Irishfairy,
I dont know where the post went, but I came across one regarding you cutting your hair, and I have to comment. I too, had let my hair grow for about a year and 1/2, it was the longest it had ever been..I cut it last summer after swearing I never would. Well, I let it grow for about another 6 months...which was as long as I could stand it..long story short, I love my hair short and I think I was keeping it long for my husband more than for myself to begin with. Most everyone, I know likes it short too. I think its a man thing. I think your hair looks really cute short, and girl it does not make us look like a boy. I think it takes a confident woman to wear her hair short. Short is in..and short is easy, sofisticated and sassy. Just my 2 cents.
I am having a mini breakdown!!!! why did I cut my hair!!! It took so long to grow and I just cut it off!!!! My husband says I look like a boy!!!!! my face looks HUGE and it makes my nose look big!!!!!! the week before idol to what was I thinking!!!!! well I promised the pics so here
The colors are bad a**!! Just spike it out all crazy like in the back and leave your bangs and some hair straight to frame your face. I always thought that looked cool

Irish~Your hair looks cute! You do not look like a boy! Jeesh! Hasn't your DH learned yet that comments like that will send women into hysterics? That's right up there with "Hon, that outfit makes your butt look big." Silly man! Lol. I think it looks great!
Edzard~Yeah, we just moved here last year and we might be staying, if DH gets the permanent position here. If not, well, then we move. We shall see, the waiting is driving me bonkers!
Grammy~I don't have any coordination either! I just make sure no one is home when I do the video. It's funny, I have to put the dog in the kitchen (behind the doggie gate) when I exercise because as soon as I'm on the floor he thinks it's play time.
hello, guys
this is my first post here in this thread, so I hope I'll do it right
today I ate a lot of food for lunch. now I'm so full, and I feel guilty. but weird thing is that I ate only 440 kcal and I feel guilty
It's so crazy because I think that, before I started calorie counting and actually watching what I eat, only time I felt full was when I overate, but this is so cool I have to get used to that, for the first time in my life, I'm eating as I am supposed to eat
btw.I wanted to eat 1800kcal/day for start, but my FitDay shows that this week kcal summary is 1609. It's so great and I feel happy with myself
and I look forward to getting to know you.
I used to be the same way. I have no idea how many calories I used to eat but I know it was a lot. I think when we calorie count we make sure that the food we are eating counts, as in its healthy and filling. We limit our empty calories that are not so filling.
Sounds like you both have a good plan worked out. I need to start being more faithful to walking and I restarted actually logging my calories and weight today. I was trying to wing it for the last couple of weeks and it was a mistake.
Elvislvr ~ I tried South Beach also. I bought the frozen meals and did the suggested snacks. I found that the meals tasted great but were pricey and high is sodium. I gave up and came back to calorie counting.
Lynne ~ That would be so hard working at KFC. I am also a stress eater and my weight is up with because of family issues but working to get it back. I am going to move my avi to where I am as of today which is really embarrassing but it happened.
Zenor ~ My dogs do the same thing. They get right under my feet and on the floor they drop toys on my head thinking I want to play. When I am stretching the one tries to lick me in the face. YUCK! His breath stinks like fish most of the time so its really nasty.
Had a wonderful weekend. We took GS to see the butterflies. He liked it for a little bit but then he was ready to get outside. So we walked the gardens even though nothing is up. Then he got to ride the horses this weekend. He was so funny because he was in the house and saw me get my horse out and sad, "Come on Papa, ride". Then he got on and when I was leading him he went "Yeha, Yeha". He is such a nut. We also got the kit out I bought him for Easter and he got to fly that, Papa did most of it. Then we got his bubbles out and we did bubbles. I bought him a bubble machine but he prefers the old fashioned way. He really loves the outdoors and unfortunately his Mom is a couch potato and hates the outdoors. I can just see him now sitting, looking out the window dreaming of getting outside.
Ok, one more funny thing GS did. We watch Wonder Pets and one of the big things the teach is team work, even have a song they sing every time. Well DH had give him a piece of cheese. He came out in the kitchen and wanted something and he kept saying team work, team work so I thought he wanted to watch Wonder Pets. No, he wanted me to help him get another piece of cheese. LOL! He is only 2, can he truly know what he was saying? Its kind of scary. He did lots of interesting, intelligent things beyond his years this weekend. That was just a couple of them. OK, enough bragging.
DIET: Now, on to what I didn't do this weekend and that is lose weight. I am way up so I have started logging and weighing again. I am just out of control and I know it. Today is a new day and I am going to log each thing that passes my lips.
DH is freaking out on this vegetarian thing. ARG! When I started I said that I would just be doing it during the week and a little meat on the weekend so that is what I am going to do. He finds me not eating meat threatening as in I am going to leave him. OH MY GOSH! I just don't get it but what ever. We had a long talk about it yesterday and I agreed to eat a little chicken, turkey and pork on the weekend with him but no beef. I just totally have no desire to eat beef because it taste like old hamburger to me now, even when its fresh. The pork we have was raised by an individual that doesn't do all the injections and such but its not tender at all.
Had a little jolt to reality yesterday. We were almost home and passing past a wooded area and a silly deer jumped right into the passenger side door where I was sitting. Thank goodness I had the window up because all I saw was the deers chest right beside my face. I could have counted the hairs. DH said if I would have still had the window cracked like I had just a mile back it would have busted the window and who knows what would have happened. The truck isn't even a year old. It broke the mirror, dented the front and back door and the deer walked away. I can't believe it tried to jump the truck, its 4 wheel drive and sits way up. Now I am going to be afraid to ride with the window down for a while.
Well I better go and get some of this work done and I will check back in a while.
Thanks for the welcome Grammy Your GS sounds very smart! Gah about the deer! Aren't they the most stupid creatures you've ever met? I hit a deer last year, 5.00 am driving to the gym rounding a bend on the highway and the stupid thing was stood right in the middle of the road. Well, my mazda came off better than the deer after almost $3000 worth of repair, thank god for insurance. I seriously have much hatred for deer now, if only they'd be smarter and get out of the way.
I had a great weekend eating, my best in weeks. I did have a small breakdown yesterday and opened a box of girl scout cookies that I found in the cupboard. Only ate 5 so that's good! They're snickerdoodles, blast them. They're also going in the garbage tonight.
I'm a little stressed right now too due to work issues and when I get stressed I tend to not look after myself very well, as in I don't go to the gym, don't eat right. I'm really trying to turn this around though. I might not be able to change the anxiety I have right now but I can do something about going to the gym and eating right and maybe if I do that, it will help the anxiety some? I don't know.
I work in the business office of our KFC franchise Grammy and if you step out of the door of my office, less than 75 yards away is one of our restaurants I'm doing pretty good staying away though.
Happy Monday everyone, hope you all have a good day.

Hey all! My weekend was alright. I had a mega migraine all day on Saturday. It started at 7:00 am and lasted to 9:00 p.m. Ugh! I think all the stress, drama, and my upcoming TOM got me all crazy. Today, I am kicking myself and telling myself to get back on it. I cannot stand to eat off track, not only do I feel bad after, but it's not helping my progress. I really don't want to see what the scale says. LOL!
Irish- Your hair is so cute hun! I love it. Don't let DH get to you. Men are crazy with their one track mind. Your outfit from what I can see looks good too.
GrammyL- I am much better. The organizer wasn't too bad. I really think it's just someone coming in and telling me how to do things was what got me. I just need to get reacquainted with my office. LOL I don't know where everything is. The drama has subsided. It was all a big miscommunication, like it usually was, but it drove me nuts. I play the neutral role here at work. I get along with everyone. So when someone has a cold shoulder towards me or has a beef (or chicken me, since you don't eat beef) LOL! J/k! with me, it's a big deal.
Grammy, you know DF was a bit angry towards me when I first started my journey of losing weight, he kept saying that I am no fun when it comes to eating. I also found out the underlying issue was he thought I was looking for better. I told him time and time again, it is for me. I want to live a long healthy life. I don't want to end like my dad who battled with alot of issues before he buckled down and lost 60 lbs. Aren't our men crazy, they think it's all about them? LOL I loved the stories on DGS! It made me smile this morning.
Edzard- hey I was wondering about you! I am so glad to see you here again. If you were here a month or 2 ago, we would of only been like 5 lbs of eachother. Atleast you found about the wheat, before it became a serious issue. My juice fast helped, it changed the way I eat. But as of late, I forgot what I learned.
Zenor- Ugh, the waiting game. I do hope that you get to stay here though, I hate moving. I hate the thought of packing everything up and moving again. I told DF if we need to move out of state, make sure it's something he really wants. LOL!
Lynne, Elvislvr, Oolong!!!!!!!
Like GrammyL I did the Southbeach, it was my first real diet. I couldn't stick to it. But I am glad to see you on here!!
Looking forward to getting to you guys more!!!
Lynne-Oh boy, I do know the world of stress eating. IT sucks, but you gotta get back on the horse!
Well have a great day everyone, I will be back to check up! Here's to a nicer, and hopefully less stressful week!
Hey edzard, how are ya? I saw from a previous post that you had to give up wheat -- possible celiac. I have some experience w/this (from my son). Here's some links that may help. http://www.celiacsonline.com/cookbooks_recipes.asphttp://www.gfcfdiet.com/recipes.htm http://www.celiac.com/catalog/produc...roducts_id=455
I cooked/baked GF for about 4 yrs. No, it is NOT the easiet thing but there are many, many excellent choices and options. Do you bake? If so, then you're aces. You can substitute wheat flour w/a combo of rice flour, potato starch flour and tapioca flour and using xanathan gum added in to bake. Check out books by Bette Hagman, she gives the right proportions for this mix. Some baked goods turn out nearly identical to their wheat counterparts; others are somewhat different in texture (which you get used to very quickly) and I always thought that when I baked w/the GF flours the food had a 'cleaner' taste. Keep in touch!
Thought I'd pop in here since I'm also a calorie counter. So far so good -- well, ok Sundays are my break days for exercise and I do go up to my maintenance level foodwise, except for yesterday. Don't EVER take your kids w/you to the grocery store and be nice and let them get candy. M&Ms and Reeses Pieces together are an absolutely lethal combination!!
Back on track - AND HOW!!! - today, sticking to 1400 or so. The candy is still there (gawd, along w/some Dove choc squares -- WTH was I thinking??? ). Ah well, I can't go around with a bag over my head for the rest of my life, now can I?
Good to meet you all. Irishfairy -- FWIW, when my daughter was around 11 or 12 she decided she wanted short hair. Her hair is long, THICK and very, very wavy. I told her not to go shorter than just below her shoulder because her hair curls up even shorter when it dries. She didn't listen and got it cut. When it dried it was at ear level, just awful. BUT, she made to the most of it by spiking it and putting cut clips in and doing all kinds of stuff to it. Everyone gets a haircut that they think w/be great only to discover that maybe they wished they hadn't!! Personally, I think your hair looks adorable and I agree w/another poster -- spike it out all over, maybe even cutting your bangs shorter and going full out w/it. I think you wear short hair very well. LOVE the color combo!!!!!
well first off WELCOME!!! lynne, Elvislvr, and Hattrick
secondly thanks everyone for the support I do like my hair I think the underlying problem was DH's reaction to it. I had a sit down with him and told him it hurt what he was saying and he apologized and said he likes it long but I don't look like a boy and it doesn't look bad. Everyone has their preferences I guess.
LynneA: KFC....one of my downfalls along with taco bell I avoid both at all costs now. They are both in the same restaurant here...bad combo lol
ElvisLvr: I think thats the same way with me my dh went on and on about how he loved long hair (my hair was shorter then this when I met him) and I think I did it for him subconciously. Also I wanted it long for my wedding I just didn't cut it after that.
Femme: I have been doing that with my hair I found lots of cute ways to do it also Headbands go so much better in my short hair and I love headbands
Grammy: aren't babys funny. My son makes me laugh so hard at the things he understands. a couple of examples he started a new thing where he puts my hands up to my face so I fkae cry then he pulls them off and hugs me better..and repeats lol. also the other day he kept turning my husbands head to min eand making us kiss then giving us each a kiss it was cute. TH sucks about the deer I am glad your ok also when I was a vegetarian my husband was so worried about my health he would get sooo mad at me. The problem is he was right I have trouble absorbing b12 from anything but meat so my hands started going so numb i couldn't move them...so I ahd to eat meat again.
Tinky: I hate migraines I get them during weather changes or temprature changes I also get them from diet products like diet coke. I find adivl liquid gels are my miracle workers also ginger root boiled in water is amazing too.
well I reached a mile stone today I am officially half way done my weight loss its such an awesome feeling. I have less then a week until idol and I am getting nervous/excited. I have already planned out how I am getting down, what I am bringing and checked the weather...bad news its supposed to rain and I am waiting in a line up outside for what could be 12 hours I redyed my roots so my hair looks bold and bright. I now have to pluck my eyebrows I have always got them waxed but don't have the money this week I ahve no idea how to pluck so this should be interesting!! I also want to paint my nails....so much to do!!!!!
Lynne ~ I can't have cookies in the house because I am a real cookie monster. There are certain kinds I don't even like but if they are in the house I will eat them.
This is the second time in my life that this happened and DH was quick to point this out. The first time was about 12 years ago and it ran into the side of our mini van right behind where I was sitting. The deer, walked away. About 6 months ago DH just clipped one in almost the same location, different truck. I heard it hit but DH said he didn't hit it but the evidence was stuck in the bumper, hair. LOL! I said I told you. That one was also on the passenger side. I think I am cursed and so is DH since he was driving every time.
My biggest down fall at KFC is the biscuits with honey on them. The chicken is good but always gives me an upset tummy because its greasy and I am not used to greasy foods.
Tinky ~ We must have the same personality. If I think someone doesn't like me or is mad at me I freak out. If they even look at me funny I wonder what I have done wrong. I have to remind myself all the time that it is not my job to constantly try to keep everyone happy or to be friends with everyone.
DH did the same thing with me when I decided to lose weight. He always thinks I am looking for bigger and better. I keep telling him that relationships are to time consuming and we have been together long enough that ours is just natural. We bicker like brother and sister but love each other way to much, we even argue who loves each other more. LOL! We have been together for 19 years with a 1 year break in there. It was him who was looking for better not me. He found out the grass wasn't greener on the other side of the fence.
By the way, I will drink some water to that to toast.
Hat Trick ~ My hair is the same way as your DD's. It can be tricky getting a hair cut. Usually they start cutting and say how beautiful it is and the next think I know I don't have any hair left. LOL! Now its cut short and its easier to manage.
Candy has become my second big weakness right behind the cookies. If I see it or even glance at it in the grocery store it jumps off the shelf and into the cart. The next thing I know its glued to my rear. LOL! DH, bless his heart, just had to buy me a candy bar this weekend.
I forgot I have to put where I really am. See those two weeks really killed me. I gain 5 lbs, don't think I am safe listening to my mouth or my tummy.
I am so proud of you. Your little guy is just as adorable as my GS. Kids are just so special. You want to see elderly perk right up, just take a child past their room. My GS was walking up and down the halls at the hospital and even those that were in really bad shape could help but smile at him. He looks right at them and smiles at them and some times waves to them. Continue to love and enjoy him like you are because they grow up all to fast. I did truly appreciate my girls to the level I am appreciating my GS. Was to selfish I think.

GrammyL-Eeek, the deer thing was so scary!! Yes, it does seem we have the same personalities. This morning I found myself apologizing to our housekeeper for anything that I may of done. LOL! Crazy me! Yeah I always try and please people, even if it doesn't please me. Ugh...
Me and DF have been together for well this year will be 8 years. We haven't broken up ever. We fight like siblings, and some people say we look alike. Yikes! Like you and your DH we also fight who loves eachother more. LOL! Crazy!
Irish- Yeah MSG and dairy, will trigger my migraines as well. Though as of late, my migraines come with TOM if I really had a stressful time before it.
Hat- Candy is my weakness too, though Reese's Peanut buttercups are my downfall. I only brought 2 miniature ones to work. I may not be able to give them up, but in small doses, it makes me happy. LOL!
I would love to go home now, I need a couple more hours of shut eye. My body hasn't recovered from my migraine. When I get a big one, it takes a couple of days of rest to feel normal again. Oh well, I will be leaving at 2:30 today, so not too shabby.
Tinky ~ I haven't had one in a long time but they are absolutely horrible. I feel for anyone that has to live with them on a regular basis.
Irish ~ That is almost ironic how many different ways you can style your hair when its short off the same cut. Sometimes I spike mine, other times I fluff it, sometimes have the hair in front of my ear and other times its behind my ear. I just love all the different looks I can get.
