Just would like to add~WOW~We have lost alot of weight if ya add it together~barb~And Lori bell Over 100 lbs each! (sorry if I missed someone who lost that much!)
I can not wait to get to 100 lbs lost~you both gotta feel awesome!
Can I share a proud moment? Last night I went out after work with friends to happy hour/dinner. Everyone was ordering tropical (HIGH calorie) drinks. I sipped happily all night on my iced tea! Dinner was grilled chix w/ veggies and 1/2 the sweet potatoes they gave me. Some asked me "can't you drink alcohol on your diet?" My response was "I'm not on a diet, I can eat and drink anything I want, I simply choose not to do so".
The reward for that???? My "official" Friday weigh-in showed 3.4 pounds gone this week for a new total of 109. It's actually 120 off the highest weight that I reached about 2 years ago.
I did give myself a rest day yesterday (Yes, Jam...believe it or not). I won't be surprised if I go back up a pound or two, but that's ok. I am starting to understand my body and I know that's what happens after my hard workouts.
Lori - You are a doll. Thanks! I've survived so far....I guess I can survive until they are 5. Last night I was determined that my oldest son would sleep in his own bed all night....he woke up every hour and I just keep soothing him back to sleep. I wasn't happy about it at all, but I did my best. At 5am I gave up when he crawled into my bed. Baby steps!
Jam - Thanks for the new link. It's so cool that there are so many video resources out there. I've got to look for some deadlift ones. My trainer gave up on my deadlifts for a while and just turned them into bw squats cause I couldn't get the feel for the move, but he's bringing them back now. I want to perfect them. I like to get things right!!! Great workout! You rock!
Opps...gotta do some work and run to an appt and a working lunch. Later gals...

Vouge09, welcome to the challenge!
Barb, the hardest part of deadlifts for me was keeping my back tight. It's like, if you reach back and put one hand (on your back) at the bottom of your rib cage, and one hand at the tailbone, what you want to try and do is to shorten the distance between your hands, really squeeze that tight, and same as a squat, think about turning the pelvis over hard (like sticking your butt out). At first, like last month, I didn't even feel like I could control those muscles at all, like I was willing, but nothing was happening! But, lots of practice with the bodyweight squats really helped me get a better 'connection' to those muscles and get some control. Those, overhead squats with the pvc, and just practicing and getting coaching on the deadlift form, it's really helped me. We did deadlifts this past week, and I was able to lift heavier with WAY better form this time! Pretty good progress in only a month, so don't give up on them! And, if it makes you feel more hopeful, my boy was the devil at 3, and by 4, he was back to normal.
Chubs, woot! I saw you came back, but have been too wiped out to do personal replies before today.
Lori, I wish! lol. I do have a respectable amount of muscle going on this year, and can almost see my shoulder muscles...woot! However, I still am carrying I don't know how much excess fat, I'm guessing 25+ lbs, so I am trying to get my diet figured out to make that stuff go away! I just want to keep losing till I get rid of the stomach pooch, KWIM? Other than that, I'm okay with the weight I am now, but apparently you have to go ALL the way to get the flat stomach, or I do, at least!
Okay, can't see any more posts, so if I missed somebody, I'll catch you on the next round. Keep it on plan with the food, and make those workouts count, chickies!
Oh, forgot my report, I have news on my pull-up goal progress! Today another lady at my gym who started out heavier and was a newb last year, offered to help me with my pull-ups today. She watched me and said I should try an even smaller band than the one I was using, so I went to the BLUE assistance band, and it totally worked!! I could only do about 2 in a row, because my timing and coordination need some work, but I did pull-ups with the little blue band today! So, I'll have to adjust my MD goal to say "2 sets of 10 with the BLUE band". I also ripped some skin off my hand, another crossfit "badge of honor", very exciting! One of the guys superglued the skin back in place for me. That stuff stings and feels like it's burning a hole through your hand, but it worked. Whimper. lol. Also, I tried the rope climb, but couldn't get the hang of sliding my legs up over the rope and re-gripping. I was able to lock it between my feet and push/pull myself up, so if I get the sliding bit, I think I can at least climb the rope partway up...we shall see! Anyway, big day of progress on my pull-up goal for this challenge!
I just wanted to let you know that I am still here. I have a pinched nerve in my neck caused by a bone spur. LOT'S OF PAIN! I can't exercise!!!! I am still eating OP.
I am trying Physical Therapy and if that doesn't work I have to have surgery.
I am a little frustrated that the time I finally start getting healthy...this gets in my way. I won't complain too much...I know people have it worse than I.
I am down to 200 ...knocking at that ONEderland door. When I feel better..I will catch up on the posts and figure out what I lost for the CC Easter challenge.
I do want to be a part of this one! I will be back.
Can someone do some exercising for me? I miss it so much! I am trying to get in as much walking at work as I can but it is just not the same. For the pain I am on vicodin and it hardly touches it.
I'm so excited....for a long time I've been saying I want to take up biking this spring/summer. Today was such a gorgeous day that I took off work a little early and hit a bike shop to test drive. I'm the proud owner of a new bike and can't wait to get out on it.
WOW BARB~A BIKE~I AM SO PROUD OF YOU!!!
Oh By the way 109 Lbs was totally what I needed to lose for my goal SO I AM PROUD OF YOU FOR THAT ALSO!!! You make me feel like I can do it!
I am nearly halfway there NEARLY LOL!
I have done the bed stuff also! hahaha
They always ended up back in with me and the hubby.
But they will eventually sleep in there own bed.
Don't give up.
Way to go on the drinking tea ect.
You got it together!
Jam~I never even knew we had shoulder muscles LOL!!!(which reminds me of what my dad use to say to me when He was still alive when I would say something silly~He would say"If your brain was in a humming bird you would suck a mules Butt for a sunflower" LOL~He was a goofy funny guy~He always said that when I had a "BLONDE" Moment which I just had~trying to feel and see and think if we had shoulder muscles hahaha.(that was not to you Jam~It was totally about me!)
I gotta do more exercising~I am so outta shape~But my legs are starting to look great from the walking! SORTA
Hattie~Hope you get better~I will walk 10 more minutes for you tonight.
I will do it everynight until you are better!!
I am a 1/2 a pound from reaching 50 lbs lost ~which was my easter goal But I didn't reach it~So I am excited about that!

Lori, I knew what you were saying, lol! No worries!
Hattie, sorry to hear about the bone spur. My sister had those in both shoulders, and ended up getting the surgery. A PITA, but she's all healed up now and feeling good as new!
Barb, congrats on the new bike!
Well, just got back from skating. Only got 2 hours in...crappy DJ at the rink tonight, so just couldn't stay motivated to keep on for the last hour. Not a stellar workout, but I went through the motions for 2 hours, so that has to count for something!
Off to bed now. Workout in the morning at the crossfit gym, then am going to attempt (yet again) to get my van running, if I can find the part I need. Hopefully the weather will be halfway decent!
Well, I have been really busy this week and have not checked in for a while. This week was not OP. I overate a lot of days due to going out. Really the only day I really went way over was Wed when my brother came home. We had a family get together at my dads where we had italian food for dinner (a weakness of mine) and I overate. There were really no healthy low cal dishes to choose from. Also that means that my workouts have been almost none this week. I only made it to the gym twice to do my workouts with the trainer but that means almost no cardio. I really missed it this week. I did do the 30DS 3 days so I did get some workouts done. I am really looking forward to jogging this morning. I did gain a lb to be back up to 185 so all in all that is not too bad. Things will be back to normal again this week and I am looking forward to that.
Barb - good job on opting for the tea. I am lucky that I don't drink anyways so I don't have to worry about that temptation or the calories. Usually I will get tea or water when going out and everyone is used to that already so I usually don't get questioned on it anymore. Congrats on the new bike.
Jam - I am always inspired by you. You always do such a great job. Don't worry about only skating for 2 hours. I know your crossfit will make up for it
Lori - so close at the 50 lbs lost. I hope you hit that goal soon.
Hattie - ouch. Sorry to hear about the bone spur. Hope it gets better soon. Sounds like a ton of pain.
Hi to everyone else. I am off to the gym now - got a lot to do again today and want to make sure I get the gym done early.
Jam~It was another "BLONDE" Moment for me hahaha Oakeyson~I hope so too~I am gonna weigh again tommorrow or monday.
So hopefully I will reach it by then.

Morning, peeps!
Jorie, thanks! I'm addicted to crossfit and skating, that's all! I try to stick with exercise that is fun for me to do, since it keeps me going back for more. I'm not big in the willpower department, so I just figure how to make it fun or easy, with exercise, diet, water, whatever. This is what works for me right now. Don't sweat the family dinner...sounds like you had a great time, and you don't do that often...you've got to keep living your life, too. Plus, it usually makes you feel so crappy the next day, it's a relief to get back on plan with the food...at least it is for me!
Lori, hope you hit the 50 lbs mark on your next weigh-in!
I got my old van running yesterday...woot! It's been months, but I finally tracked down the part I was looking for, and it is running great (well, great for the old van, anyway! lol)
Rest day for me today, since the CF gym is closed. I'm going to spend it catching up on some housecleaning and will hopefully get some projects done outside, since it's sunny and warmish today. Top of the project list: hobble together a chicken tractor (portable grazing cage) so I can kick the baby chickens out of my laundry room! They have all their feathers now, and are getting a bit too big and messy to stay in the house any longer.
I got my propane grill back from my sister's house yesterday. It needs cleaning, so I might fire it up today and fix lunch on the grill!
Some asked me "can't you drink alcohol on your diet?" My response was "I'm not on a diet, I can eat and drink anything I want, I simply choose not to do so".
What a great reply, I'll have to remember that one! It's become really hard for me lately to explain to people that I'm not on a diet... this is just how I live now.
Congrats on the big number this week! As for me, I'm thisclose to my original goal of 150. I weighed in at a hair over 151 this morning, though I'm going to wait until I get that number at least another day or two consecutively before changing my ticker...
