Amy - WTG on being under 270!

Dora - That is such a sweet story about your DH buying you a new car!

Jill - Ooh, I love shopping for house stuff. Something about not having to try it on first I keep meaning to go pick up some green bags but rarely make it in to BB&B unless I have a coupon

Tawnya - Wow, a bikini! Congrats on that, you must be lookin' awesome! Sorry to hear your DH was being a jerk, on Father's Day no less. I don't have any good advice for you (not sure you were looking for any anyway), but here are some s and positive vibes. Hang in there.

Josephine - Yeah, no complaining over there, you fantastic loser you. Congrats!

Jennifer - Sounds like you have the right idea - just put the bad choices behind you, move forward. You can't change the past but you can take charge of your future! I hope to see you back here later reporting an OP day!

Well, I went to my dad's house this weekend, which inevitably means I stop watching how I eat. Weirdest thing. It's not like they're food pushers, they aren't, but I always find stuff to snack on there. They keep food in the house that I can't keep in mine because I have a hard time resisting. So I went over my points Saturday and Sunday but I did get some good exercise in so hopefully that'll balance it out some. I'm proud of myself for going jogging every other day for the past week, it's my goal to keep that up this week too. I'm really loving it. I'm wearing heels today and I swear I can already see changes in the shape of my legs, but perhaps that's wishful thinking

In other good news, I don't know if you guys remember from the last thread me complaining about feeling somewhat underappreciated at work, and I was asking about strategies for asking for a raise/promotion. Well, Friday afternoon, 10 minutes before I leave for the day, my boss IMs me and says "by the way, we're promoting you effective 7/1, thought you'd like to know." Maybe he reads 3FC? So anyway, that set off my weekend in the right direction, still feeling great about it too

Hope everyone else is doing great, it's a new week!

mumtoliam - yes I did cry. But they were all very worthwhile tears. I can't wait for the movie to keep on going - even tho it exceeded 2 hrs I never checked my watch once. Could have sat there all day watching them!

Saw a 3.6 lb loss this week - yeah!!

Some of us are a week ahead (due to the way our weigh in days fell when the challenge started).

We're like teacher's pets or something.

I am officially a mess diet-wise. Exercise has disappeared completely, and good food choices have flown right out the window. ***WARNING: food porn ahead*** My weekend included movie theater buttered popcorn, a steak topped with lots of cheese and some green things (I'm pretty sure it was their spinach & artichoke dip, plus some added cheese on top), a bunch of little Atkins bars, and it's continued today with a crappy Kashi bar and some cashew & macadmia nut butter right out of the jar.

I've got to gain control. I just took my 2 jars of nut butters and dumped a packet of honey mustard and some cough drops into them and threw them away (had to destroy the food for fear of retrieving from the trash later--yes, I have issues). I have no more Atkins bars and no more Kashi bars. Traveling later this week will mean eating out more, but it will also mean not having food around constantly to tempt me--no food in my desk, no food in my hotel room, just 3 meals and some 100-calorie packs of almonds as snacks in between when needed.

Jill, good for you recognizing you're in a bad spot and destroying those nut butters. I have to do the same thing when I lose control, or I face the real possibility of foraging through the trash to get stuff back out (gross, I know - you're not alone). Can you go for a little walk right now, just to clear your mind, to kind of put a "period" on your last couple days of poor choices? It might help you feel like you can move on and get back on track. Good luck with the next couple days traveling, hang in there.

Jill -- you can get back on plan, I know it! Good job knowing what you had to do and DOING it! Traveling is hard, hang in there!

Good morning, Bluesers!

I am so sorry to report a gain for this week...and, I've already used my 2 freebies. Like Jill, I'm also officially a mess diet-wise. My men...Hubby and Dad...have been giving me issues lately and I've turned to the food. I wish I could find my "switch" that would enable me to get control over my emotions and stressors and not let them control me. A friend has recommended I delve into Bob's book, so I'm pulling it out again today and will work my way through it. I set-up my crockpot last night with my steelcut oats, so I'm starting off on the right foot today. Hubby has agreed to start walking with me again this evening. We may have our issues sometimes, but he's so great about exercising with me.

I'm struggling, but I've not given up.

Jill, just remember the blood sugar issues. It's not an option for you anymore, this is scary diabetic stuff. You've got to get back on your path to good health.

Good news I've discovered is that when I have been eating well for 2-3 weeks, that any variance makes me totally ill. I got some icecream with the dd's once and paid for it later that nite. Last nite I had some cheesecake from our after movie excursion, and that killed me overnite. I'm getting the message finally! It's like the book I'm reading right now, "Secrets of a Former Fat Girl" who had her turnaround when she caught herself in the mirror while puking up into the toilet her half gallon of mint chocolate chip. Good book, btw.

It's the not giving up part that counts in the long run! So you keep working it!
