Canadianwoman ~ Give it a try with 1600 calories. See how you feel and see if you have a loss. There is no exact science behind calories and everyone is different. I have the slider plan of Richard Simmons. I might pull it out and give it a try again.

I used to be a big meal skipper. I could go all day without eating and then eat a days worth of food for dinner. Yep, paid off too. I was up to 245 before I stopped doing that. Now, I don't miss a meal unless I have to. LOL! I am also smallest I have been since High School.

First day of classes so I can't stay long.

Well I blew it this weekend but I am OK with that. Like I was telling dgramie, I ate way to much zucchini bread but I made a promise to myself I am not making anymore. I just simply can't resist it and neither can DH. Even my GS as hogging it down and he is a picky eater. DH said not to make anymore and I agree. We have the recipe perfected and written down so I can make it when ever.

As if that wasn't bad enough DH decided he wanted Fillet Mignon for dinner last night. We bought it at Super Walmart and thought what an unbelievable price. Yep, was super tender but it was so salty that it tasted like bacon or a pork product not beef. DH wouldn't even cook the last two.

Even with my blunders I am down a pound from last Monday. So hopefully this week will go better but we will be traveling. I am winging it because my best laid plans always get destroyed and then I get upset. Just like wanting to be down in the 150's this week. If I just wing things, roll with the punches and not sweat it I do better than if I plan. Can't explain why but that is how it works for me.

Well I have to get going for now and I will check back later.

Hello Ladies!

I'm back. We finally got our internet hooked up. It took awhile. We are renting a cute-but-old house and the wiring was causing problems. We had to have someone come out and fix it before DSL would work. Thankfully, since it was minor the guy didn't charge us the "inside" fee.

The move went well and we are mostly unpacked. We got rid of a lot of furniture, so we could fit everything in a 16-foot truck. So, now we're at the point where we need more furniture so we have places to put stuff.

Oh and um, I've discovered a new love in NM, GREEN CHILE! Omg! I'd heard people talk about it, but wow, it's incredibly yummy! I even put some in my tuna noodle casserole instead of peas the other night. Good thing it's a veg and not something fattening.

Speaking of fattening, I'm hovering around 158. The move was stressful and we ate out so much, so back on the wagon I go. It's going to be hard since I'm doing nothing these days until I find work, but hopefully I find something soon. I have a typing test scheduled on Thursday for a job application I put in with the city.

Irish~ Sorry to hear about your loss! Regardless of how long a person lives, it still sucks when they are gone. It is comforting to know they had a long life though.

Tinky~ How's married life treating you?

Grammy~ Your grandson is a cutiepie and that picture is hysterical!

Hey, question for all you cat owners. Right before we moved, our cat had a patch of hair missing on her front leg. The vet did a culture for ringworm (which came back negative) and the hair grew back quickly. Now she has a patch of hair missing around one of her nipples. I plan on taking her to the vet if it doesn't grow back by the time DH gets paid, but what do you think? There's no redness and it's not tender. She's a 7yo Calico. Any thoughts?

Bad day of eating here..No more sunflower seeds for me. I think them being salty set my craving into action...or maybe it was just one of those days.
Back on the wagon right now..trying to get in all my water to help flush all the bad stuff out. Why do we do this?????

Hey guys, been eating like a mad woman! I went to a Bridal Shower yesterday so I ate too! Today I am eating mostly fruits and veggies to help clean my system and give it a much deserved rest. I don't have too much time this morning to write more, but will be back later to do a little more personals. LOL! Have a great morning!

That, my dear is The Sixty-Four Thousand Dollar Question. If you find the answer, do tell, won't you?

Mmmm... Sunflower seeds... Love them. But, they are calorically dense little things and I can't stop at just a few. So, I stay away from them.

So, yesterday was a good, on track day. My calories topped out at a low 910. I didn't have much around the house and I wasn't that hungry. I will do better, today.

Ok, so now I have a bit of time to address people....LOL!

Ready- 9.5 lbs ? That's awesome! You're doing well! And your running is great! Keep up the great work!!!!! You're rocking along!

Irish- Sorry to hear about your Nana, but what a life to live almost 100 years old! But I can't help but be so happy for you to get into 11/13s how wonderful!!! You go girl!!! I knew you would be good! See, that means even though you didn't show on the scale you made up for it with inches lost!

Dgramie- That's exactly why I don't eat sunflower seeds that are flavored or salted. They set other triggers on me!!

GrammyL- Krispy Kreme called me all weekend, and I answered their call. I ate so much this weekend, all thanks to TOM, he's evil! LOL! He set my salt and sugar craving on HIGH! so yeah, I am just going to go with the flow, but the week or two before I leave I will get back on plan to lose the water weight. or more. (sigh) too many things to deal with right now. LOL!

Zenor- I knew the green chile bug would bite you in the booty! It's crazy addictive. You are going to find out that they put it everything. Pizzas, bagels, croissants, burgers, icecream. LOL! What part of ABQ are you in? I lived in the NE Heights. I hope you love it there though. I do miss it. If you need anything or want to know anything holler!!!
Married life is treating me fine!! We're still in on Cloud 9. But we usualy get along. But I love it, the part that is getting to me is getting used to calling him my husband! LOL!

Rain- Cheese popcorn sounds so good!!! LOL! I could eat bags and bags of it too!

So yeah I have TOM visiting me. I am trying to be nice but it's mostly the hormones speaking to me or at everyone else! Other than that I am still trucking along, not so much on plan but in life. Well trying that is.

The funny thing is that I'm already putting it in everything at home! I guess I'm embracing New Mexico. Lol. We live in the Nob Hill area. It's been cleaned up in recent years and is now the "trendy" part of town (at least this is what we've been told.) We like it because we can walk to stores and restaurants, plus DH can walk to work at UNM.

I'm glad to hear marriage is treating you well! It'll just keep getting better!

Hey all,
well this is my first day officially back on the wagon. yeaterday was my 2 year anniversary and we went out to dinner at a buffet :0. so with my 2 weeks off and now TOM I am 174.4. Today I ate all-bran bites for breakfast. trying to up my fiber a bit. I did 20 min turbo jam and plan on doing at least 20 more this afternoon. I have my nanas "funeral" tomorrow. She didn't want a service so we are going to the cemetary saying a few words and putting her urn in the grave with my Papa. then we are doing a dinner or drinks or something. My nana was a hard woman to get along with and through the years there were alot of hard feelings and fights. By the time I was old enough she had clamed down a bit and had quit drinking so I saw the good side of my nana and I am glad I got to. she still had an irish temper but I don't remember it ever being aimed at me. my mom phoned me yesterday to tell me she put aside the necklace of nanas I wanted. (my cousin, sister and I each get one) my mom also said she secretly put aside an extra charm for me because it was an irish clover and I am so interested in my irish heritage and love celtic and irish things so it was really nice of her to do that.

On a happier note I am actually beginning to get used to my less fat face and enjoy looking in the mirror lol. for the first time since I was 12 I have allowed my hair to be blond for more then a month and I no longer think it makes me look fat I always figured black hair made my face look thinner now I am enjoying my blonde hair. I am dressing more like a girl/woman now instead of in boys clothes, concert t-shirts, huge mens zip up sweaters etc. all the pants I bought at the ex were dress pants (pin stripe, plaid) all the tops were womans dressy tops and I only bought one zip up and its womens white and gold. I went through my drawers and began to toss my clothes that were WAY to big on me now. I have a nightmare before christmas shirt I am thinking of turning into a pillow becuase I love it but its way to big and looks ridiculous on me. anyways my self esteem about how I look is definitly improving I hope all of you are feeling the same way about yourselves

Zenor- Nob Hill is great, I loved it even when i lived there. There is such an eclectic mix of people there. Yeah it wasn't always great, but I knew it would be trendy because UNM is so close by. I still order green chile from NM but shipping cost is atrocious! Well I don't know why I am recommending this, but you guys gotta go to Gardunos for the novelty. I loved it, even with other places around, but just going to Gardunos makes it seem like you're really living there. I miss seeing the Sandia Mountains too....what a few. You guys are just in time for the Balloon Fiesta too, and oh the State Fair hasn't started yet has it? So many things to see and do!

I bought my first Happy Birthday Husband card the other day, now I feel really married. LOL J/k!

Irish-I do know what you mean by the self esteem thing, it's been boosted dramtically, but not this week. LOL! Yeah it's funny you say that, because my girlfriends at work all start TOM the same time as I do. Scary!!! I mean I am scared for the people that get in our way.

I plan on really cracking down to work off the bloat this weekend....we have a wedding to go to, and I refuse to wear my dress if I have too much bloatage. LOL!

Irish~ Thanks! It's sounds like you're jumping right back on "the wagon". Good job! That's really sweet that your Mom did that! I'm really into my Scottish and French heritage, but my sister is always, "We're German, not French and Scottish." We are all three (plus some), but she never listened when Dad would talk about genealogy. Lol.

Tinky~ Yup. Fiesta is the end of next month (I think) and the fair starts in a couple weeks. This weekend we are going to the Bernalillo Wine Festival. They have a train that goes there from downtown. How long ago were you here? Were they building the Roadrunner train at that point? By winter it's suppose to go all the way to Santa Fe (and only $5 roundtrip.)

dgramie~ This is probably not helpful, but I use sunflower seeds in cookies instead of nuts. That way those who are allergic can still eat them. Also, I bet they'd make a yummy "nut" butter if you processed them with a tad bit of canola oil. Not the most low cal, but maybe in that form you wouldn't be as tempted? 42 cups is alot, so sending some with your son sounds like a great plan too.

CoolMom~ You've lost 50 lbs! Awesome! I love seeing "old friendly" faces on here! How's the baby? Or is he a toddler now?

Well, the scale read 156 this morning. I'm going to wait before I change my stats though. It's been really hard to keep my calories low this time around. I want to eat everything! I've read you need a few more calories at high altitude, but I haven't been doing anything, so I doubt that's my problem. I think it's boredom. I hope I find a job soon so I have something to do (isn't that sad.)
