Oh I've been a bad girl!

Last night I came home early, like 7:30 and had every intention of working out and making a nice big yummy dinner.

But I got suckered into watching the Office with hubby and before I knew it, it was 11:30!

I ended up eating a slice of pizza, a whole bag of steamed broccoli, and a cup of light n fit yogurt with LOTS of chocolate chips added.

I probably won't weigh in til Monday, so I'm hoping between today and Monday I can get this extra weight I brought onto myself off.

Can I just say, my dh is wonderful???? As I was trying to de-compress and not stress eat least night, he kept reminding me the certifiers are "just people" and even though they have a lot of control, they are only people and I shouldn't be afraid of them. I wish he had been at work w/ me yesterday!!!! Oh well, today *should* be better, but we'll see....I just don't like feeling so ill-prepared!

On the upside, I know I got a great leg workout yesterday....my quads are super sore!

Elizabeth- Sorry about the accident and I'm glad you are ok. Sounds like you have a lot on your plate right now. Good luck with everything and try to check in when you can.

Chellez-Don't worry just get back OP and keep at it!

Jill-Hope the blood work goes well.

Man, with the amount of gauze and tape they put on my arm after taking blood, you'd think I'd been in an unfortunate encounter with a chainsaw rather than just had a little needle prick I'll get all my blood test results when I go to my follow-up appointment on the 27th. Now I have to go make an appointment with radiology for a lovely transvaginal sonogram.

I have a party to go to this weekend--sort of a low key bachelorette party (low key because the bachelorette is pregnant). We're going to have a fun lunch at one girl's house, and it'll be potluck style. I voluteered to bring both a fruit salad and a tossed salad, so at least I know there will be 2 healthy and yummy items available!

Good morning, Blueser!

Just dropping by for a quick check-in. I've decided to take tomorrow off, so I have a ton of work to get through today. My Dad is coming in on Saturday and I have so much to do to get this house perfect. We're not dirty, but our home is definitely lived in. Tonight,my oldest DD is in a play, so I won't get much accomplished this evening.

I've still not been working out. I've been doing okay with the food, so I might have a little loss for this week. I apologize to my Blue team and promise to make it up to you in the following weeks. The DDs are out of school as of the 23rd and they're going to Florida with the grandparents for about a month. I'm gonna miss them like crazy, but this will give me a chance to focus on myself for a bit and get this train moving quickly in the right direction.

I'll be back later. Hope everyone has a great on-plan day.

GO BLUE!

Jill - hope all your tests come back good. So, what tests do they run to determine PCOS? Or is it a combination of things - scan and labs? I work in pediatrics, so I've never had to draw anything to rule out that diagnosis. Although we do occasionally refer teenage girls to OB/GYN to rule it out. Trans-vag aren't so bad. Never fun, but I've had worse procedures. Which reminds me I'm about a year overdue for my yearly exam...must call and schedule...

Dora - I LOVE the pics you shared of your new garden! I looked at each one at least 4 times! I wish I had the energy to do something like that and to keep it up. Do you have deer nearby? Or other animals? You do have a fence up around it right? LOL with you Daniel!!

Elizabeth - glad you're ok!

Rhonda - how fun that your girls get to go to grandparents for a month! It'll be a mini-vacation for you as well.

Well, as I thought my legs are killing me today. I think we hit each little muscle yesterday - inner, outer, top and bottom...plus, my knees are a little tender which I don't' like. Joint pain isn't nice. So I know it's a routine I will not be doing twice a week. Anyways, I'm anxious to get back there at 9 when the childcare room opens!

I appear to have somehow tweaked my left knee and I'm trying not to go into a panic over it. I've pushed my scheduled 6 mile run from this morning to tomorrow (hopefully) and am trying to stay off my feet and rest my knee. I really hope it isn't anything too serious. I almost feel like hyperventilating at the idea of not being able to run. Ack.

Hey team! Still super busy at work, so I'll be on here sparingly. I managed to oversleep and miss my morning waddle, so to get another cabana boy I'm going to have to really push the miles. That's okay though. There are 2 bushel baskets of chocolate sitting in our office today, which aren't even tempting me now.

Dora your garden sounds great. I am gong this weekend just to get a couple of tomato plants and I am going to plant them in an upside down container. I do not know much about gardening just hope its not to late to plant them.

The last two nights I have kicked up my running and incline and boy I am feeling it today. Guess I will try and do my best tonight to run. Is it better to run on a lower speed for the same time or just run at the same speed I did last night with a shorter distance?

Whew, I just got back in from a walk, and I am HOT! It's so nice to have someone else in the office who wants to go walking--we're more likely to go do it if we're not alone. And I always aim for a 30 minute walk, and we end up going longer, which is just fine with me

haha, I have no idea. She ordered probably 12 different blood tests plus the sonogram. I'm not sure what checks for what Flipping through the test orders, I know they're checking my fasting glucose, B12, iron, full lipid panel, thyroid, and a bunch of other stuff I can't remember.

The scales are smiling this morning. I've been weighing on Saturdays and I can't wait to see how low they are by then.

My garden consists of 5 pots of plants. Green beans, wax beans, and peas are doing great. The lettuce was a bust. It was doing great in the house but died the minute I put it outside. I think there might be one very small cucumber plant left. I'll probably pull the lettuce and cucumbers out and split my wax beans and peas. I also planted some sunflowers along the edge of the property but I think the bunnies got them. Oh well.

My mom is supposed to be taking my kids for a weekend soon. I'm more than a little bit jealous of you Rhonda. Today is one of those days that I wish they were going to be gone for a whole month. They've been fighting all morning.

My exercise got interrupted last night. I hopped on the treadmill and two minutes into it DH called. My girlfriends wouldn't care if I kept walking but DH complains the treadmill is to loud. It was an hour before I got off the phone with him and by then the kids were sleeping. I did put my pedometer on at noon yesterday (I had been up since 7am) and walked around 8000 steps. I'm guessing the 6 loads of laundry helped yesterday.

Off to get on the dreadmill.

Hey Bluesers! How about a question(s) of the day?

What is your favorite vegetable? How do you like to prepare it? Do you have a yummy recipe to share with your fellow Bluesers?

I did the Jillian's 30 Day Shred this morning for the first time. I see what people mean about it being Old school exercising, very different to what I have been doing recently which is Turbo Jam, Hip Hop abs. etc. The time went very very fast and it was very challenging. I will definitely be doing it again. Recently I have only really done cardio I need to start doing more strength training.

Last night I ran 20 mins. I was very proud of myself. I got a stitch half way through but I kept running and got rid of it.

I intend to weigh in tomorrow so I better eat well today and run tonight.

How are all the blues doing? Ready to win another week?

Good QOTD, Rhonda! I'd have to say my favorite vegetable is mixed greens. I love a good salad. Followed by broccoli, steamed artichokes and then green beans.

I hope the new QOTD gets Josephine to share her broccoli recipe she raved about a while back!! I think it was Josephine - or maybe Karen?

Alright, any of you who know me well on here wil know I am not a fan of vegetables. At all. I hate them.

That said, I have been trying to incorporate more veggies into my eating, so I've been experimenting. I can tolerate steamed cauliflower and broccoli, so we literally have one or the other as our side with dinner every night.

The other night, I steamed a bag of frozen cauliflower in the microwave and then sort of chopped it up with a form (not mashed, just broken up into tiny pieces). It becomes VERY rice-like--Jeff has asked me on 2 separate occasions if I was making rice.

Anyway, I took the rice-like cauliflower and mixed in some fresh salsa and shredded Mexican mixed cheese. YUM!

Also, tonight we're doing chicken and broccoli with an Italian kick. I'll steam the broccoli, add some diced tomatoes (rinsed since I couldn't find any without salt added ), drizzle on some olive oil, sprinkle on some grated parmesan/romano cheese, mix in some Italian seasoning and crushed red pepper, and top with shredded mozzarella cheese. I'm thinking I'll pop it in the over for just a couple minutes to melt the cheese, and voila!
