No really, thanks Anna, I was really stuck there and I think it was more me than anything else. I am really liking this C25K program and with the challange I am working out more ... need cabana boys ...I also felt really crappy for not contributing to the weight loss pool last week, so I really pushed through this plateau I was stuck on.

I have a 209 goal for Memorial day, so I need to get 1.8 more down by next Wednesday to make it to that goal (see first ticker).

I too will be working out at 10pm tonight. We have a PTO meeting and it never lets out before 9pm even though it starts at 7pm (UGH). I will be on my elliptical working on week 3 and my 3 minute runs ... next week on to 5 minute runs I really want that 30 minutes ... I am going to get there!

Chelle - We saw Iron Man this weekend and it was GREAT! I really liked it, and wasn't sure if I would or not. My 8 year old DS loved it too!

I have a fun idea for you. Half way through the meeting, apologize and tell them this is your work out time. Start running in place. Do a some lunges. Then yell, "Drop and give me 20!" and start doing push ups.

I bet the meeting is cut short....

I failed to mention that this is a Catholic School ... I am not catholic so I figure they can't excommunicate (sp?) me or anything, but my husband (who is Catholic), just might kill me I can Sister's face

good morning everyone!!
i finally have a day off after the madness that has been my workweek since sunday, and I am so grateful that it's a beautiful day. squeezing in to get my exercise goals has been maddening and it's so nice im just going to tear it up later once I get some housework done (which i am obviously working so hard on sitting here in my robe drinking coffee lol). I also need to get to the store because mr. chocolate chip cookies and ice cream declared last night that "WE are out of ice cream" since he doesn't even know where the closest grocery store is, I guess that one is my job. :/ I don't understand where the "WE" comes from when I eat maybe a whopping tablespoon per half gallon in the house.
but here's my dilemma.. I've been going grocery shopping every week but the bills keep getting higher and higher so i've been doing some budgeting, and for the last 6 weeks or so i've only been going every other week, getting a large chunk of what we need and then picking up items we will run out of but i can't stock up on - mainly fresh veg and dairy. doing this, plus working out some smarter shopping, has saved me some on gas, and I know we're saving about $40 a week on groceries, and i'm saving maybe 5-10 bucks a tank in gas, though he seems to think we're spending more (because i ask for his half in a larger chunk as opposed to making about 4 trips to the store every two weeks and only asking for $20 to $40 at a time).
so... he's been doing REALLY good up to this point in finally not eating every single treat i buy him the second they walk in the door because he's figured out that I am NOT going to go back to the store to indulge him. it's three days away from grocery shopping.. he did a great job budgeting his treats ..I did not buy a normal amount of ice cream the last time i went shopping (I was aware we would run out before the 16th. I am actually shocked it lasted this long). Should I indulge him and buy it or make him suffer? I hate that I have to treat my bf like a little kid who gets into the cookie jar too frequently but I don't think he understands exactly how much groceries cost right now even though he does pay half. I think he's starting to get it and i'm afraid if i go out and pick this up for him he will think i'm going to go back to just picking up whatever every time we (he, really) runs out even though it ends up costing so much more in the long run in gas and grocery money than living without it for 3 days.
so.. do i go and buy him the treat because i am aware i didn't buy enough in the first place and he's being doing so good with everything else (we even still have potato chips in the house, i buy two bags and they're usually gone within two days) .. or do i go and buy the locally made frozen yogurt at the iga because i DO have to go to the store anyway and if i'm going to use my gas to go out i may as well buy a treat that i will get to eat? the stuff is so darn good you can't tell the difference anyway

All this talk of fast food. Tsk, tsk.

I had to watch my nephew yesterday until 8pm. None of us ate much while we were there and I thought for sure the kids were gonna ask for McDonald's when we drove past. They didn't. I wanted to get the grocery shopping done but was almost willing to put it off until today. Then I drove past a gas station and gas is now $3.99 a gallon here. I decided that the kids were gonna have to stay up late because I wasn't going to make an extra 50 mile round trip drive into town. We didn't get out of the last grocery store until 9:45pm. Poor kids fell asleep on the way home and I saved a trip into town. Of course by the time we got out of the store I was starving. My sub conscience saved me though. I was just getting ready to pull into Burger King when I realized I tossed my purse in the back of the van with the groceries. That is something I NEVER do. I might have to start though. That will certainly cut down on the fast food stops. Although, McD's brought back their southwestern salad so that is all I have gotten since.

Anna - Can you either pm me or list all those cool diesel grease websites in one post? DH has been trying to convince me to get a pickup when it is time to trade in my van. I've been very hesitant since the 24mpg I get in my Sienna is bad enough. If you are really getting 40+ I might be convinced.

Hopeful - That is a great job getting out there and getting it done so late. I battle that all the time. My treadmill is old and loud and only 6 feet from the kids bedroom wall so I can't after they fall asleep. Someday I'll have a slightly larger house with my own workout room off in the corner.

krjpy - Awesome loss! That must have made you feel great.

I really need to try some of those other nut butters. I think I would really enjoy them. I would have to hide them from my son though. He'll eat half a jar with a spoon and come back for more. Me, I'm a Tbsp per sandwich kind of girl.

Lisa - Go enjoy your daughter. Don't let anything stand in your way. Get back here when you can.

I am slowly losing weight. My calories have been great. My sodium, not so much. I need to get that back under control. While I haven't been eating a lot of calories it obviously has been product. I also need to get back on the treadmill. My 5K's are looking pretty pitiful after seeing all of Dee's stacked up. Oh, I put my pedometer on yesterday while I was watching the nephew. In just the 8 hours that we were there I already had 7500 or so steps. That doesn't include the 5 hours before that I was awake and scurrying around the house. Or the grocery shopping after we left. I got home and took it off and was really looking forward to seeing the numbers. I must have bumped the thing somewhere and it reset.

My hubby complained it was too much movie, not enough iron man suit...

I was not looking at the suit my friend!

They are supposed to come out with a sequel (hopefully you saw what was after the credits, if not... hit up youtube.) Rumor is they are building up to an Avengers series.

the geek in me is coming out!

I just started week 4 on monday. I really thought those 5 minute runs were going to be scary, but i did it! ...and I realized that with week 4, you're running more than you're walking which means that whoa... i'm almost there! and you're almost there too! that's awesome

I know I haven't done it for a few days... I think cause my menus are getting poopy lately (ie probably the reason for crash and burn last night)

Good news is I only went up a half a pound and I know thats gonna be gone by WI

Is it wrong that I'm jealous of my dog's gorgeous musculature?

I think I need to lift weights.

Today, May 14th, is National Dance Like A Chicken Day. Embarrassing? Yes... but it burns calories!
