Good morning, Bluesers!

I'm staying the course and the scales are smiling. I have yummy fruits and veggies in the house and Hubby has been cooking some delicious WW recipes for dinner. Last night, we had delicious broiled pork chops that had been marinated in honey dijon combination for over 8 hours. Delicious!

That would not be a very good dream. That would be a nightmare! Hang with me, girlfriend. Let's do this.

You have no idea how much I needed to hear this. I've been very non-commital about starting my exercise program. Your words have convinced me that I must exercise. Thank you!

Well, it's time for me to quit typing and eat my breakfast. I'm trying a new hot multigrain cereal today. I hope it's yummy.

Have a great on-plan day. GO BLUE!

The wiifit hates me. I have a horrible sense of balance and it's making my wiifit age 49!! That's 13 years older than I really am. Completely not acceptable. DH was 2 years younger than he actually is. Let me tell you, there is no way that a smoking, drinking, couch potato is younger than me!

We're another family that has every console and handheld ever made. I rarely play our 360, except for Hexic, (which you can play on most free game sites on the web), but I love our PS3. I'm a big Final Fantasy fan. DH gave me his old DS when he upgraded to the Lite version, but all I use that for is sudoku, but now I'm seeing this ad for the "My weight loss coach" game on the DS over on the 3FC side panel. Might be worth investigating. I've currently got DHs PSP borrowed to play FF Crisis Core, basically I'm a sucker for any game where I get a sword to hack things to bits.

PMS is here again, it's throwing off my fairly good week. At least I know why the numbers are lying.

Anna - Please open a bodybugg rental place. How's the box biz going? Congrats on running that 3.2 miles. Are you going to do some organized 5Ks?

Dora - Happy Anniversary!

Shoot - I need to get to work. I'll be back...

This is the song I put on when I need a boost:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WCkQZOnCN3k

The whole idea of the song is that Right Now is the most important moment. "Catch a magic moment and do it right here and now". So in running talk, shut up and keep moving, there is never going to be a better chance to do this. You are already on the road, just don't stop.

Another line is about slipping a little off your pace. He says that right now is the time to turn it around.

Very good stuff from Eddie and the boys.

I have enough business juggling in the air right now, though the body bugg thing sounds tempting....

I don't do organized 5Ks until October or September. It is just too blasted humid to run when they want me to. I was done today before most of them start.

If I had the money, I would start a Bodybugg rental service. I totally think that would be cool.

I did step today at the gym but it was a different instructor and I dont like how she does step. I think maybe alittle too advanced for me. The regular instructor does more of dance choreography and I like hers. I walked out of the class early and went on the treadmill. I feel I had a pretty good workout with just the treadmill though. Now I wish I had a treadmill at home so that i could be on it here. I'm getting ready for vegas. i even had my mom go buy a scale so i can stay on top of it. I don't want to gain anything.....speaking of gaining, I gained 1.5 lbs....how is that possible??? I guess that little break I took is now catching up to me. I need to get back in the routine of things I guess. Maybe I need a bodybugg!!!

I don't remember how long you said you were going to be in Vegas. Please remember though that all scales are different and you might retain water during the flight. I personally wouldn't be concerned with exactly what the number was while there, just whether it was going up or down after your first morning there. Did that make sense?

I had a decent workout today. I finally decided to slow down my speed on the C25K. Usually I do 3.5 and 5-5.3mph. I haven't been able to break through W3 and the three minute runs. I slowed down to 3.3 and 4.5mph and I breezed through.

Then I went and did a little shopping. I bought some cycling gloves on clearance for $3, regularly $12.97. I also bought a exercise ball. I decided that anytime I want to sit at the computer or at the table my butt can be on the ball. Not to mention all the cool exercises I will be able to do with it when I wrangle it away from DD. DH hates it already, lol.

Food was even decent today.

Way to go on the C25k! Whoo hoo!

I want an exercise ball too, now that I'm lifting at home. I'm loving all the new emphasis in the strength training world on free weight/core/body weight exercises, and a ball would come in very handy it seems.

I'm particularly enchanted with doing back squats with a full range of motion (a la Krista's diva description). Does anything make you feel more weight-liftery than this exercise? Well, besides bench press. But anyway, I've been surprised what a challenge it is to do full-range-of-motion back squats with really good form. I can't wait to be able to do them with actual weight, lol, right now I'm using a broomstick!

amy- on the pooping thing......I used to work at a nursing home and the ladies there were always constipated. They werent ambulatory (not walking) and walking allows you to poop easier so they were constipated. One of the nurses there told me that poop can weigh up to 15 lbs. Can you believe that?! To poop out 15 lbs would be awesome!!!!

Well, my doctor called me back, so I talked to her about my thoughts regarding weight loss surgery. She supports me 100%. I have decided I want to do the biliopancreatic diversion with duodenal switch (BPD-DS, often refferred to as just duodenal switch, or DS) as opposed to the typical gastric bypass (Roux-en-Y or RNY). I've already researched and chosen the surgeon I want (not many to choose from for this procedure, plus I want it done laparoscopically if I qualify, so that narrowed down the field of surgeons even more). I found out what my insurance requires in order to qualify, and I registered for an information session next month at Johns Hopkins (where my preferred surgeon works).

It's crazy--I went from being completely against WLS for myself to actually getting excited about it. The procedure I've chosen has a greater than 90% success rate at sending type 2 diabetes into full remission for at least 15 years (longer term studies have not yet been completed)--this is better than any of the other WLS procedures available. DS also has the highest rate of excess weight loss AND maintenance of weight lost.

Of course, with anything, there is a tradeoff. DS patients need to take even more supplements after surgery than other gastric bypass procedure patients.

I haven't been very busy at work lately, so I've basically been reading about WLS for 10+ hours a day. I read clinical studies, surgeons' websites, and patient experiences. I am 110% sure that if I am having surgery, the DS is the best one for me to have.

Sorry for all that--I'm a little enthusiastic about the wealth of information I've acquired on the topic

Wow, went to Noodle and Co---yowza. Came home and checked the nutrition....WAY over on cals. No wiggle room next week. On the upside, I ordered the whole wheat, and my dish had !20! g of fiber. I did not eat all of it. Only about 3/4, so I know what to have for lunch tomorrow.

Anyway, if you get the small portion of the foods, it is a vegan paradise. I got the large, intending to split with Meara, but she wanted Daddy's pesto. Now I know!

Looking forward to tomorrow's run! Having that milestone behind me feels delightful.

I think it is great that you are making informed choices instead of just saying, "I give up, give me the surgery." It sounds like you have looked at every angle, done thorough research and have realistic expectations. I wish you all the success in the world with this. Trading supplements for blood glucose control meds? Heck yeah!

Jill - I agree with Anna, I think it's great that you are excited about this option and really finding out what it means for you, instead of just treating it as a last ditch option. You have shown recently that you are committed to WL and I think that's hugely important and telling about how ready you are to pursue this option. I wish you the best of luck, keep us posted!

Just a quick fly-by, have to toot my own horn - I just got back from my WW meeting and have FINALLY reached my first 10% off! (Got to post -2.2 for the challenge, my biggest loss since the initial one.) It's been 6 months or so since I started WW... It's been SLOW for me... but it's gone! I haven't been below 195 since summer of 2006, so I am pretty dang excited to be here now! Now to just lose 10% three more times... and I think I can call it quits. But I am in no hurry... slow and steady, you know?
