How's everyone doing? We've gotten way too quiet around here. I know...I'm guilty too.
I'm working at home today so I have a lil more free time. I'm taking off the next two days! Yay...extra long weekend! Tomorrow I have a 90 minute massage scheduled and then I'm going to spend the day running errands and goofing off getting ready for company that is showing up tomorrow night for the weekend.
FINALLY!!!!!!! This morning I saw 231 on the scale for the first time since April 17th. Since then I've been stuck...I'm so ready for the 220s!!!!!! Bring 'em on!
Jammy....What's going on in the world of CF these days?
Well, I thought I would check in... My challenge has not gone the way I had hoped. Two days after posting and starting, I hurt my back and hip. I have barely been able to work let alone work out due to all the pain.
However I am finally starting to mend, and will slowly begin to ease back into my workouts.
Though things didn't work out this challenge, come Memorial Day I will still be at the opening of the pool for the season, and still look hot.
Besides, the summer is just starting. I still have plenty of time to stick to my plan and look even hotter in my bathing suit!

Hey peeps, I am checking in, too!
I haven't caught up on all the posts yet, but wanted to post an update:
Today I met another of my Memorial Day Challenge goals: 2 sets of 10 pull-ups with the blue assistance band! Not sure why, but it just finally "clicked" today, and I was able to string all 10 together without a miss.
The other big news for today is that I hit a new low, finally: 171.4. Not a big drop from the last one, but after 3 weeks, I was happy to see it. Here's hoping it keeps going down, so I can see the 169-something I want before the TOM bloat shows up again!
I've got some work to do around the yard now, before it's time to leave for skating, so I'd better get to it. Hope you all are keeping it OP and having success this week!

I got it this morning: 169.8! Woot! I'm sure it will take some time to get far enough into the 160s where I don't have to look at the 170s anymore, but it's still exciting to see a 169 on there!

Thanks, Amy and Lori! It sure helps me feel better about sticking to my eating plan, when the scale cooperates, too. Yesterday, I was coveting the 32" waist jeans at the Costco, but I'm still too scared to buy them. Lucky for me, I can't afford them right now, anyway, so by the time I can do that, they might even fit!
Workout is done, and I'm just taking a little R&R before I have to go out and weedwack the front yard. Hate weedwacking, as it kills my shoulders, but I guess it sorta counts as a workout, too, when it makes me that sore...right?
WOW!!! 32 inch waist would rock JAM~buy those jeans as soon as ya can ~I am sure you will be into them before you know it! Your doing awesome~you have lost Like 66 lbs! That is definetly a good reason to stick with your plan. Plus you gotta be in great athletic condition with all that exercise you do! I so brag about you to my hubby~(lol He is a good guy always listening to me blab on an on about how awesome ya'll are! hehehe)
AGAIN GIRL I AM SO DANG PROUD OF YA!
Here you deserve a flame! Your always handing them out so these are for you!: C-O-N-G-R-A-D-U-L-A-T-I-O-N-S on 160's!

Thanks for the Flameys, Lori! I'm not quite ready to buy them yet, but the 34" jeans are getting loose, so maybe another month or so, I might be ready for a new size. That will be awesome, except for the part where I have to buy clothes again...this is getting expensive. I might do better living in drawstring/elastic waist workout clothing till I find a size I can stick with.
Gotta get ready for the gym, but just wanted to pop in here and see how everbody is doing. We're very quiet this challenge.
I've got one Memorial Day Challenge Goal left to meet: the 2 sets of 10 push-ups. I'm going to start focusing on that one, but I've only got a few days left..eek! I guess our next challenge would be 4th of July, unless somebody has a better idea. That would give us about 5-1/2 weeks, but maybe a shorter challenge would be better, so it doesn't fizzle out.

Well, I tried to get the push-ups yesterday morning, but couldn't do ten in a row. I got 8 each set, then just ended up stuck on the floor, lol. I'll try again on Monday, one last time, and in the meantime, try not to kill my shoulders. Even if I don't get the full 10, I'm pretty happy with 8, since I started this challenge only being able to do 4 per set without getting stuck. That's progress, at least!
I'm debating whether to go to the gym this morning. The gym doesn't open till 930, and has one group workout at 10. But the sun is shining, I'm up early, the yard work is calling, and I might like to take off this afternoon and take my boy to the waterfront, if he's interested. (hard to tell with the almost-13-year-old...apparently, being a super-cool teenager requires a lot of not wanting to do anything you used to like to do when you were a kid...sounds like hard work to me, but that's how he rolls, lol)
I hope you are all having a wonderful weekend! We are having a pretty good time with friends visiting. Yesterday was a fun hang out, cook out type day. The weather has been beautiful. Today will be pretty relaxing. The boys' behavior yesterday was quite off....hoping to see improvements today because my patience is pretty much gone. I'll admit...there are moments when I can't wait until they are old enough to not want to be around me so I can get a few moments to myself. I know, I know...I will miss this then, but...geesh...two toddlers is exhuasting!
My Memorial Day goal did not turn out to be realistic after getting completely stuck for the past 6 weeks. I think July 4th sounds good for the next challenge.
Jam - Congrats on the progress you've made with your goals! That's awesome! You'll have those push ups soon! In the meantime...8 in a row rocks!!! I'm doing mine on the Smith Machine right now with the bar on the level 4 and I do 2 sets of 10. Can't wait to get strong enough to do them on the floor. I don't know what pull-ups with the assistance band are....do you have a pic or link you can show me? I use the assisted pull-up machine for mine.
SweetCurves - Good to see you popping in. Sorry to hear about the back/hip injury...thankfully youa re on the mend and can hopefully get back 100% very soon.
Lori - You are such a ray of sunshine. always so chipper. I hope you are having a wonderful weekend!
Good morning. Sorry I have not done so well at stopping by this thread this challenge. I did enjoy reading everyone's comments. I did comment at least once a week though.
I did not meet my goal this time around. I came close. I wanted to be at 174 but I am only down to 176 so no moving from obese to overweight yet. But I am okay with that. I did work out hard and ate well - except for the week that I was sick. I did hit a goal though. I ran 10k for the first time this week. Then 3 days later after 15 min of incline walking and an hour of circuit training class I still had energy so I went for a run. What was going to be a one or two mile run turned into 6. Funny though how I could make it 6 but not 6.2 to do another 10k.
Today I am working with my trainer who said he was going to give me a guy's upper body workout today. I am a little scared about what that means but I know I have gotten quite strong over the past year. Legs are stronger than the arms. I plan on running again after class - thinking that I will still have energy since we are only working arms and not legs or doing cardio.
Chele - hope you break that plateau soon.
Lori - finding a snake like that would really freak me out. (And I like snakes - just not wild ones)
SweetCurves - sorry about the injury. I hope you are back into things soon.
Jams - congrats on the pull ups and the weight loss 160's WooHoo!!!
I am looking forward to the 4th of July challenge.
