( I say in a very serious voice ) I have done that many many times.

    Shelby
I dated a banker in my younger days. I thought my mother was going to cry when I told her he just wasn't my cup of tea lol. There is something about a man that can dig a ditch, work with his hands and fix a drain that is totally HOT to me.

People should understand they are not invincible but they are invisible to the driver if they are driving to close.
  • Hello my lovely teammies
I apologize for being MIA this week. Just been caught up with the kids and doing stuff. Other than mowing this past week, no planned workouts. I walked but wasn't like exercise walking. I stayed OP with food and water though. I'll be back to working out starting in the morning. I'll weigh in tomorrow morning too and will take my measurements. I have 11 days til I head home. I'm so excited and I will have computer access and a pool!!!! I miss my pool so much. So I'll be living in it, lol.
I need to catch up with the thread, I hope everyone is doing well!!
  • Quote: Two for Tuesday

    1. What was the last movie you saw...did you enjoy it? Is there a summer movie you are looking forward to?

    2. What is your favorite body part to exercise?
    1. Sweeny Todd and No Country for Old Men, I did like both of them.( at the movie theater it was SATC and loved it!!) And my summer movie I'm looking forward to is of course The Dark Knight. I've already got my 'Why so serious' t-shirt.

    2. My favorite body part to exercise would be my legs, probably because I see muscle definition in them the fastest.
  • I had a very busy weekend...sorry for not being able to post.

Camping was a lot of fun. I really love camping and get a lot of walking in.

I went and spent the gift card my hubby got me. I really actually enjoyed this shopping trip...and I hate shopping. I loved it because I totally didn't realize how many sizes I've gone down. I used to squeeze in to a size 24. Guess what size pants I wear now...16...I can't believe I fit into size 16 pants. It felt so awesome. I had so much trouble deciding between different things and ended up overspending. I think double the gift card...lol. Thank goodness, he didn't mind at all. He's such a sweetheart. I even made sure to get a really awesome red shirt

I think I may take some pics and try to find some old pics to compare. The old pics might be hard to find...I hated taking pics and usually hid from them.

I hope everyone else had a great weekend and I hope we kick some butt this week!
  • Wrap up of last week
On the positive side, I increased the minutes of working out for the week as a whole. On the negative side, I also increased in weight. I think this week will be better.
  • Good Monday Morning Red team!! Everyone ready to have a successful week?!

My question for you this bright sunshine morning is:

Do you find it harder or easier to lose weight in the summertime? Why? And do you have any solutions to help?
  • Cathy...so good to see you!! Totally understand about getting busy with the kids! 11 more days till you go home! I bet your pool misses you too LOL!! Keep up the great work!

Joyce...WOOOHOOO 16s!!! That is fantastic! Its so exciting for you to be able to shop the regulars sizes huh?! Can you tell I'm jealous LOL! We'll all be there soon enough! Just gotta follow your lead! Keep up the great work!

Vanity...maybe its lean muscle tissue building which is a GOOD gain! Or a little muscle water retention from being worked. I'd say its a successful week if you did the exercise! thats a very good thing...keep it up!!

Everyone else....whereever you are!! I hope you all have a wonderful day!

Well I would say easier because one can get out more, do more than in winter. But if you do winter sports that would help in the winter.

So I know we say no apologies when it's weigh in day but I must apologize for my gain. I have no clue as I've stayed within my calories and points, I didn't do planned workouts, but did stuff just the same. I did measure myself this morning and have lost 6" for the month of June. I don't think my gain is all muscle either. I just know I've got to get off this damn rollercoaster. I dont' know what more I can do than what I'm doing now. I've totally changed the way I eat. I eat way more healthy, lots of veggies and fruits. More whole grains. I guess I'm really going to have to boost my exercise. So the daily goal for July is to get 10,000 steps. I don't wear my pedometer when I do my walking dvds as it doesn't count accurately. So it'll just be straight walking through out the day, outdoor walks, around the house, shopping, etc... And I know that adding swimming this month will help boost my exercise time. My parents are very health conscious so food and exercise will not be a problem there. And I'm bringing my workout dvds to do plus I'll be walking with my mom in the mornings. I do have the first Friday night planned to go out with my girlfriend as that is really the only 'girls night out' we're going to have while I'm there. And that'll mostly consist of having dinner and a margarita, sitting and chatting kid free. lol.
Well I better quit rambling and go workout!! I'll check in later.
  • Bah I had 3 off plan days of eating but I'm back on today. I didn't overdo it horribly but the PMS monster definitely got me this time.
I'm going out to dinner tonight but have saved enough calories for it and then catching up on Weeds episodes woo hoo! Have a good day all!

I really don't know. I didn't get really serious and start losing this weight until this January. I know with Matt home, and now Jess ALL this week, it's very hard staying OP when all they wanna do is eat junk. It's hard tearing myself away from them and hitting the GYM, but By God, I am gonna do it! Tired of being in the 190's! I overslept today, but I'll still get done what i set out to get done, I'll just be later doing it is all. Kind of miss my 3 hours of having the bed to myself thing in the mornings. He's screwing with my sleep patern, lol! So I made up for it by sleeping an hour and 1/2 late.

Gonna get a July & August Exercise thread up later this evening.

Only 6 more weeks to go!
  • Good morning ladies -- hope everyone is doing well -- at least we are still here

I had a good weigh in this morning, but had a horrible week -- I can't ever understand that!!! But, it was good incentive to get me going this week.

I personally think it will be easier to lose this summer. The kids and I tend to hang out outside, so there isn't food calling my name

Hope everyone has a great day. And a in case you need one!
  • Heather - I am back OP! Thanks for asking. My biggest problem really isn't eating right and staying OP ...its exercising! But i'm determined...hopefully I stay determined I see you are back OP too...let's stick to it!

Kellybones & Karen - I am also doing Jillians 30 Day Shred. I still think she is the devil I am sore after doing level 1 even just once! Kelly...I give you credit. I'm not so sure about trying it 30 days in a row yet! And Karen...you really do feel like you've gotten in a good workout even after only 20 minutes....you should try it soon.

I hope everyone had a good weekend. I'll check back in later today.
  • Good morning ladies~ I'm trying my hardest to get back into the swing of things, but for some reason it's really hard. It just seems like my mind went into vacation mode and it won't click out. I'm always way more chill in the summer to begin with. So the answer to the question is yes it's harder for me to loose weight in the summer. There are so many parties we go to in the summer and that = yummy food that I can't ever resist! This week I'm really gonna try to get back into exercise and some healthy eating. I just feel like a rollie pollie!LOL! Tomorrow is my b-day though so I'm sure that will throw me for a little detour. I can't believe the 4th is here already. My great-grandmother's b-day is on the 4th, so we'll be over at my mom's celebrating with them. It's a tradition...I don't know what we'll do when my great-grandmother passes on...it will be weird not to have her there. God I don't know why I'm talking like this though the women is so active still. This weekend was productive for us. Got the yard and garage all cleaned up. Today I'm doing laundry and getting the house picked up in between being outside with the kids. It's gonna be a beautiful week here. I think today it's only a high of 79...NICE! Yesterday evening it got so chilly out I had to throw a hoodie on...insane for almost July! I'll be taking my last freebie this week. My WI was horse crap. TOM is still here though and with that and vacation it just isn't pretty. Like I said though I'm really gonna try to get back this week. I am looking forward to doing my weights today....that will feel good! Okay I'm off to take the kids for a bike ride. Have a great day ladies~

Diva- I love when Kev leaves for work...I move right into the middle of the bed and grab all his pillows I sleep like a rock for those couple of hours!

Heather- I keep telling my husband I want to rent the Weeds season 1 dvd. I'll have to pick it up the next time I'm at the video store...I hear it's great!

Cathy- 6 inches lost is fantastic...keep it up girl!

Joyce- How great about the pants...that's always a great feeling

Rennie, Karen, Counting, Mel, and God I know I'm forgetting a bunch of names right now, but have a fantastic day
  • Quote: My question for you this bright sunshine morning is:

Do you find it harder or easier to lose weight in the summertime? Why? And do you have any solutions to help?
Well, I'd be inclined to say easier in the summer because of the abundancy of fresh fruits and veggies (I LOVE ripe cantaloupe and red peppers) and the lack of anything decent on tv (How sad that the tv rules my workout schedule? ) With that said, I've done terribly this past month.....another gain this week. I definitely see Tina's point that all of the summer barbeques (and ice cream temptations) cause problems in the summer. I have a hard time finding the motivation to exercise when it is extremely cold outside or extremely hot outside. Actually, I find it a challenge to stay motivated to eat healthy and exercise anytime during the year.

Tina - I've been back from vacation for 3 weeks and am still struggling to get back on track. I don't know if it is the vacation in particular, though. It seems that anytime I go off plan for any length of time, it's difficult for me to get back in the swing of things.
  • Good Morning!

Tina, I'm so glad you guys had an awesome time in Vegas! I can understand why it would be hard to get out of vacation mode after being there for a week. Truly I do! Reality will come soon enough, enjoy the fantasy a bit longer!

Stacy, good job getting back OP. You can definitely do the exercise! I agree, Jillian is evil I tell ya! I think she really enjoys the torture aspect of being a trainer, I really do! LOL I have the shred dvd but I tell ya twice is all I've done it as I'm a tad scared of not being able to walk again!

Shelby, yay for a good weigh in!! Summertime is easier I think for people with kids, just for the fact that they're home and bugging us alot more. lol I know you will see great success!

Diva, yes you will carry on this week regardless of the men folk being around! Ya gotta! I love having the bed to myself when Bryan leaves for work, I sleep really well until I get up for some reason! lol

Heather, AF is the devil herself I tell ya! Good for you for reigning it in and getting yourself on plan again! It's all in the planning, enjoy your night out!

Cathy, I say it is what it is. Please don't take that the wrong way! What I mean is, yeah the scale showed a gain, BUT look at all youre doing to better your body! You're eating right, you're exercising! Don't let a hunk of metal dictate what will make or break your positive streak with all your good healthy habits!!! It can't differentiate between water weight, muscle gain, etc... Be kind to yourself and acknowledge ALL the GREAT things you are doing!! It took me many years to reach this point, and right now I am just really proud of all the healthy changes I've made and I don't care what the scale shows anymore. What matters most to me is that I feel better!! Increased energy, clearer skin, positive moods, this is what drives me these days. ENJOY your time home, keep with your healthy changes and keep plugging away. The scale will have no choice but to eventually reward you with a number you like! I promise!

Vanity, I say to heck with the damn scale. And YAY for increasing your exercise minutes! That's awesome! Yes, this will be a good week for you!

Joyce, so glad you had a fantastic time camping! I am not much of a camper-kind-a-girl but the thought is nice. LOL I am so happy to hear you went shopping!!!! 16's is SO impressive!!! Wear them proudly girl!
