Two for Tuesday

1. What was the last movie you saw...did you enjoy it? Is there a summer movie you are looking forward to? Good Lord, I can't remember. Maybe Lord of the Rings. I'm not much of a movie or TV fan. Give me a good BOOK anyday

2. What is your favorite body part to exercise? My brain. Oh, you meant PHYSICALLY exercise - my legs - I love to walk.

joylove26 -

it took me a looooong time to build my running up to even consider running that much....like 15 years of stopping and starting, but slowly getting more and more consistent. i started when i was 18 and i just wanted to be able to run 3 miles. i thought that 5 miles was a miracle and that my friend who could run for an hour straight was genetically gifted. until i ran 3 miles. then i thought 4 was attainable, 5 really really hard, and hour was for the genetically gifted. seriously, it just became a constant feedback loop. i would hit a certain mile, and realize that one more was conceivable. and now i can run for an hour. i am still in awe of this. i do it because despite the discomort, it thrills me to know that i CAN do it.

and it was a confidence builder too. or rather, as my confidence went up, i started thinking that i might be able to run farther. believed that my body was actually capable of it. and it is. yours too. pretty much everyone's body if you just give it time and some gently consistent effort.

hugs, h

p.s.

Hi everyone -

I was weeing off computer time for awhile there was focusing on training a bit, but I'm trying to pop in more often. Things are going well only 3 weeks until Triathalon #1 and the harder one is only a month after that... Way too soon!!! ack!!!

1. What was the last movie you saw...did you enjoy it? We went to see You Don't mess with the Zohan. Was pretty funny and although I was low on sleep I really enjoyed it. Much better then I thought it would be.

2. What is your favorite body part to exercise? Hmm... Legs because I have weak-*** chicken arms. I'm going to try and do more arm work in the fall... I really want to be able to do real pushups.

1. What was the last movie you saw...did you enjoy it? Is there a summer movie you are looking forward to?

In the theatre...I think the last movie I saw was Alvin and Chipmunks...hehe. I am watching Dodgeball right now on TV. For those of you that said you are not interested in anything coming out...do you know WALL-E is coming out?!?! It looks so cute...I love pixar! I also want to see the New Batman. So sad though...but I want to see him again!

2. What is your favorite body part to exercise?

Well, it should be arms... but I like to work my legs because I like to walk and it doesn't require much. How lazy is that.

Hope everyone is having a good week so far. Seems a lot of us are having trouble sticking to plan, myself included. I did, however, stick to plan today! ONE day on plan and counting! Hopefully my scale will reflect that next week! Thanks, Diva, for the time reminder for this challenge!

Last movie I saw was Prince Caspian. Good movie. I loved the series of books and they have done a good job with the movies. I am not much of a tv or movie watcher. I would rather read a book.

I like to exercise my arms. Why? Because it is easy to exercise my legs lol. I get more satisfaction watching my arms get in better shape.

thistime
You should see me around here lol. I have company coming in from out of state on the 8th. We are going to the camp grounds on the 4th for a three day weekend. I am trying to get everything done I want done before we go. We batted back and forth not going so I had a bit more time to get done. Scrubbing ceilings takes forever but what a great workout you get lol. I have this weekend every year and decided I just couldn't give it up. Now I am working from the time I get up until I go to bed to make sure everything is done. Not sure we are going to have the down stairs bath finished before they get here but at least will have the sink and toilet back in. Might have to wait to put the wood floor in until they are gone.

Went to go see The Happening on Saturday evening. Don't bother... I am looking forward to seeing SATC and a few others.

2. What is your favorite body part to exercise?

My arms because I am needing to work on them the most. I have weak arms and that stupid fat flab that just bugs me ... I am determined to tone my arms. My legs are already strong, it's just a matter of toning.

Hey girls!! Hope everyone is well. I'm having internet problems at home and they can't come out until Friday to fix it so it's hard to get on here! I had a good weigh-in this am!

I signed up for a 5k in September woo hoo. I'm still not able to run 3 miles but I'm getting there, slowly but surely :-)

Morning Red Team...Hijacking the thread I love movies so wanted to give my 2 cents

1. What was the last movie you saw...did you enjoy it? Is there a summer movie you are looking forward to?

Last movies I saw (I know Q is for only 1 movie) - Iron Man, Indiana Jones and Hulk. I enjoyed Iron Man a lot. Indy eh! It could have been better. I enjoyed watching Hulk...it was good and the way it should have been done in the first place.

2. What is your favorite body part to exercise?

I don't think I have one I need to exercise all my body parts

Morning

Guess what???!!!! Me and the Family are going shopping for bikes tonight! I can't wait. We went to Toys R Us last night but they didn't have much because they just had a sale. Their getting a Bike shipment in today so were going tonight. Me, my Daughter and my BF are getting one. Were gonna get a baby seat for my youngest Daughter. I can't wait. I love biking on the trails and stuff. My only worry is, I won't be able to bike my weight. When I was 17 I tried bike riding with my friends and I remember not being able to peddle my weight. It could've been because I smoked, I was really over weight and I was so inactive. I hope I can do it. It would be really depressing and embarassing.

*Wacky Wednesday*
I have no idea what I'm going to try that's new. I'll get back to you a little later. I have to ponder the thought

The wierdest Diet I've tried is some grapefruit thing. I can't really remember it that well since it was like 10 years ago. Herbalife (YUCK) I had to drink these nasty shakes and take so many pills a day.

The wierdest exercise I've done is the Hip and Thigh Machine I had when I was like 13....LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Has anyone ever seen these??!....LOL!!!!

Have a great day!

Confession Time: I am a sucker for infomercials. It's not that I'm addicted to watching them, but for some reason I buy into what they are trying to sell (I'm getting more skeptical with age and experience) I just searched the web for the last 10 minutes to find a link to the one piece of exercise equipment I HAD to have when it came out! I think I spent $80-$100 at the time (of course it was clearanced at $20 within 6 months). It was so confusing that I had to put labels on it to explain to myself how to use it and where the different bands went. I'm not sure but it could possibly be the same one Lonnie is talking about. Here's a link.....I know there's "link" rules but let me assure you all that this is NOT a recommendation but rather mockery!!

This is what I bought:
The BEST bun and thigh machine out there..... or NOT!

I would have so much money in the bank if I could go back and not purchase this and MANY other machines I HAD TO HAVE through the years. And now there are things I have sold in garage sales that I wish I had back (Like a step that they use in my Jari Love DVD's or my elliptical machine )

I've tried some diet pills, the grapefruit diet, and a few others......

Good morning everyone. FINALLY starting to see that scale move downward, which is weird because honestly, I've been so stressed the past few days, I have not even tried. I haven't watched my food but 1 day, I haven't exercised, but I have spent a lot of time cleaning and running around. Beats me how the scale is moving down lol, but I'll take it!

As far as weird Diets...Hmmmm. I tried that cabbage soup thing, to me the Atkins was weird, and it did work, but as soon as carbs were back, so was the weight. Not something I can live with. Diet pills back in the day (Dexitrim), UGH, they made me sick as a dog. Weird exercise equipment, was that belt shaking machine and that some roller machine you sat on from the 80's (like my 98 LB behind needed to lose weight then), and that stupid Theigh(sp) master thing. My neighbor is currently using that, lol! I guess that's about as weird as it gets.

I have a major headache, I've had it for about 3 days now. Nothing I do will make it go away, and it's making me moody. I'm not sure what's going on. *sigh* Prolly won't get any exercise in with the head pounding like this. Even light is hurting me. Is this a migrain? I don't think I've ever had one before....
