Hello CC Gals!

I was able to watch the videos with my Windows media player and I guess my uber-internet. :p Wow....I can't wait to be able to do workouts like that!!! I love learning about all the different stuff out there. Right now I do what my trainer wants me to do because I work with him 3 days a week, but I'm learning a ton and will eventually branch out a little more. ***Oh My...I just watched the one with the girls on the balls/rings... Holy Buckets...

FB - Did you take the bike ride today? Or maybe that was tomorrow... I want to eventually get biking and swimming into my life. I just have to work on figuring out my life balance...eventually. :dizzy:

Neesy - Welcome to the CC challenge. You can totally rock those 10 pounds by Vday! :)

SweetS - Yep...those "just one bites" can be killers! Flirty food! Hahaha :D

I'm half asleep typing...I think I'm going to bag on this and hit the sack....I hope you are all having a great night! Any fun and exciting plans for the weekend?

Laters...

First weigh in since this challenge started, and I'm down 4.8lb! WTF? I got on and off the scales 3 times to check and each time was the same.

I've been stuck on 193 for a couple of months now, and today I'm 188.2. Sweet! It's TOM, but usually that doesn't really make a difference for me. I've just been hitting the road more often - even went for a run yesterday morning after I finished a 12 hour night duty!

We pretty much have the same goals! I'm doing 1200-1600 calorie cycling, 6 days/ week exercise, & I packed up the scales until January 31st.

Best of luck to you!

Thanks Shauna! I did OK today, was pretty much OP but did go over calories tonight by about 100 :o and I have not worked out yet. But I'm going to go do that right... NOW! :)

PS YOU ROCK PRIMM!! Way to go!

Happy weekend challenge sweethearts:val1:

I'm so happy to read that things are going well for so much of you.

jamsk8r, I really appreciate your support. I'm all alone on this diet thing, and it really means a lot to me to have support from you and the rest of the 3FC online community. It really is helping me to stay motivated, and when I read of all the good things that you guys are doing, I think, "hey, I can do it too!!":broc:

Coincidentally carcar, I went under my goal calories today by 100. So we even out! If only...

Today as a good day. Not great, but good. I stayed OP with the food, but I actually only had 1100 calories (and probably even more because I ere on the side of caution and tend to overestimate calorie info for each food). Also, I was really really lazy today (I never left my apartment building all day, and barely left my room!), and I kept postponing my workout hour-by-hour. I finally got it done at midnight, which is really not OP, since I'm going to a 9:30 spin class tomorrow morning. But all-in-all I did do what I was supposed to, so I'm satisfied!.

All of this weight loss, and exercise, everyone is doing great.

I am so HAPPY to say that I finally made it out of the 180's and into the 170's
it may only be 179, but heh it is still the 170's. This really excited me this morning.:D

Keep up the great work everyone.

Here is some more:dust:for all of us.

FB, I love love deadlifts. They are one of my fav leg exercises, along with walking lunges, single leg presses and squats and jump split lunges. There are a few variations of the deadlifts, are you happy with your trainer apart from that? Congrats too on your WL, we're the same height I think and you are near my goal. :)

Awesome, great work! I'm down 2 pounds, but may have snuck a few too many cheats in.

I'd like to join the party a little late, and after satiating my palette with a slice of birthday cake for breakfast! (Ugh, off to a bad start, as usual).

I have a little over a month, and I weigh 156 right now, so by V-day I would love love LOVE to be back in the 140's. Even seeing 149/148 would be a beautiful thing, as I have been maintaining my current weight for about 6 months.

I already exercise everyday with yoga, but as tough as it is, it ain't exactly cardio. I love it and I don't want to give it up, but should I add in some cardio on top of the yoga? Man, I hate sweating. ;( Hehe.

Good luck, gals.

Hey CC Challenge chicks!!
5 weeks left-- I'm in! :)

Eiluj 01-10-2009 09:57 AM

I had a stomach ache last night, so I am WHINY this morning. Whine whine whine!

But still, six pounds gone. And if I never see them again it will be too soon!

Chele615 01-10-2009 11:56 AM

Last week when I weighed in, I had gone up a couple tenths of a pound to 205.8. Then, I weighed in this morning and (while in the middle of my TOM), am down 1.4 pounds to 204.4!!! It would be nice if it went down even more after my TOM was completely gone as well ;)

I can see myself getting closer and closer to onederland and I'm getting more and more excited about it!!! haha

Heya River -
Apart from that, yes - I am happy with my trainer. There is nothing else she's flat out refused to do for/with me. In addition, we've become great friends throughout our training time (she's also my neighbor) and there is no longer any money exchanged. She's been training for years - I'd suppose the Vic Tanny days were her glory days. Initially she started training me with light weights, ack. I told her to train me like a man, heavy weights/shorter reps and while she's never done that with female clients she happily did for me. We've butted heads over deadlifting for months and months now though.

I belong to other gyms and may ask to use my 'complimentary' training session that came with the memberships to learn deadlifting if you and others do believe it's worthwhile. I've never used those complimentary sessions because I hate high pressure sales techniques used by trainers at chain gyms.

My only concern is that with my back pain - am I really going to make it worse? I'd give it a go on my own but really worry that there's something valid in their concerns for my back. My trainer and her husband (the gym owner) are both of the old school. He's more of a bodybuilder who competes in contests than a functional strength bodybuilder. I'm sure I could kick his butt.

Thanks for the congrats. :) It's unreal to me, the weight loss I've had so far and the fact that I'm near someone's goal. MY GAWD!

I would love to join your Valentine's Day challenge. I weigh 212 today and would love to get under 200 pounds by Valentines Day. I haven't weighed 199 for about five years! That would be the greatest V-day ever. I've been trying to keep it around 1500 calories a day. I started last week at 215 so something is happening. Good luck to everyone!

retiredone 01-10-2009 01:05 PM

Hi, ho. Five pounds of Christmas indulgence has gone away (again). I was so happy to see 5 pounds gone this morning. It's all that on plan eating. Now if I could get back in the swing of exercising. It's been hit and miss this past two weeks. This is a great time of the year to lose weight. Everyone seems to be breaking barriers or at least coming down some.

Hi FB, I'm a certified trainer although I no longer work in the industry. A few friends and family jump on when I'm headed to the gym because I'm a bit of an animal when I go. Mostly I'm training at home by myself because I'm fully equipped here. Now when I go to the gym it's usually to help someone out who requires a push, but I love it when I get there. I'm sure someday I'll break away from the desk that binds and work in the fitness industry again, because I truly love it.

About the deads, yes they are worthwhile, and if you want to try them, it sounds like you will need a professional to help you with it. That way you will be sure not to aggrevate your back problems (I can relate to that BTW). Form is important which I'm sure you understand since you have been training for a while. For your complimentary sessions, I wouldn't just go to any trainer though. Ask around to see who is respected, and then keep an eye on the trainer as they work with other clients to be sure they are someone you will want to work with, even if it's only for a session or two.

Injuries suck, and it may not be worth it until your back is really stable and pain free.:)
