Tracy, and welcome to the challenge! If you need any help navigating the boards, just give a shout.
Everyone else
Hattie, sorry about that. I was doing a flyby, my mistake, but congrats on hitting ONEderland, and you definitely get a flamey for that!
Lori, you get one too, for your 50 lbs lost...woot!!!
Barb, try not to freak about the weight...I was up for 2 weeks in a row, pre-TOM, then TOM week and we did a LOT of deadlifts and max lifts that week...finally down again this week, all gone and a new low, so keep the faith, baby! I am missing the FB, too. Maybe she's just super busy, because it's wedding season, and just working all the time.
Oakey, congrats on the new low!!
Angel, glad the scale is moving again...I hate being stuck for very long!
I hit 173.0 again today, which really surprised me, since I was ravenous yesterday and ate a ton of fruit and two yogurts right before bed last night. Not sure what was up with that, but I was just craving the sugar.
Been having fun with my crossfit workouts this week...I love the crossfit gym, the supportive atmosphere, plus my trainer likes to focus on olympic lifting a lot, which I really like!
They are getting some new t-shirts for the gym, and I optimistically ordered size medium t-shirts for the summer. Now I'm a little nervous, thinking maybe I should have gone for large. If they're still there Monday, I might try on the sample shirts before I get all sweaty, if that's allowed. I don't want anything too tight, since I still have the "spare tire" going on. I can definitely use the new shirts, since I've shrink-ed out of everything and have been down to 3 t-shirts that I can wear to the gym. Shrinking is great, except it gets expensive buying new clothes. I might hit the goodwill to see if I can score some jeans and shorts to get me through my current size, since I am not sure how long I'll be here, and running out of clean clothes every third day is NOT working for me!
Today is a rest day, gym is closed. I have some chores to do around the house, but otherwise am trying to take it easy and be as lazy as possible! Hope you all enjoy the weekend. The sun is trying to peek out here, but is battling with some cloud cover, so it's not warming up as much as I'd like!
Hey Everyone! What's up? It's gotten so quiet around here. Let's make some noise!
All is fairly good here. Busy as usual. My hubby is out of town for the week so it's just the little boys and me. I'm adjusting my work schedule slightly so I can get in my workouts before getting the kiddos from daycare. Tonight I took them out for dinner and then we potted a bunch of flowers/plants on the deck. It was a nice evening....I'm still trying to get the oldest to sleep. I think he's finally settled down. Nope...sleep issues haven't improved. I'm curled up in bed having an allergy attack and watching The Biggest Loser. I'm finding it interesting to watch this time since I consider myself a Big Loser.
The scale and my body are still messing with me. TOM never showed up but my body acts like it did. This is nothing really new. It happens occassionally. I know the scale will move again soon.
What's everyone else up to? I'm gonna go sneeze some more and finish watching TBL.
Hi everyone! Wow you guys have been progressing while I've been gone. I'll have to go back and read the last few pages and see how everyone is coming along.
I just got back from my vacation in PR and had a great time. Gained some weight, definitely, the ethnic food was delicious. I did go hiking in the national forest one day and managed to hit the gym twice in the five days I was gone so that was an accomplishment for me since when I've been on vaca in the past I NEVER worked out.
I'm back on track though and hopefully will still reach my goal of a 5 pound loss before Memorial Day!
3 more lbs to my goal which means I am going to go way over my goal! I don't even want to adjust my goal, I just want to see how much I can lose my memorial day!
barb- hugs i can so relate to the scales not moving.I went thru months of that. Mine are moving super slowly now...like a 1/2 to a lb a week. I can tell my body is changing though.I cant wait to measure tommorow morning.
I have a ?? I always weigh about 4lbs less in the am than at night but for a few weeks it is lower at night?? any ideas?? no water pills or anything in my bloodpressure med. I find it strange seeing how i drink a gallon of water everyday. I may start going with my sunday night weight if its lower than monday mornings.
I spent over 90 min today using a hoe in our garden. My shoulders and arms are killing me.I think it will be a weekly thing if not more often than that. To bad veggies dont grow as fast as the weed do!!
time for bed
hugs to all
Barb - Congrats on being asked to do a testimonial. That is great. I know I did one at the gym that has been posted for about 10 months now and was recently updated. I hope that it inspires others. That is why I did it. I like to help others lose weight also. Sorry about the scale not going down. If it continues for a while you may want to try changing up your routine or adjusting your calories. Sometimes we just have to work through those darn plateaus. Just keep working at it and the scale will go down again.
Tracy - Welcome. Good luck on reaching your goal.
Jam - I sympathize about always having to get new clothes. I have lost 110 lbs in a year and 4 months. I have gone through many sizes and frequently wear stuff that is too big since I don't have the funds to continually buy new clothes. I have 4 sets of gym clothes and constantly do laundry. Those clothes are getting too big also so soon I will have to get some more. It is good but expensive to buy clothes that you will only fit into for a few months.
Cammie - glad you had a great time on vacation. I don't think I have ever exercised on vacation unless you count all of the walking around. Good job.
Vouge - so close to your goal. I know you will blow past it.
dgramie - not sure about the nighttime weigh in. I know that has happened sometimes to me in the past. I still stick with my morning number and only count week to week (although I usually weigh every day in the morning and evening).
I have been having a great week. I did not do the 30DS video this morning but it is my 1st time missing it. I really wanted to do it for 30 days straight but my body really was not up to it this morning. I have boot camp tonight which is an hour of circuit training so that will make up for it but I still wish I would have done the video. I pushed myself yesterday to see how far I could jog in an hour. So far by best time was 5 miles in 58 min. (Have never made the full hour before.) Anyway last night I did the full hour and went 5.5 miles. At the pace I was going at it should have been closer to 6 miles but I really slowed down that last 1/2 mile. It is still really good considering I have only started really jogging in March. My weight was down to 180 but today is back up to 181. I am not counting today and sticking to the 180 which means I hit the 110 lb lost mark. I still think I will reach my Memorial day goal of 174 and make that move from obese to overweight. I can hardly wait.

Morning, all. No time to catch up on all the reading, but wanted to pop in and say anyway. I took Tuesday morning off from my Crossfit workout, trying to rest the sore shoulder muscles, which seemed to help, since yesterday's workout didn't kill me. Hoping to go in a little early today, to work on some skills practice before the real workout. I can climb the rope pretty well now, but am afraid to go more than a few feet up, until I learn how to come down properly (ie, without rope burning myself), so I want to work on my technique for descending the rope. I tried climbing the metal pole, lol, I could barely hold myself up, much less do any climbing, but it was fun to try.
Okay, I've got to let dogs out and get changed into my gym clothes, so I can hit the road.
Great day here. DH is still out of town so I left work a lil early to get in some cardio before picking up the boys. Had a great night with them and actually got the oldest to bed at 9pm...a small miracle these days! AND...he pp'd in the potty for me tonight. Two miracles!

Hey peeps, I met one of my Memorial Day Challenge goals! I wanted to get that 45 lbs overhead squat (OHS), and I got that, plus a couple at 50 lbs, yesterday. Woot! I'm not making a lot of measurable progress on my other two goals, because the crossfit workouts are keeping me too sore, but I am trying! If we get a break from shoulder abuse, hopefully I can make some gains on those goals this month. I'm really trying to hit those other two before the end of this challenge!
I got a new low on the scale again: 171.8 this morning. I think the diet is really dialed in now, and is doing it's job. I feel good, and the scale and looser pants say I'm losing some fat, finally!
Barb, glad the big boy is cooperating (sometimes, at least!). It has to get better at some point, I'm sure!
We've got a sunny day here, so I need to get off the computer. On the agenda today: work on the chicken coop construction (borrowed a circular saw, so hopefully things will move along a little faster on that project), try and get at least one of the mowers going, otherwise I'd better break out the weedwacker, as my yard is getting to jungle proportions! Skating tonight.
