I had the same problem. I went and had mine highlighted. It looked great but darn it took forever and my hair was way to dry after that.

That us to funny Zenor. He will probably be happy when you start going gray so people will stop thinking he robbed the cradle.

Irish ~ The weather is beautiful here also and I am spending as much time outside as I can. I don't like meeting new people so you are much braver than I am. Good going on the walks!

Lynne ~ Must be nice to be tall because I am at 174 and I wear a size 16, they are loose but that is the way I like them. I always say I am not fat just to short for my weight. LOL! No its not fair that we can't eat what we want as long as we work out. Just doesn't seem to balance out. Maybe your building muscle and that is why your sore.

Tinky ~ I will try not to blink because I want the weekend to last as long as possible. I wonder if tooth picks or tape would hold my eye lids open. I could just put eye drops in for moisture. LOL! I will enjoy GS while I can, should be nice weather and we can play outside some. I would just have them put the high lights in because you hair is a beautiful color.

Going to read the next page.

Decided today to give my old program a whirl but not strict and count the calories. LOL! No wonder you lose on the program. You eat often but I will be lucky to get 1200 calories in. The amazing thing is I am rarely hungry on it and it is very well balanced other than the lack of dairy. I will cute the cheese out but I won't cute the yogurt out because it has to many health benefits.

Went to Qdoba today for lunch with DH and that worked out well. I got a naked chicken burrito (leave out the shell) with fresh tomato salsa and black beans. It was really good.

FIL had another bad spell last night so we were at the hospital again till about midnight. Come to find out his port that they use for dialysis was full of infection so every time they do dialysis they were pumping infection through his system. They removed it this morning and he is back to like nothing happened. His blood pressure was 69/40 at one point. I have never seen anyone as determined to live as he is. He has no quality of life because he is paralyzed on his right side but if he is happy thats all that counts.

I want to wish everyone good luck this weekend with our food plans. I will be thinking of you all. I am determined to do it this weekend. TOM is trying to start and the scale was 175 this morning which I wasn't happy but considering how life is right now I can deal with it.

Talk to you all on Monday!

Sorry to hear fil still isn't doing well. There are enough problems to face without having to face problems someone else is causing jeez.

I have to really work to get at least 1200 in sometimes. Was one of the big things the doc, nutritionist/dietitian really stressed. All the required amounts of the four basic food groups and at least 1200 calories. It can be tough. Sometimes I have all the groups in and the requirements and I am well under 800 calories. Then it is creative eating to get the calories up lol.

Grammy: sorry about your FIL!!! naked chicken burrito sounds GOOD!! don't know what Qdoba is but its sounds like my kind of restaurant. I LOVE mexican food

well I walked for 3 hours yesterday taking more pictures. It was beautiful out and I got a bit of a sun burn. I had a yogurt banana smoothie on my walk and it was soooo good. Last night I went to my SIL's and my son went to my moms. I had one drink..it was straight pomegranate liquer so I didn't mix it with anything. My car will be ready tuesday its gonna cost 650 it was the gear on the drive shaft all the prongs on it broke off and one ended in the oil pump so we need new gear and new pump and it won't come til monday at 1:30. I lost another lb of my gained weight one to go and I will be back to where I was. If the weather keeps up I plan on doing ALOT of walking next week. Me and my son were feeding the geese and ducks down at the park and they came right up to my feet I had to lift my son up so he wouldn't try and pet them :S plus I heard geese bite. hope everyones weekend is good

hello, ladies
I think I reached my first mini-goal
my weigh-in day is sunday, so it's not official yet, but this morning I stepped on scale and it showed 100kg (220 pounds) and in just 3 weeks eating 1600-1800 kcal a day
I'm so happy

I like to count loss in pounds, it's so much better to lose 11 pounds than 5 kilos
I just hope that tomorrow the scale will say the same thing as today

Irish~We have Canadian geese here in WA and YES, THEY BITE! Geese are mean! I remember being chased by them as a child because they thought I had food (those were non-Canadian white geese, but still.) I'm glad your car wasn't the engine! That would have been a lot more $$$. I really wish there was a way to not have to dump money into cars.

Oolong~Congrats on your weight loss! Keep up the good work!

Grammy~Given my hair color and genetics I imagine I'll go white (not grey) sometime after 70. My mother was never grey/white and my Dad didn't start getting any grey until he was in his late 60's (after Mom died~it was stress greys) and then not too much. So, people will just have to think DH is robbing the cradle.

So we are going to have to wait, at least 2-3 more weeks before we here about the job here in WA. I'm not going to go into why because thinking about it makes me so mad. It's nothing reflecting on DH, lets just say work politics are lame! This isn't helping my stress levels. I feel like I could eat a cow and I don't even eat beef! Don't worry though, I'm not going to give in!!! At least I hope not. Arg! Sorry if I sound like a broken record!

Anyway... I hope everyone is having a great weekend.

OK, I let myself have one more big bang weekend before starting back on the program that works best for me and continuing to count calories although totally unnecessary but I want to see how many calories this program really gives you. I am up from eating and TOM. So I moved my ticker up, once again but it will drop really fast this week when TOM leaves and I stick to my program.

We bought GS a sand box this weekend and toys. He really, really likes it but we were running the roads so much he didn't get to play in it very much. The darn goat bit him in the forehead so we have to lock him up now when my GS is over. We are going to get him a house that we can chain him to like people do with their dogs.

FIL is doing well considering all he has been through the past week. His source of infection is removed, port for dialysis, but he is still on IV antibiotics for a few more days. They gave him a blood transfusion because what the dialysis unit failed to report was he was 2 units low on blood. They were getting it out but not getting it back in. Once the doctor requested the report the gave him a transfusion. Darned if you darned if you, don't type thing. DH, GS and I got their yesterday to see him and it was after 11:00 am and my FIL said he was hungry. DH asked if he had breakfast and he said no they didn't bring him anything. I went to the nurses station and they said they thought his wife would bring him something so they didn't order him anything. ARG! So here he is hungry and a diabetic. My MIL was hot when she got there and found out.

Irish ~ I would have never guessed you were a blond, that just blows me away. I thought your hair was naturally black, fits your complexion. Keep up the good work on the weight loss and shew on the vehicle even though I know it still hurts. Qdoba is just a Mexican fast food restaurant or should I say medium speed restaurant. Its not really fast food because you have to go in and the make it right in front of you but you have to get it at the counter so its not really a sit down restaurant either. Its right in the middle of the road. It was very yummy.

Geese are just plain old mean and so are swans. Zenor I was attacked when I was a kid by both myself so I agree that is a horrifying experience. My neighbor said they are the best watch dog you can ever have and I have to agree. They don't back down.

Zenor ~ I work at a University so I understand the politics. We had two temporary faculty members here teaching, writing grants and it two them several tries to finally get hired into permanent positions. It is just crazy.

Oolong ~ Congrats! and keep up the good work.

Shy ~ I planned my menu for the day today and I have to eat 6 meals to get me close to 1200 calories. I took the calorie counts right off the packages, weighed and measure, even added an evening snack to get me to I believe me close.

Here is what I am having for today:

B - 2 oz turkey breast cutlet (60 cal) , 1/2 c. oatmeal (75 cal)
S - 2 oz turkey breast cutlet (60 cal), apple (60 cal), 3 oz raw baby carrots (35 cal)
L - Banana (82 cal) and Taco salad = 2 oz lean ground turkey breast, salsa, 2 Tbsp 2% cheese, yellow bell pepper, onion, roman/spinach (200 cal)
S - 2 oz turkey breast cutlet (80 cal), orange (60 cal), 3 oz raw baby carrots (35 cal)
D - Turkey brat (140 cal) cut up and fried with zucchini, mushrooms and onions (40 cal), 3 oz Organic Sweet Potato Fries (130 cal)
S - 2 oz lean turkey burger (80 cal), strawberries (40 cal)

So as you can see lots of food for very few calories and I eat every 2-3 hrs so I am never hungry. I will lose weight fast if I stick with it and that is the good side to it, OH and DH is happy because I am eating animal protein. Down side is I still feel bad for the poor animals I am eating.

Well I did some looking and I found organic, free range chickens= that are hormone and antibiotic free in the grocery store I shop at. Little more expensive but we are talking pennies. I didn't find any turkey however.

Well I better go. It is crazy around here and I just had a student tell me she isn't working this week, 16 hrs of work I have to make up for plus my own. Thank goodness I worked hard last week and got ahead of the game.

I will check back in a while.

I just wanted to let you all know I am doing something I normally don't do and that is set a goal. Something has to keep me on track and I can't wait to start moving that butterfly across those roses. If I keep my nose to the grindstone and stay on track on the weekends I will lose more than even that.

Sometimes that is just what we need. Nice little goals, they do help us stay on track a bit. I happen to love the 21 day challenge thread here on the site. It is how I get my exercise in every week. Hope the goat bite wasn't to bad. Goats can really be mean sometimes. Glad the FIL situation is getting straighted out. Oh my gosh now they aren't even giving food. I understand about hitting 1200. I eat about 6 times a day too. Even after getting in the required amounts of the four basic food groups I find many days that I have to add things to get my calories up. I want them to be up to about 1300. There are some days I am just happy if they hit 1200 lol. I only see one thing from the bread/cereal group there. You should have about 6. You have something you can add to what you are eating to give you more calories.

Lynne
Please don't give up. Exercise is very important to get the body in good shape. It goes right along with eating well. Maybe take a look at what you are eating. Take a bit of time to plan out menus that have things you like but fit into a good healthy food diet.

zenor
My mother nor father had gray or white hair until they were much older. I am the only Blonde in the family ( milk man lol ). Maybe that is why I am getting white hair much earlier than they did. This has to be really hard waiting to hear about work. It can be very stressfully. Please just try to relax, I know easier said than done. Worry isn't going to et you an answer sooner.
