My goal was 5 pounds, and I'm down 3.5. I thought I might be underachieving with that goal since I'm just getting started out and I usually lose in a hurry at first, but I didn't want to be disappointed in my first challenge back, either.
I'm going to add another 5 pounds to my challenge and go for 10. Eek! |

well, my aim is for 1500 really but i thought as long as i have more than 1200 i could have a bit of wiggle room there. I read that you shouldnt have less than 1200 so thats why i set a lower limit. 7lbs might be too much to lose in 5 weeks, but i was hoping the challenge would give me a kick up the arse :). If i dont lose that much it doesnt matter but i have somewhere to aim now.
Any advice would be appreciated! |
Hey Brat! Way to go responding! You're very friendly! Thanks for the info on green tea.
I am going out to eat soon with a friend but already scoped out the menu and nutrition factors so I know what I will order. THEN I will go for my 30 mins of walking out in the snow and slush. blah. :exercise: Any of you guys get to have sunshine year round? Eiluj - Good for you adding to your goal! At this rate you'll make it in time for Valentine's Day! Have a great Wednesday everyone! :D |
Brat- 30DS is Jillian's 30 Day Shred workout DVD! :) I am just to lazy to type all that out!! :D
|
Angel, that Team Faerie pic is so cool! What is TF? Also, can you tell more about what's in the 30DS workout? I've heard it's badazz, but have no idea what's in it as far as exercises or other goodies.
HM, glad you could make it! I don't know for sure, but I agree with the Brat..it's green tea, what could it do to water that would prevent it doing what water does? Fat Pants, WTG on the cardio! You don't have to start out being a workout fiend. When I started, about 3 days a week of 30 mins kept the pounds coming off. Now, I've got to work harder for it. On the plus side, feeling strong and getting fit is addicting, especially if you can find workouts you enjoy. Umberto, sounds like you've got the right idea. Start as high as you can while still losing, then you have room to drop it later if you get stuck. Eiluj, way to raise the bar! You are doing great on this challenge so far! :carrot: Brat! I see you trying to wiggle out of giving us an update! How are you doing with the water and the rest of your plan? If you need a :kickbutt: just let me know. I'm here for ya! Crossfit is some mental workouts. You should google the website. As for me, the workout did the trick, took that 2 pound bloat off like it was nothin'! I even got an extra 0.4 drop from where I was on Saturday. Down to 182.0 this morning! I feel the 170s coming on! For my workout today, I am thinking that I will run outside, and tackle my fear of hill running. Running on the flat doesn't do much for me these days, as far as burning the cals, but maybe a longer run with some hills will do something. I need to see where I'm at so I can make a training plan for my 12K goal this summer. |
Hey girls
I made it to day seven.I am not even hungry anymore,I almost have to remind myself to eat.I think that I am going to take a break from exercise today,I am pretty sore from the last 2 days.Maybe I should exercise every other day.I wish that it wasn't so cold I would walk outside. Keep up the good work everyone.:carrot: |
Jam- It is for the 20 somethings biggest loser challenge! I really like the 30DS, it is only 20 mins, which is short but its non stop moving. It is broken up into sections, 3 mins of strength, 2 mins of cardio and 1 min of abs. You repeat the circuits 3 times and then have a cool down. There are 3 levels and they get harder each level you go up. I really like it, I should be adding some more cardio on but right now just getting that done everday is an accomplishment for me!!
Check this out, it will show you more than I can explain!! :) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fuJcM93v9AY |
Fat Pants, I love your username. It's making me smile each time I read it.
My sinuses were killer Monday, better yesterday, and now back to being killer. My head feels like it's going to pop. There's a tiny voice inside my head, like The Fly, saying "Help meeeeeee!" :D I'm a little afraid of a workout regimen called a shred. Ow. :D chubbyphotographer, I never know quite what to do when I have a day where I'm not getting enough calories. Are you planning to just leave it alone or "force" yourself to eat more? |
I want to stay at least try to eat a little every hour or two. Before I started this on the 1st. I would eat like twice a day,I think that it was slowing down my meatbolism.I try to stay at about 1700-1800 calories right now.I work overnight too so that doesn't help my eating pattern very much. What ever I am doing is working, when I weighed myself this morning I was down 8 pounds since the first.I don't really feel starved,I get hungry once in a while but it isn't horrible.

OK, I know I am late getting in on this challenge. I guess I was so busy that I didn't notice it. Well seems I made a realistic goal for New Years, and I was able to reach it, I think I will make sure that I make a realistic goal here also. So here goes. My challenge is going to be......... 175. I want to say 170, but I feel more comfortable with 175, and if I make 170, that's all the better. I also want to challenge myself to drinking more water, as for some reason I have been having a problem with that lately, and I never used to.
Jamsk8r I love your new avatar, you are looking great! Everyone else, good luck with your goals and keep up the great work. Here is some :dust: for all of us. Wilma |
Chubs, you've got it right! Eating smaller amounts every 2-3 hrs really helps, or it does for me. Congratulations on the 8 lbs! :carrot:
Angel, thanks for the link. Here, I was imagining some type of bootcamp setting out in the middle of nowhere, lol. Wilma! Yeah, you were sleepin' on the job, there, but it's really never too late to join one of these challenges. Shoot, I'm just here for the :blah: :blah:. |
Today was a good day...
I stayed on point with my pre-prepped meals... although right now I'm famished, so I'm tempted to go have a boiled egg, which would only put me 23 calories overboard, but up to 194% of my daily recommended cholesterol intake! But I'm sooo hungry! No exercise today... but Wednesday is my official 'rest day,' so even though I've only started exercising since monday, I said what the ****! Things seem to be going good for quite a few of you guys, so cheers for that:cp: And welcome to all the new joiners!!!:wel3fc: Happy to see so many of us taking a stand to improve our health. YAY US!:carrot: And for tomorrow: :dust: |

The trouble here is the heat. If I'm not up and running by 6am, it's too hot to go. Hits 30oC (86 F) by about 7am and then gets hotter during the day, not cooling down until midnight or so. Some days I think I'd love a bit of cold weather. At least you can put more clothes on to warm up - there's a limit to how much I can strip down! I'm just waiting to get my abdomen down to an acceptable size, so I can run in shorts and a crop top. The breeze on my skin will hopefully make a difference. |
Hey peeps. Coudn't get to sleep yet, so I thought I'd check in. I wanted to work abs pretty hard today, so I decided to do some crossfit skills practice for my workout, shoulders and abs torture, then finished it off with some box jumps and 20 mins of running. It was a good workout, about an hour and a half, and I was toast! :faint: Staying OP with the food and water, too. Here's hoping it shows up on the scale!
Shauna, great idea with the pre-assembled meals. Seems like you're doing great staying OP! :carrot: Ruth, you're smack in the middle of summer, right? Is it just always warm there, even in winter? We're getting rain and flooding here, cold, windy, and some road closures due to flooding, then they had to evac some folks that live along the Puyallup River. Has me a little stir crazy, since there isn't much we can do outside, so the boy and I watched 2 movies tonight, just trying to pass the time. |
