off to exercise now, not going to let it derail me from my goals!

I'm joining this challenge as well.
My first goal for this challenge is to say goodbye to the 160s. On Columbus Day (well, for me in Canada it will be Thanksgiving Day) I want to weigh 159.9 at the most. My second goal is to do 15 workouts of the 30 day shred video between now and Thanksgiving. I really want to lower my BF%. I will weigh-in every Thursday and then one last time on October 11th. |
Just checking in...first day at work with the kids today...very busy to say the least! We also have houseguests for a few days, so not really able to get my exercise in. Doing well on calories so far though! Going to WI Friday, hope I haven't gained too much since returning from Colorado this weekend!

Hello all, just getting back on the losing weight track and I basically am trying portion control and counting calories. I need a challenge to get started so I was glad to see this one! Lets see my goals from here to Columbus day are:
1) exercise 4x per week even if for only 20 minutes 2) Get my water up! Im thinking 60oz is good for me, I usually get only 20-30 in. 3) Limit "fast food" to only 2 times a week. My life is so hectic I plan very poorly and end up eating out way too much. -HBL |

I am about 185 right now, so my goal is to lose 6 lb and get back into the 170s!!! Also to work out at least 3-4x per week! :)

Okay so I ran yesterday, this morning I got in my 45 minute walk and have a ride scheduled with my horse buddy tomorrow morning! On track so far! And this morning the scale said 163.4! Yay! So maybe that 1 to 1.5 lb bounce I have been having is GONE because I HATE it! Come on 150s! Going to Oklahoma this weekend for the Florida State v. Oklahoma football game (don't ask -the things we do for our DHs) so that will be a challenge but I am up for it!

My hubby isn't into football but if he was I still wouldn't watch it :lol: Lori- We are a month into dance classes and she seems to like them. I'm glad shes into something active. Shes super excited to be in chorus again this year too! I'm happy to be back and looking forward to getting back where I'm supposed to be. Maybe a 3fc cruise :D that would be so fun! I'm about an hour away from a port too! So today I have a super sinus headache... I can't find any sinus meds that work..Exercise isn't going to happen if I can't get it to go away but will stay on plan no doubt about it ;) ... Anyone know of any brand of sinus meds that actually work... or maybe that just don't work on me :( |
I did not get up to jog this am, I was actually able to sleep in until 6:15 am. I guess staying up and reading text books until 1am is good for something. :) My legs have been tired the last few days, so I was due for a rest day. I can go to bed early tonight, so hopefully I will be nice and rested for a good jog tomorow.
I have been wondering why I was so bloated and then TOM started today. I was thinking that I had cursed myself for setting such a high goal for weightloss. Hopefully in a few days all this bloat will go away. |

Yesterday ended up being a 45min power walk and that's it, i was beat..just tired all day. I even went to bed early. Today was a 35minute step aerobic + 30 min Upper body heavy weights (click on the link for a pre-view from youtube). I wasn't really motivated for some reason but i made myself get dressed and get it over with. Felt great when i was done. Total time was 63mins and Burned 490 calories all together. *pats herself on the back* I've got some pretty good news! I'm seriously thinking about joining a gym this weekend!!:D I've been working out at home for the past 5yrs so this is going to be a lot different then what im use to! ok, sorry to ramble on...everyone have a great day:hug: |
Not really happy unfortunately - still stuck at 78.5 kilograms (173 pounds). It's so frustrating, I really hadn't hoped to hit a plateau this soon but am trying not to call this a plateau just yet... Also TOM is about to happen - but I kind of thought that since I'm on the pill and skip it sometimes, it wouldn't have so much of an effect on my weight/water retention as it would for those who just have natural periods.
On a positive note, have kept my calories at around the same number every day this week. I am always good with calorie counting, but this week I am trying to stick to the same number every day pretty much. |
Hi everyone! I see everyone is doing great. I feel good about myself also. Went to the dr. today and i'm going down again. I was 263 by the dr. scale mine says 262 so thats close enough. He measured my waist and it was 45
and my hips measured 56. And I'm wearing size 24 in everything so got to clean out the closet again. The doctor seem to be proud of what I lost told me to keep it up and walk, walk, walk. I'm rather do water arobics tho. Thats more fun. No pain. But when I walk its very painfull but i'm going to try to do the tredmill. Since we only have 1 month and 4 days with this challenge, I will go for 5 lbs in this challenge. OK I did 90 minutes of water arobics this morning but I still want to do some excercises this evening so going to get off here and get busy. HEEELLLLLOOOOOOOOOO I'm excited. I got my calories in today and I'm at 1305 calories for the day. I'm sooooo excited. I didn't workout today because I was cleaning the house and running errands.
:woohoo::woohoo: We are going to have a great challenge and I don't want anyone to be hard on themselves if you have a bad day or don't reach your goal. As long as you work your plan and your body you will be farther along than when you first started. I'm really feeling good about this challenge. I know anything can happen at any moment but we are able to keep going and get to goal. Bigmama - :carrot::carrot:Congrats on the progress. Keep going because the next time you go to the dr. there will be a really big surprise for the dr. By the by I cleaned my closet out today and took everything to Goodwill. Rainbow - Stay within your calorie range and it will be well. You will probably get a good whoosh after TOM. Misspriss - Go ahead and join the gym. You will be super motivated and people will see you working out and get inspired. Sometimes a trainer will wander through and make great suggestions!! WIN-WIN! Love2b - It's all good. It will be only a couple of days and you'll be talking about a big loss. You are going to make everyday of this challenge count. No matter which way your body toggles it will land on the right side of the scale!!! Envelope - High goals are great because you either reach it and go bananas or you miss it by a few and are still in a good place to celebrate. Lori - When I said hippy...I was talking about my hips and they are trying to buck the system but I will not be denied my size 10. Happy evening everyone and I will check in after my workout tomorrow. I've been fighting a cold and have had a sinus headache but I took some ALEVE D and it's working well. But when it wears off, I feel miserable. By the by...I tried some cough drops because I have these coughing spells and what to my curious mind should appear but the calories in those things. 15 whole calories in one cough drop. Well I calculate it in my total for the day but I was hoping for like 5. I don't have the sugarless ones because I bought them last year when I wasn't concerned about calories!! Okay now I'm rambling...that happens when I finish a coaching session. I have so much fun as a life coach it's what I was born to do. Good Night Ladies!!! |
