Woo Hoo I went down another 2 lbs! So I finally hit 20 +1 lbs! Yay!! I'm so estatic!! Even with TOM I can still lose! LOL! Ok....gotta chill out a bit!

JCogs- I played around alot with my calories, I started out at 1800, then took it down but then found out it was too low and I was constantly hungry, I eat around 1600-1700 calories a day. Be patient with it, it can take any where 4-6 weeks for you body to adjust. Just know that you're doing your body good by making a life style change.

Milleradah- Congrats...doesn't it feel good? This is one of the times when we can celebrate the scale being wrong. LOL

Zenor- Yes I have gone clothes browsing rather than shopping, I can say that I'm not too thrilled with the choices, but there are some stuff that I'm waiting to wear. As for Bermuda shorts, I'm too short to be wearing those. They would probably look like Capris on me!

GrammyL- SO glad to hear from you!!! Glad that you're doing alright!

Mary- Great job on the loss!! Wooohoooo!

Well off to change my ticker and back to work....Have a great one...!

I'm a newbie here...I just started my lifelong journey toward better health on June 8th, and just started calorie counting for real on June 14th. For the portion of the month of June, here are my stats:

Average cal/day: 1570 (I'm really changing this up a lot -- some days are hovering around 1200, and I even had one day at 2800 -- I was visiting my mom with lots of comfort food and temptations around!)

Fat %: 36 (lower than it was!)
Carb %: 46 (also lower than before!)
Prot %: 18 (getting better -- difficult on mostly vegetarian!)

Average cal burned/day: 2068

Weight Loss: 6 pounds (it was 10, but I had a 4 pound rebound this week...just prior to the TOM and with a few M&Ms last week). Don't know how this is possible since 2068-1570 = 498 x 17 days = 8466 deficit / 3500 cal/pound = 2.4 pounds. Guess it must be the goofiness of the activity estimates in fitday.

I was getting discouraged by my gain this week -- but when I lay it all out for this post, I guess I did pretty well! And overall, I'm moving in the right direction.

We had some errands around lunch time, and broke down and got the kids fast food kid's meals. Of course the 3 year old didn't eat much of his and it was like a drug addict having drugs in the house. I HAD to eat that junky food. It tasted like I was dumping salt into my mouth straight from the shaker!

Once again, my little detour from healthy foods will still fit within my overall cals for the day, but I had to confess my sins on 3FC. lol!

TOPS weigh-in tonight and I am finally bringing in my doctor's not with a 135 official goal weight. She wouldn't let me have the 130 I asked for.

Hi everyone!

I finally got that used treadmill I mentioned a week or so ago. That means no excuse not to jog in the heat!

Calories today have been good. I am at 1400. I shoot for around 1600. Yesterday I was at 1750, so I think that evens out pretty well. I will weigh in tomorrow. Hopefully I can post a loss.

Good Evening all..still on my 21 lb loss high...LOL...I never thought I would make it this far. Well...today went well, kept my calories in check, got up to 80 mins of exercise. I even had a . It was real ooey and gooey..yum! It was worth my hard work. I'm dress shopping for me and DF's Anniversary it's not until Sept, but it's good to start looking.

Jeanette- Looks good to me too!!

Lovemyboy- Good luck with your weigh in tomorrow I hope you get something good!

CoolMom- Your sins are forgiven!

Ok, then I will confess, I had 3 bites of my bro's Chef Boyardee yesterday, and I liked it. Doesn't sound bad right? Well I had it after I was already to go to bed, with my teeth brushed and faced washed! LOL!

Jacey- I would do 1650 for a week and see how you feel. If you're feeling hungry, then up it a little and go from there.

QueenJane- Usually I don't go by what my site says I burned...they're really ball park figures. Are you drinking enough water? Salt and TOM play a big part of water retention for me. Don't worry it will come off soon enough. Just don't go too low or too too high on your calories.

Well GOOD NIGHT all!! I'm off to bed...

Calories for today~ 1770
Fiber~ 36 grams

Like I said this week I'm just trying not to gain. I'm celebrating all week up until my birthday. We went out for sushi again. I swear, if I'd lay off the sake my calories would probably been in an okay range both times! Oh, well, you only turn 30 once right?

On a happy note, I bought a pair of size 8 jeans tonight. I love Levis 515s! I know that these aren't true 8's, but they make me feel better anyway. Has anyone else noticed that Levi's fit differently depending on what country they are made in? I can try on the same number, same wash and if they were made in different countries they will fit completely different. I wouldn't bother trying them on except when I find the right pair they are perfect. Wouldn't it be cool if you could just go into a booth, get scanned, and have a computer generate the perfect jeans (and make them without a tag so that it wouldn't matter?)

jcogs~ It looks like you've got it figured out!

lovemyboy~ That's awesome that you got a treadmill! I love finding stuff like that used, then I'm proud I got a bargain and I use it more (aren't I silly? Lol.)

jaceycat28~ I'd start with the higher number and if you don't see a loss then go a bit lower until you do start seeing a 1-2lb loss per week. It's better to start higher so you have somewhere to go when you get closer to goal.

queenjane~ to you too! I wouldn't get too discouraged. TOM can do strange things to our weight. I think we've all had that happen at one time or another. Do you have specific numbers you are aiming for? I know that most plans recommend under 30% for fat, but you seem to be getting adequate protein to me. I'm just curious, I like to know what everyone is aiming for (so I can see what works for different people.) It's great that you are improving your numbers! I try for under 30% fat, but I don't always make it. Every little step towards that goal helps though.

Petra & Tinky~ Congrats on the losses!

good morning! i don't have much planned for today except going to sams club and buying more water. i drink alot more when i have the 16oz bottles to drink from. i have tried eating 2000 calories a day and i am maintaining. when i was down at 1550 i was gaining. so i guess i gotta monkey around and see what works.

zenor77 thats so exciting about the size 8. what country are they made in that you like?

Good Morning ladies

I did not post yesterday. I have been fighting a bug. I do feel better today. Wow! it wore me out. Did not make it to curves yesterday. I did this a.m. but now I feel I have to go Thurs and Friday. Mostly I do Monday, Wednesday and Friday. I went today. and moved. But not like normal. Oh well tomorrow is another day.
I did manage to keep one 159. sooo. I changed my ticker.

Lara,
I am so glad to see you back.
I hope all is well, And hope to see ya next week too.

Mary,
7.6 lbs. Wowie! that’s a lot. I don’t know how you girls keep loosing so much.

Tinky,
your first 21! what an achievement. I am proud of you too. just think… soon it will be your Goal weight. and then you can really be proud.

Zenor,
Size 8!!! Oh you lucky girl. That’s what being tall does for a person too.
there is less than 5 pounds different from me. and I am still in a 12-14 pant.

clothes shopping is something I have hated for years. I hope that soon, It will be fun again.
I bought a pair of Bermuda shorts, got home and decided the same thing. I am just too short for them. I might as well get the next length.

Jacey,
congrats on your 5lbs. sounds like you are getting the hang of this calorie counting. keep it up!

Queenjane,
Welcome,
don’t get discouraged by a small gain. just get back up and try again. it will come back off, if you keep on plan. Yes, it sounds like you are moving in the right direction.

Zoe,
I know what you mean about going to fast food places. Way to much salt. Thank God I have never salted my food much. Don’t like a lot of it. Congrats keeping in your plan of calories. Hey! any new pics of the little one? love pics of babies.

Lovemyboy,
Good luck with your weigh in. It is so exciting to get up on those scales and see everyone else’s face when they see a big loss. Gotta love it.

Well If I don't get back for a day I have to wish you all a

HAPPY 4TH OF JULY!

Hey everyone!
Tinky - Awesome job on your first 21 lbs!!! That's my 10% number, so I can't wait to get there. Good for you.

Zenor - Congrats on the size 8! Nothing like slipping into a pair of jeans that look good on you. I have a few waiting in my closet for me!

Theresa - glad you're feeling better!

Jeanette - Your PopTarts comment cracked me up! I can't even buy those things of the whole box will be gone in a day!

QueenJane - Welcome!

I've been doing great the past week or so. You may (or may not) remember I posted a week ago Friday that even though I'd stayed within my calorie range and did 40 mins/day of exercise, I had gained a pound. I was up to 193 (couldn't bring myself to change my ticker). ANYWAY, I didn't weigh myself until this morning and I'm in the 180's!!! I'm down to 189 - finally! This is the weight I started at 5 years ago when I lost 40 lbs. So, even though I'm back where I started and that's kind of a drag, I still feel good that I've lost 12 pounds so far and am on my way to a healthy weight/BMI.

Have a good day everyone!

Zenor: Size 8! WOW!!!!

Anyway, to answer your questions, I'm aiming for under 30% fat, roughly 20-30% protein. I'm trying to stay in the 1200-1800 range, so averaging 1570 wasn't too bad...just so that I don't have too many 3000 days!

As a post-script, I weighed today and was down 1.5 from yesterday, so it must've been some sodium/TOM thing. I'm not discouraged...I've got you folks to keep me motivated...and even if I'm not perfectly on program, at least I'm doing better than I was and that's progress.

Thanks for the congrats everyone! I'm really a size 10 (in everything else.) It's a nice boost though. I was a size 10 in HS and I'm almost the same weight. It's exciting to be so close to goal, but at the same time I'm scared of maintaining!

jaceycat28~The ones made in Mexico and Indonesia seem to fit me best. This particular pair were made in Mexico. The ones made in China are tiny in all the wrong places.
